I love it

I pretty much agree with the other reviewer - my husband and I chose this pattern for having a timeless look with a cleaner, more modern feeling and for being neutral in colors to go with whatever shade we decide to paint or put down on as a tablecloth. It is pretty sturdy, too. I'd say it's as close to klutz-friendly as china gets!

Love my china!

I have been married for 5 years and still love my china! It is beautiful, classic and elegant. I also like the fact that it is delicate but not paper thin so I am not terrified handling it (I am clumsy!) Another bonus is that there the color palate of the china does not limit you in matching linens so you can use this for any occasion.I have two china sets - one is a family heirloom (complete set) and the Brocade. My husband and I both prefer the brocade but as we don't have all the bells and whistles we use my family china for large dinners (Thanksgiving, etc.) and the Brocade for smaller dinners/gatherings.It has been made since 2002 and of date that this review is written, it is still an active pattern. That is great news as if you are a bride choosing this, the pattern will likely be available even after the company has retired it due to popularity.

The salad plate had a small ink look defect in it but is barley noticeable.

Just wondering if this was a factory 2nd or not. I know it was new and with just one small ink mark that looked like a scratch on the salad plate maybe a 2nd?? Still a great price for expensive never on sale china.

Works great and looks cool too!

While VCR's may not be the hottest items anymore, I still have a lot of tapes that I watch full of shows and movies from over the years.But I seemed to go through a lot of VCRs over the years due to the heads getting messed up with all the rewinding after I would finish watching one of said tapes.When I saw this item I felt I may as well give it a try. Tired of going through VCR's just to rewind a tape.The neat little car shaped device works perfectly. I have had it for about a year now and its come in quite handy. Just plug it into an outlet, push a button on the top of it and pop the tape in. You push the tape down into it and it starts to automaticaly rewind and when the rewinding is over it pops back up. Simple and easy.It even has lights that light up while its going and its really quiet as well during the process.This device works as promised and while the car shape may not be to everyone's liking, to me I just care how it works. And it works great. To those that like cars even better as this will fit in nicely. But whether you do or don't, this is a great price and works as promised and thats what counts.So save your old VCR's from aging and get one of these rewinders. I haven't had a problem yet and its done more tapes so far then I can remember. Nice little device. I wish I picked it up sooner. Better late than never.

Scary, but does the job

This rewinder looks like a car, but was cheaper than the one that looked industrial. It rewinds fast and hard and at the end, the sound it makes is pretty scary. It snapped the third tape we rewound. Pulled the tape out of the spool. We decided that since we were not rewinding precious tapes, we would try it some more and it has been OK. I still look at each tape though to make sure it is not broken. Full speed to the end and then whack!!!!! As I said, scary. Oh yes, the headlights come on the car during rewind if you amused by that sort of thing.

excellent vcr rewinder

If your like me and your stuck in the 80's, then this is the rewinder for you. It couldn't be simpler. you just open it, slip in a tape and close it and it takes off all by itself. when the tape is done it automatically opens again too. The car shape and operating headlights are cool too.

I originally chose this pattern for my wedding back in 1989. I am so delighted with the delicate pattern and classic style.The sterling is high quality, and I really enjoy polishing it to a fine sparkle. The pattern is not bulky but very refined and charming.I purchased 12-5PC place settings for $109 each between 1989-1999 from a wholesale fine china shop in Long Island, NY. The value of these place settings is now around $900/5PC setting.They have increased substantially in value. This is Reed and Barton's finest pattern of sterling flatware.They would not be suitable for engraving because of the delicate floral pattern at the handle base. Engraving would ruin this pattern.Unlike many sterling makers, my butter knife is completely sterling silver and not a sterling handle with stainless blade.This is something you will want to ask the merchant because it makes a difference in the value of the piece.Many manufacturers are skimping and adding stainless blades rather than the traditional sterling blade. This decreases the value of the piece.
