A Great Purchase for Your Future Astronaut!

I picked this up for my 5-year-old last Christmas. I can't sing its praises highly enough!

As the picture shows, you get 4 different models in this package - the full-blown Saturn V, which ends up being over a foot high, a lunar rover about the size of a typical LEGO vehicle, a command module, and a lunar lander.

It comes with clear, complete instructions. Mom or Dad will want to help the first time with the stickers, but other than that, these are kid-friendly designs.

Fun? - My son has put these together and taken them apart many, many times.

Educational Value? - He also loves to reproduce the entire lunar mission - blasting off, jettisoning the stages, orbiting the moon, landing on the moon, driving around, docking, and finally re-entering the atmosphere.

Durability? - This is LEGO, folks. I don't know how you COULD break this, short of taking a welding torch to the pieces.

Awesome toy!!! :-)

I bought this toy on clearance at a Toys R Us store and got 50% off.This lego set is fairly easy to put together. (Took me about 20 minutes)This product consists of 4 different space thingees. The rocket, LM (Lunar Module), Moon Rover and another thingee. The stand for "the other thingee" comes off easily when you touch it. The rocket is over 1 foot tall and is very cool, and comes with its own stand. I also have the Space shuttle, and they are very fun together.Overall, this is one of the inbetween lego sets (more on the easy side). You should get this toy before it is not on store shelves anymore. (then you will need to go to eBay to get it at a much higher price.)

The price for this set is now extremely inflated. If you're a classic lego set collector, fine, keep paying these inflated prices. If you're a parent, looking for a set for your child, you should know that there is a newer version of this set (Lego Shuttle Creator 10213) that has more pieces for about half of this price.Hope that helps!

what I think

I think this toy is a lot of fun, and I am amazed at how real it looks. I think the only bad part is the three engines come off pretty easily, otherwise it is great fun and you can just fit a mini figure in with a small helmet . The Hubble Telescope is also very fun.

Snowboard Boarder Cross Chase is fantastic!

I bought the Snowboard Boarder Cross Chase for my 10-year old on his birthday last week and he just loves it! He plays with it every day -- he had great fun building it and has had an amazing time playing with it. He has quite a lego collection and this has to be one of his all-time favorites. An excellent lego and highly recommended!!

This is the greatest Lego Sports set ever

Not only is easy to put together, which my finger pads appreciate, but there are a ton of different things that you can do with this set. We bought this for my 7 year old during a 4 day cabin vacation, and he literally played with it the entire time.

If you buy this for your child then you are making the right decision because this toy will tech your child how gravity works. This toy will also last along time and it will stay in contact. It will stay in contact for awhile because the lego don't break but it might fall apart.

An Awesome Set!!!

Wow, what can I say about this lego set. It is amazing! It has a new type of steering, which has never before been seen in/on a lego set. It also has eight wheels that are each huge. This set is HUGE, with 600+ pieces. I really enjoyed making this set and playing the the pieces to make other sets from my imagination.

Rescue Truck

The Rescue Truck is a strange looking affair about 13" long or so. I like the engine and the 3 axle steering. I can't see,however, what is new about the steering system. I have dozensof technic sets and it's nothing new. The water hose can be adjusted (cool), but it's always breaking. Although this is agood idea for a set, I'd make it bigger (aviation fire trucksare huge!) and I'd make it more realistic. It's an all right set.

An excellent set, both main and alternate models

This is a very interesting airport type fire truck, it just screams BUY IT. The main model has 6 wheel steering and the hose on the front via a knob on top of the vehicle allows you to aim it in nearly 180 degrees. Where it excels as well is the alternate models, 2 police type buggy vehicles that are equally as fun, both aesthetically and functionally. All in all, a set worth buying, I have not regretted it at all.

Honeywell 50100 Enviracaire Air Purifier

I own two of these air filters and I love them. These air filters do an excellent job of cleaning the air in relatively short order and I keep these air filters in the bedrooms for clean air sleeping. I recently moved into a older house that has dirty HVAC ducting and while I am slowly cleaning those ducts out I needed a temporary fix. Additionally, I own a dog that sheds a lot and I have a child with severe allergies. Additionally, I am also an allergy sufferer (mold and cats). After doing extensive research on air filters, I decided to go with this Honeywell 50100 HEPA filter. There are a couple of reasons for decision. 1) The overall cost of this filter is the lowest (unit + replacement filters) I found at the time. I bought the unit for around $80. The average HEPA filter replacement is around $20. 2) The second reason I bought this unit is that I like noise. This is not one of those whisper quiet HEPA filters and that is OK by me. I am a big fan of white noise (after all I have two kids that like to get up early and make noise). This unit on its lowest setting is fairly quiet. However, the medium setting is loud and the high setting sounds like a jet passing overhead. Most of the time I have the unit set on medium. This is loud enough to drown out the garbage man picking up trash at 4 am. I have been happy with Honeywell products in the past and this is no exception. I also own a larger Honeywell HEPA filter that uses the same filter type as these units so I buy them in bulk. These filters also use a prefilter that goes around the outside of the HEPA filter. Using this filter extends the life of the HEPA filter tremendously. I vacuum the prefilter every couple of months or so. I recommend this filter to anyone who appreciates a well made decently priced HEPA filtration unit and doesn't mind a bit of noise.

Good Air Purifier for the Price

It doesn't explicitly state it in the product description, but the Air Purifier comes with a permanent HEPA filter and one pre-filter. The pre-filter is supposed to be changed every three months and the HEPA filter is supposed to be vacuum cleaned every six months. The pre-filters cost between $10 and $15. I've only had it running for several says and the pre-filter is already covered with dust, so it's really doing what it's supposed to be doing. What's more is that the air is so clean and crisp. The instructions say that you should run the air purifier 24 hours a day, but I think that's a huge waste of energy and only run it when I'm in the room, which seems to work just fine. It does make a lot of noise, but it's white noise, like a window air conditioner or a box fan. I almost didn't buy it because of I was afraid the noise would keep me up at night, but was pleasantly surprised that the white noise helps me sleep more soundly through the night.

Simple yet wonderful equipment to add to a high school math class

Texas Instruments TV/Video Presenter for TI ViewScreen Teacher Calculators (TIPRESENTER) is a wonderful piece of classroom equipment to allow students to learn how to use complex and sophisticated graphing calculators. In a classroom setting, students learn best when they can see exactly how something is supposed to work. The TI Presenter allows the math instructor to link a TI-83/84/89 graphing calculator to what is essentially a black box and show the calculator screen on a monitor or a slide projector. If you have a regular student-edition TI-83/84/89 graphing calculator, then you will also need to purchase an adapter to link the calculator to the TI Presenter. However, you can purchase a teacher-edition of a TI-83/84/89 graphing calculator (which has a built-in port) for about $30 more than the student-edition and link it directly to the TI Presenter.
