Fun, but not as good as the older ones

I own 6 of these electronic lightsabers. I just recently bought this green Luke Skywalker one for my son. It seems as if they make a different set of toy electronic lightsabers each year. This time, they extended the blade about 6 inches over the length of the ones from last year, and used a thinner plastic for the blade.

I know that you're not supposed to duel with them, but the new one cannot even come close to holding up like the old ones. I duel all the time with my kids. This new one is already bending when clashed... I would recommend hunting down an older one like Obi-wan's, Anakins, or Count Dooko's.. I can verify that those three are especially strong and are duel-worthy and have worked perfectly through 4 sets of batteries so far.

I LOVE it!!

This is a great toy. I'll give it a four on "how much fun is this toy" because it dosn't have a belt clip which stinks.I gave it a one on education 'cause if you want to learn how to put batteries inside a plastic tube, then be my guest.The reason I gave it four stars on durabilty is because after a few battles, it starts to get a few scratches, but nothing big. All in all, this is a great toy and "buy it you shall."

Ok toy, will bring some joy

I purchased this lightsaber a few days ago, and already has some dents on it. I wasn't using it that hard. You would be better off buying a basic lightsaber (the non- electronic ones) because the durability on them is alot better, and it doesn't really matter if there are no sound effects, just saves you the $5 of buying new batteries all the time.

I have had one of these grills for several years. I love it. It is the most used small appliance in my home. I am so sorry that Rival has not only chosen to discontinue it, but now they don't even sell replacement parts for it. If you can find one, get it. You won't be sorry.

I have played with it a million times with my friends in lightsaber fights and it never bends in lightsaber locks. I think maybe you got a defective one this thing is awesome. Doesn't hardly work anymore

Bought this while trying to find an under-counter can openener that would tolerate overhangs. As other people have noted, the arm you lift up to insert the can comes off WAY too easily - they should have made it to where you have to rotate it counterclockwise another 90 degrees or so before it can be removed. Also, after just a few months' use it does not open cans anymore, even while holding the can to it and helping it rotate the can. This is a horrible product and I would definitely not buy again. Wish another manufacturer made one that can fit under a lipped cabinet...

not worth the money

I ordered this can opener to replace an existing Black & Decker I had for over 15 years. I chose this one because of the price and it would work under my cabinets like my old one. When I got the opener, I was disappointed when using it, because the swing arm would routinely come undone (as if I were taking it off for cleaning) whenever I put the can up to be opened. I figured this a minor inconvenience and tolerated it because of the cheap price.Now, I cannot open a can. I make sure the arm is locked in place, and the motor runs, but I cannot get the blade to pierce the can. I have asked neighbors and friends to try, and nothing works. Unfortunately, I am past the return date for Amazon, and now have to deal with the company and warranty.I would not recommend this product to a anyone, since I have had problems with it from the beginning (because of the design), and now, after only 2 months, it is useless. Don't buy this product, spend a bit more for something that works!

Good Product

Our cabinets are recessed so my husband cut a 1"X4"X8" board and used it for his spacer so we could raise and lower the handle to get the can into the cutter position he also had to get longer screws (screws were included but just not long enough for the recessed cabinets with the spacer board) and it was installed! It would be really nice if this product came with spacers as I am sure others will have this same installation problem if they too have recessed cabinets. Great product and I would give one to a friend or family member if they asked for one. Runs great a little loud but gets the job done and FAST with a wonderful price. I haven't used the other things on the can opener but I am sure I will sooner than later!

Multi-purpose gadget you'll actually use

I was about to buy a "FryDaddy" small deep fryer at a retail store when the clerk at the checkout asked whether I'd looked at this item right next to it (she'd just bought one herself). I went back and swapped my FryDaddy for the Kitchen Kettle, with no regrets. This gives you deep-frying capability but also functions as a sort of non-crockery slow cooker. My first weekend, I deep-fried chicken wings on Friday night and then made a chicken-and-rice dish on Saturday, with fine results both times.

The heat does come from the bottom, I should note, not from the sides as in a true slow-cooker. Some may not like that. The instructions include recommendations for cleaning the non-stick bottom if it becomes discolored. The kettle is non-stick inside and out.

Best of all, unlike my older-model slow cooker, this one can be immersed (after you unplug the electrical unit).

Because of the danger posed by hot oil when you deep-fry, the unit has a magnetic breakaway cord. Tripping over or tugging the cord will simply separate it from the unit rather than tip the unit over. (Even so, be careful with kids around.)

All in all, seems to be a good buy -- a multi-tasker rather than a specialized item that will wind up in the yard sale.

