5Stands up to time
By Frank Carroll
I have finally ordered a replacement sharpening cartridge for my Chef's Choice 2000 model, after nearly ten years of good service. I have used this in a commercial kitchen, before my retirement, and for keeping my home knives sharpened. Amazon was not even on the horizon when I purchased my unit, and I do not remember where I bought it, but the sharpener has served me well over the years. This unit may not have the flexible strop of the newer unit, and may not produce the true razor sharp edge of it's younger brother, but this is a great unit. Finally wore out the sharpeners enough that they are not producing the edge they used to, but they have lasted over ten years. I figure this unit has saved me several thousand dollars, plus quite a few knives, and of course time lost driving back and forth to somebody to sharpen my knives, and generally get them back a week later.Great investment! Probably give this to the grand kids when I can no longer cook!fctrvlrHenderson, NV

5Knife Sharpener
By Thomas Schuckman
I liked this model and it's perfect for my personal needs, plus I showed my wife how to use it properly. I am a Disabled combat Vietnam Veteran: 68-70, and an edged weapons expert, so I know what works and what don't. Just wondering what the next larger, more powerful size is, and how much $$$ ? I rate this model 5 stars! --Tom Schuckman

5Plug and Play Center Channel
By Freddie Brooks
An excellent product that raises the sound stage from the lower speakers for in-your-face mids and vocals. A necessary accessory if you have "King Kong" in the trunk. The self enclosed quality finished speaker eliminates the need to remove or otherwise alter your front dash to install a center channel. It definately adds another dimension to the listening experience. Two thumbs up!

5Sound is fantastic
By Alain Jose Gomez
I bought this because I still have a lot of casettes, that I like to listen to when I'm driving. I connected it to a pioneer 12 CD box to listen to discs too, and 4 pioneer speakers and I can only say that my musical enjoyment has improved in 150%. It has a lot of power and really easy to use. The sound is sparkling and crystal clear even for old tapes.

4Pioneer KEH-P2030 indash cassette am-fm
By theantennaguy
I've had the cassette am-fm player over a month and here's a few thoughts on my experience. I bought it to replace a failingDelco factory am-fm cassette in a 99 S10 pickup. For a small truck the factory cassette had an excellent sound quality, one of the best I've owned but it was starting to have mechanical problems while playing cassettes. The new radio/cassette did not fit my dash, as the Amazon website's calculator said-I had to buy a 20dollar adapter kit at Walmart to make it fit the truck's dash, else it was sticking out about 3" from the dash. It still sticks out rather than fitting flush, but it's not objectionable. The sound quality of the radio is great, the supertuner radios are high quality, and it has surplus power to drive all four factory speakers of my S10. It has many variations of adjusting bass, treble, fade and balance. Sound quality of tape player is very good, but this radio will not produce the same deep clear bass that the Delco factory radio does, no matter how I adjust the bass controls. Very close, but not as well. I may still try to find an exact delco replacement and just store this radio for later use. I've read that the factory radios are electronically matched to a vehicle's computer control module starting in 1998 or 1999, so you can't just go out and buy a junkyard radio or new one from elsewhere in all cases. If you get one of those, you might have to shell out as much as $100 to a GM dealer to get the new radio matched to your car's computer module. Good points of this radio: Plenty of power, I'm sure in a different vehicle with bigger speakers this radio would satisfy most listeners. I haven't driven it at night since replacing the radio but the dial looks well-lit and visible in the daytime. Things I don't care for : controls are small, hard to see for older folks like me. Cassette eject is a manual, push--in type button. Rewind/fast forward button's roles are reversed, depending on direction of tape travel, confusing. Clock is hard to set without the manual, and manual tuning of radio is difficult if you are driving-so you almost have to program all your stations first, and just push buttons to find your favorite. Overall, this radio is a good replacement, and a hard item to find these days because most folks want CDs and satellite radios. In fact this radio has the option to control satellite radio but I believe you have to buy the optional controller from Pioneer.

