upgrading from a Smart-UPS 450 almost tripled my runtime from a scant 12 minute reserve to 34 minutes of backup power. Where I live, that's huge. Summer storms used to cause my server to shutdown after exhausting the UPS batteries regularly. Now I don't have to worry since practically all of our outages are fixed before the server gracefully shuts down. I love the ability to remotely manage the UPS with either the included Windows software or, as I do, open source software if you're running Linux. This is a great UPS for the SOHO, with enough kick to handle a pretty beefy server, a 16/24-port switch, DSL modem, and wireless AP.
