Beware unintentionally misleading reviews. Quality is just ok.

I am reviewing this cookware set having owned & used it for ~6 months. At first glance, this set seems to be very well reviewed; however if you read the reviews closely, it will become apparent that many of them are for older versions of Farberware sets (e.g. "I've owned mine for 27 years...", etc. (!)) Such reviews are very helpful in giving us a concept of the quality of Farberware from 1980, but they are unfortunately irrelevant to the quality of this set. I bought this set aware of said discrepancy, but was hoping that quality had been maintained, a good manufacturer in the past probably being a good one now, etc. etc. This was an error. As it has been noted, the pans' bases are not stainless steel, but rather aluminum that is quite far from stainless. The nonstick coating on said pans is beginning to separate from the pan in several small but spreading points (as I only use plastic spatulas/spoons/etc. to cook with, this is not an issue of user error). I have no complaint with the pots, but at the current rate I will require new pans after about one year of ownership. Whether such an investment is wise I leave as an exercise for the reader, but in my opinion it would be better to spend more initial money on a better quality, wholly stainless steel cookware set.On another note, I would implore Amazon reviewers to refrain from writing nostalgic reviews of archaic versions of current products.

Great stainless steel, but skillets are 100% aluminum.

We're happy with our 20-year-old Farberware stainless steel cookware, pre-dating the stainless steel capped base. The interiors are still like new. The lids are shiny and dent-free. The handles are faded, but remain tight with an occasional turn of a screw. We use it everyday.We are equally pleased with the newer "Classic" pieces, especially with the added weight and improved appearance of the capped bases. We bought the 15-piece set, giving us some redundant pieces but at a better price than buying fewer pieces individually.We like stainless steel for several reasons: It cooks well. We can use metal utensils. It lasts for decades. It's dishwasher safe without consequence. It looks good. It's heavy enough. It cleans up easily. (For occasional stuck on food, we simply blot out what's loose, add water, and bring to a boil. After a few seconds, the stuck on food wipes off easily.)There's pricier cookware available, some with aluminum cores that extend up the sides of the pan, some with copper clad bases, some with handles rated to 500 degrees, some made of anodized aluminum, and some so heavy you can use it as part of your fitness program. After years of no-complaints with our Farberware Classic stainless steel, we can't see paying the premium prices for anything else. We don't use our cookware in the oven, so we're okay with our 350-degree handles.One complaint with the set: The non-stick skillets are 100% ALUMINUM with a PLAIN exterior and NO heavy base cap. Per Farberware's own website (caps added for emphasis): "Aluminum stains easily and reacts with certain foods. A nonstick interior and PORCELAIN OR NONSTICK EXTERIOR prevents staining and food reaction. Nonstick aluminum is dishwasher safe. A PLAIN AUMINUM EXTERIOR may discolor in the dishwasher."We use stainless steel for most of our cooking, but still prefer non-stick skillets for some things. We'd like the skillets in this set better if they at least had an exterior finish on them.Follow-up: We gave away the aluminum skillets from this set and bought a set of Cuisinart stainless steel non-stick skillets to use alongside our collection of Farberware stainless steel.

Not quite as good as the old stuff

Farberware classic is great -- an inexpensive yet equally functional alternative to the very expensive pots & pans. Note: recently Farberware reduced its quality, in that older Farberware pots & pans had their thick aluminum base completely encased within a stainless steel shell. The newer pots & pans have the aluminum base attached to the bottom, but not encased within a stainless steel bottom. So, their quality is less than it was; most people who "grew up with Farberware" may not realize this. Farberware used to hold the patent on the technique of having the aluminum base CURVE up the side of the pan -- they no longer do this, and are the same as many other manufacturers.

Poor security, measure bike and vehicle before buying

Before buying this mount, measure the distance between your bike's fork dropouts to the rear wheel. Then look at the recommended crossbar spacing for your vehicle in the Yakima Q Clip instruction booklet. If the measurements are not similar (ie. rear wheel not centered over the rear crossbar, short roofline and long wheelbase bike), then the rear wheel will hang far behind the rear crossbar and there's a good chance that the rear towers will shift forward when transporting your bike. This can result in roof damage from the shifting clips and the bike's rear wheel contacting and scratching the roof.The Boa is Yakima's most economical rooftop bike mount and it shows. If you live in a low crime neighborhood and remove your bike and rack when you are away from your car, this mount will probably work just fine for you. Or if you absolutely need to minimize the footprint of the rack when it's off your vehicle.The Boa pod is mostly made of glass-filled polymer. There is a flimsy plastic cover that is secured by the skewer and covers the heads of the 3 hex mounting bolts. Unfortunately, even when locked, this cover can easily be pried and cracked open by hand revealing the 3 bolt heads. I complained and Yakima responded that they only provide theft deterrence and cannot guarantee against theft. This does not even approach deterrence.The Boa mount comes with Yakima's universal locking skewer with a polymer lever, stainless rod, and round steel nut. If the skewer is closed and locked but the handle is in the wrong orientation and there's insufficient tension, then it's a simple matter to rotate the handle counterclockwise to loosen the nut and steal your bike. The lever and cam are plastic and will deform and wear with use. When no bike is loaded, the only way to secure the mount is to tighten the nut further and then close and lock the skewer. However, adjusting the nut defeats the purpose of providing a long-throw skewer.Adding a long tray converts the mount into a Copperhead mount. However, given the security concerns, I returned this mount and purchased a Yakima Steelhead mount instead. The Steelhead has a clamshell clamping design and is mostly metal. It comes with a stainless metal skewer that has a special locking pin and e-clip on the nut. When the skewer is locked, the clamshell cannot open and the skewer nut cannot be removed even if it is not tightened and tensioned against the mount body. As with the Boa, make sure that the skewer lever rests against the crossbar when locked so that it can only be turned clockwise tightening (and not loosening) the nut.If you don't want to spend much more than the cost of the Boa but want to use your SKS lock cores, consider purchasing a Steelhead body (new or used) and a Rocky Mounts Lariat tray. You will need to drill a hole in the tray to mount the Yakima head. The Rocky Mounts crossbar mount is compatible with Yakima's round bars and comes with all hardware, and their wheel strap is also less expensive than Yakima's.If you are using or considering Yakima Q Towers, I have a separate review of that product on Amazon.