5Great OEM Replacement
By M. Gates
Bought these speakers for $77 elsewhere, and have had them for a week now. Bought the 6x9 equivalent for $75 on eBay, brand new in box.I researched the best speakers for my 2002 Mazda 626, and have learned that if I want a good bass and great highs, I should look for speakers with a frequency such as: 28 Hz to 30 kHz. The lower the first number is, the more lows you will get. The lower the second number, the more highs you will get. So with that in mind, and other aspects (quality, material, wattage), I began my hunt.First I looked at Polk Audio, and even bought a pair of 5x7's but then realized my Mazda can fit 6x8's which would have more sound coverage, so I returned the Polk's and hunted for appropriate fitting speakers. Then I looked at quality, and found Pioneer does that volcanic thing with the basalt rock. To be more specific, Basalt Fiber Composite Cone. After I bought these speakers I showed my friend (who was going to install them for me) and he was blown away with the quality. He said he's done tons of installations, and these are going to be kickas* for my car. Well, compared to the stock speakers, they're definitely going to be 50x better. The highs are incredible. They play just as good, if not better, as a component set with tweeters. These are my first speaker purchases, and I am not disappointed. My buddy installed them for me in my Mazda 626, they fit in perfectly. Did not have to drill anything or use a mount. I also added a pair of 6x9 TSD6902R in the back of the car, the 6x8's are in the front. I have no amp, just a head unit: Dual XHD6425.I have never heard such amazing sound from my car before. These are definitely a major upgrade from factory speakers. I can hear every bit of detail with great clarity. Even better if I set the EQ on my receiver. The low end hits great, especially with the 6x9's in the back. I don't plan on purchasing subs with these installed!Great buy, definitely worth every penny. Will try and post a videoEDIT 04/24/11: (ONE YEAR LATER)I replaced the Dual radio with a Kenwood KDC-MP345U -- much better build and audio control with the Kenwood. That aside:After having these speakers for almost a year, I can say the quality is still phenomenal. Especially the 6x9's in the back, they are blasting perfectly.Unfortunately, I've noticed that the speakers in the front (Pioneer TSD6802R, the ones for sale on this page) are quite softer than the ones in the back. I'm not sure if it's just my car, but I find having to adjust the fader on my radio to output more volume to the front pair, and lower volume to the back, in order to equalize volume across my speakers. I think I just have to purchase an amp to boost my speakers and then this softness will go away. One problem, the highs are almost too high. I find listening to songs with "ts" sounds annoying. It sounds like the singer is spitting in your face. Example "ts" sounds include: "puts" ; "persists" ; "tsunami" -- Basically, any word with a high pitch sound to it. They spit at me :(Other than that, they are still playing superb! A definite buy for someone on a budget :)

5Nice upgrade to stock speakers at a good price
By M. Carson
I am going to review 2 products at one time. I recently purchased the JBL GTO8628 6-Inch x 8-Inch/5-Inch x 7-Inch 2-Way Loudspeaker and the Pioneer TSD6802R 6 X 8 2-Way 260 Watt Speakers. So this is mostly a comparison between the two and my grading does not imply there are not other, better speakers available that I know nothing about. My particular situation:I am installing 4 speakers into a 2011 Ford Fusion. The existing head unit is the low end Ford radio/CD player with 4 pretty poor speakers. For several unimportant reasons I am not changing the HU and wanted to keep the overall upgrade very low in cost (paid about $130 for all four speakers). The door covers of the Ford were very easy to take off and both speakers fit exactly into the speaker case in the door, so that was a blessing. The Pioneer's did come with the speaker wire adaptors that I attached to the door wire that attached directly to the attachment points on the speaker. The JBL did not have these so I soldered a short speaker wire lead to each speaker. Minus ½ a star just for that extra work.Soundwise, both are much better than the stock speakers. The Pioneers sound a bit "tighter" overall, better bass and midranges. The JBL had better brights and highs but lacked a bit in the low end. Of course the Pioneer costs over 50% more than the JBL so that increase should get you something. I thought a bit if having 4 of the Pioneers would be better, but the effort of shipping back, the added cost of the speaker and the better highs of the JBL eventually won out and I kept the JBL's. I think both speakers would benefit from a better HU with more power, especially the Pioneers but that is not going to happen.Overall, the sound quality is VERY noticeably better than stock. For the total price I am very happy with the upgrade and the sound the combination of both speakers makes. If I had to buy one pair only it would be the Pioneer. If buying 2 sets this is a good way to go. So I am giving the Pioneers 5 stars vs the JBL 4 stars. In this low end set up with a stock headunit on a tight budget these met my expectations easily. There may very well be better speakers out there, but my grading is based on the prices vs expectations I personally had for the vehicle I was installing them in.