Excellent Product with Many Uses

This is a great product that heats up VERY fast, shows quality in design and the teflon seems to be thick rather than the paper thin coating on cheaper appliances. Only time will tell if it holds up but so far, no problem, even using the Whirley-pop popcorn maker top on it to avoid the aluminum pot that comes with the Whirley. It makes the best popcorn I have ever had with no burning and every kernal popped, set at 350... and it does it FAST. Here is my recipe: half cup premium popcorn, tablespoon of canola oil or peanut oil, 2 tablespoons of raw, unprocessed sugar or brown sugar, 1 teaspoon salt. Within minutes the lid starts to rise right off the pot. It is great for soups, deep frying, baking potatoes, etc. Great product that inspires creativity.

I discovered the Kitchen Kettle while searching for something to make my daily pot of soup... and keep it warm. The Kitchen Kettle is fantastic for this BUT, after only a couple months use the non-stick surface is coming off at a tremendous rate! Is this usual or do I have one that is defective. Except for this fault I would rate at the highest level. Is there anything out there that is remotely the equivalent of the KK? I suppose, at about $20/pot that I could replace one every 2-3 months but that seems rather silly.

Great, well made product

I saved my pennies for this heavy bag stand as I wanted something quality and made in the USA. It is very well constructed and easy to put together. I hang a 100# bag and it is very stable when working the bag, although the base tends to creep to one side by about 3 inches (I probably work on side of the bag more than the other) and I simply slide it back into position. It does not rock at all when I'm working out, which is great. There are anchor holes in the stand for securing it to the floor which I might consider in the future to keep it from creeping. All in all I'm very happy with it and it's great having a reliable secure stand.

SHOULD BE 6 STARS! LOOK NO FURTHER.....

Please do not confuse this model with other Oster blenders sold here and elsewhere! They might look the same, but are not! This is THE model we all have seen in Bar's all over the world, for many years. And for good reason. THEY LAST! And it doesn't cost $100 +.It has a 500 Watt motor, and the all metal drive, which inserts directly into the blade assembly, is nothing like that of other (more cheaply made) blenders by Oster or Kitchenaid/Cuisinart, etc.This particular offering is a fantastic deal. You get the the original, all stainless-steel container, a real glass (not plastic!) container as well, another smaller container, with the food processor attachment, that's perfect for salad dressings/sauces/nuts, as well as a pair of blades!In short, if you want the blender professional chef's and bartender's prefer and use, this is the one. It will out-last two or three of the cheaply made, albeit more expensive, posers.

Very impressed!

I spent several weeks researching blenders. Even the top rated Braun has reviews that aren't that great when it comes to crushing ice, which is what I was looking for. This thing completely pulverizes ice to a smooth, soft, slushie consistency. I was looking to recreate a certain frozen drink that I get at a restaurant, and the one we made with the Oster was even better than the restaurant's! And they use one of those expensive frozen drink machines! It's loud, but it works like a breeze. The only thing I noticed is that it's so powerful, you need to put a towel over the lid because it will splatter out a little through the middle cap. A small price to pay for the power this Oster has! All the extras it comes with are a great bonus too!Edited to add that 6 years later the blender works as well as day 1! I read through the reviews and see that some customers received blenders with the instructions in Spanish. My blender set came with the regular English language operating manual. I did purchase this directly through Amazon so maybe some sellers are selling a model for another country?

My first year canning was fun with this!

There isn't much I can say besides that it does just what you expect it to do. It works, it seals fine, it keeps pressure fine. It works as a water bath canner just fine. Really, it does what it needs to do. I've put up about 300 cans so far and it's doing just fine. (from applesauce to grape juice to green beans to venison)My sister got the All American Canner and we canned side by side a lot so we could compare the two. Here's what we noticed the difference are:All American is a heavier pot. She can make applesauce in hers w/o burning the bottom (I burned mine), but I can use the Presto one on my glass top oven which she can't do with her All American because of how heavy it is.The All american has a bit of a domed lid which means she can fit one more can in hers than I can. Somehow, since the middle is higher, we had an instance where hers was able to fit the combinations of stacked jars and my Presto wasn't.The All American is a weighted gauge canner, while this Presto one is a dial gauge canner. In my estimation, that means the All American needs less babysitting than the Presto. I had to keep adjusting the heat under my Presto to make sure I wasn't getting it too high or letting it fall too low. She could put her weight on the canner and walk away knowing it would stay at 10 lbs w/o much fuss.And finally, the All American has a handle on the top that makes transporting it much easier.All that being said: they canned exactly the same. Every time we canned side by side, the time to bring them up to pressure, the time to can, and the time to bring them back down took exactly the same amount of time.I had to go with the Presto because of my glass top range. I like the details about the All American better, but like I said, this one works perfectly.

Great Little Projector for Great Price

This particular projector is no longer in production, but InFocus is still producing lots of similar, more up-to-date products. InFocus seems to be a popular brand to have in schools as both my college and the high school I now work at have them in every classroom. I really like this projector! It's bright enough to see in my apartment with ambient light from the glass door in the late afternoon, and it has good resolution with a crisp focus. It's not HD or anything, but it certainly is comparable to most computer monitors. The keystone and other adjustment features are not very delicate, but the functionality is available if needed. Overall, I like it, and I ordered a second one too!