Gets the job done

This product works great for me. It fits my car and bike just fine with my Yakima rack at 32" bar spacing. I've used it with two different road bikes (one is a 'normal' size, one a smaller size) and it worked great for both.I'm not sure what the other reviewer was expecting out of this product. I wouldn't call any of the Yakima rack products extremely secure. If someone wanted to take my rack, they could pry the clips out and walk off with it. Also, all the rack bike mounts I've seen use the tension between the fork and the skewer to secure the bike. Apply enough force and you can probably pull it out of the mount. I'm never going to leave the bike on my car anyways, so it's moot.It works great and the price is right. As long as your bar spacing is in the acceptable range, you're fine.

Nice roof rack for the money

The Yamika BOA roof rack seemed like the best deal for a bike rack on amazon.com.I was a bit disappointed with the way the fork mount held the bike in place. It is a tension fit only, there is not grooves or anything to grip on to the fork ends, just flat metal on flat metal. I will probably grab some small specialty washers for something to bite on because I really don't want to buy new bikes or fix someones bumper when they fly off. The rear mount is a little quirky and looks very easy to steal even with a lock. My bike is a simple road bike with 700c-23 tires on it and it is a very loose fit in the rear strap system. I will have to get some rubber or foam on there to get more pressure on the tire. I have square bars so I probably won't have the problem of my bike tires slipping down and hitting the roof of the car like a few others were having.I was most upset with the item description. It is not a new model of this item and it is NOT the one in the picture although they are the same price. It looks similar but there were a few great improvements for the new model year in the picture.Most noticeable is the skewer is a bolt and a threaded locknut is on the other side of the fork to keep pressure more even and to give it more bite instead of the flat surfaces of the old model. The old model I was sold does not have this nut and is instead a bolt that threads into the skewer lever, it is a PITA to adjust because the weight of the bike sits on it.Other than that it really is a decent, cheap, easily installed bike rack. Be sure to measure your bike if you have round bars, we don't want your paint getting jazzed up. I plan to use a cable bike lock to secure my bike to the rack which does lock well.

Product does it's job

You really don't have much choices when it comes to parts or locks. I got this to give thiefs a little deterrent for during day time. I go snowboarding so I use the locks and I don't think anyone is going to go that far during day light when there's people walking by to pry the roof rack off your car. During night or otherwise not in use I remove the rack and leave it at home. So I'd say the locks are good at keeping you that much more at ease. On top of it, it's also another reassurance that your roof rack stays bolted down to your roof and doesn't come loose.

Great paper, great price

We used to buy this paper direct from HP. However, it seems HP just raised their price, and Amazon still sells it for the old price (not sure how long that will last). This is amazing paper to get crisp, clear, photo-quality prints. With standard bond paper, our HP 500 large format printer makes the images look dull and muddy. This photo paper creates images that jump off the page, better than any poster I've seen. Just make sure both your plotter and the software are set to maximum resolution.

Brilliant!

We have a large format printer at our office that we use to print over-sized banners. Nice Markers, a few downsides...

Prismacolors are nice markers. They aren't the BEST, but they certainly are good for beginners and novices. They are nicely blendable, come in an array of colors, and are double-tipped. They are shaped nicely too, so they are easy to control.The downsides are as followed:1. They tend to bleed a little.2. This set comes with an unbalanced array of colors. There is 1 red, 5 shades of pink, 3 oranges, about 14 skin tones, 3 yellow, 7 shades of green, 2 very distinctly different purples, and 8 blues. It also comes with 2 metallic and 1 black. The others are colors inbetween. This set is best for drawing human figures. The first two rows of the tray are various skin tones. There are no grays nor whites.3. The tray isn't all that great. Assembly is a bit confusing, and it doesn't stay together as well as it could.In conclusion, these markers are very nice, although this set should be used soley for drawing bodies or even fashion design. The tray is not worth much more than $5, so if you aren't pressed for space and absolutely need it, buy the set without the tray. It's much cheaper and still worth it.

Why spend $60 for the TDS when you can get a similar looking ball for half that? If you're a QB you know why. This is a better ball to throw on day 1 and a much better ball after a few months. Probably not worth the money for an occasional game of front yard catch, but a great gift for the serious player.

Sturdy well made cabinet. The drawers pull out all the way with stops so they do not tilt down. I use it for my recipe cards and I am very happy with it.

I love this chair

I ordered 2 of these chairs - one for myself and one for my husband. They were very easy to assemble and they are exactly what we wanted for our pool. They are easy to get in and out of and we both find them comfortable. The built in cup holders are also a plus. All in all, this is a really good product for the money.

Great Floatie !!

I wouldn't tag this as a toy. It's a great pool 'floatie' chair and we all love it so much, we fight over it, will have to get another one next year. Easy to put together, nice to have the option of assembling it as a recliner or chair, the lil pillow is great. The cup holders actually do work. It's very colorful, the fabric is strong and quick drying. Quick delivery, received it in large box, no damage. All parts included. Great value for the money, will purchase again.