5Amazing speakers for the price
By Tyron
I recently purchased a 2006 Mazda MX-5 that had some aftermarket Rockford Fosgate speakers. After replacing them with these, the sound quality is dramatically better. These worked well with the stock stereo, but I recently upgraded to a Pioneer AVH-P3400BH which offered a dramitic improvement. I'm not using an amp, just the built in 50w per channel on the Pioneer head unit.Super crisp highs, solid mids, and low lows. In my little MX-5, at times you could swear I had subs in the back. Some of the best speakers I've ever heard in a car and for less than $70, can't beat that!

5Great Speaker
By Maxx
Great replacement speaker. I pushed the speaker to it's limits just to see how it would hold up and it did a pretty good job. The clearity also gets high marks. I've had the same speaker before (with some minor differences) for several years before having to replace them now.

5nice
By pickerguy
Did the home work to find something to go into the stock 06 silvarado and keep the stock look. These fit nicely although I did alter the sheet metal just a tick to allow dyna mat around the edgges to make sure the were no rattles. These speakers sound great, the stock amp does them no justice but I wasnt looking to shake the world. I estimate a 30% improvement in sound quality over stock, which was not disapointing to this guy. Speakers were easy, the door panels on the truck require a little patience to keep from breaking platic. Amazon, a breeze as usual.

4Great player at a great price.......
By LD9000
When you're comparing turntables on the lower end of the spectrum, such as the Pioneer PL-990, it's very difficult to really find audible fault with these players. One is more apt to find personal faults in the players rather than in the performance, and such is the case here.I have owned low end Sony, Technics, Audio Technica players in this price range. The Pioneer is the best looking players of all the lower end models. It features speed control, arm control, 45 play capability, fully automatic, just about everything you want in a player. I'm surprised the speed control is included in this price. The sound of the player is nothing short of great, and not having played LPs for awhile made my old LPs come to life instantly. My personal gripe with the player is that it doesn't allow you to hook into your existing PHONO jacks ( if you have them ) on your receiver. It has a built-in pre-amp and it won't allow you to bypass. I have a PHONO jack, and would have liked the option to choose to by-pass the pre-amp, like the Sony does. Luckily, I had some open jacks and I had sound instantly. The player would have received a 5-star rating if it weren't for this small inconvenience. Other than that minor gripe, this is one snazzy looking player, and at this price, it will be hard to beat. The classy look of this player, plus all of the features will make a great addition to your existing system.

5*The* model to buy for those on a budget.
By j-star-r
Excellent performance and functionality! Set-up is quick and easy and the pre-amp sounds great. Even handles record scuffage better than other turntables at this price. I went through two exchanges at a retailer on a low-end Sony turntable before I ordered this Pioneer unit through Amazon, and I highly recommend this turntable.

5Awesome
By Krys Squires
I'm REALLY pleased with this turntable - I love that it is fully automatic. One thing to be aware of is that it has a built-in preamp, so you can't connect it to the phono inputs on your tuner/amp. I had to buy a $30 switch so that my CD and turntable can share the AUX input.Even with that extra hassle, highly recommended.
