5Great Stuff
By Leisa R. Richardson
This is the first time I've used 303 High Tech Fabric Guard. I saw immediate results the first time it rained. Water just beads up & rolls off, helping the fabric to dry faster. 1 gallon barely covered my umbrella & 8 patio cushions so make sure you buy enough.

5USCG Master License Holder
By W. Reed
303 High Tech Fabric Guard is the only fabric guard I will use on my Sunbrella. It stopped the water drips and the growth of mildew. It cost a little more, but it is well worth the price.

5Satisfied with Results
By PeteW
Good water proofing product. I used it to renew the water proofing on my Pop Up camper which has Sunbrella canvas. I had washed it thoroughly several times after extended use in which the canvas had become quite soiled and dirty looking. High Tech Fabric Guard produced the results it claimed it would. I recommend it. Follow directions. I used the Solo 2-Liter Piston Pump One-Hand Pressure Sprayer With Telescoping Metal Wand 420 to apply the Fabric Guard.

4Good but...
By A Customer
I was moments away from purchasing this but decided to call local knife ship for any details and found out the clock wasnt waterproof. So seeing as i am in my school cadets experiencing rain, lake and mud i really needed a sturdy tool that i wouldnt be afraid to get wet. but with thorough research this was probably best tool for your average user who doesnt want the classic red handles. so good size, colour, design, tools but not waterproof.

3"Climber" with a clock & Pen
By G. Powell
This knife is same as the Climber with a pen and clock in the side. The climber is significantly less expensive and the clock will likely not last as long as the knife. (If my climber going on 20+ years is any indication). Victorinox is my favorite of the two official swiss army knife manufacturers, (The other is Wagner) but this knife is not.

Sony DSR-PDX10 Professional 1/4.7" 16:9 3CCD DVCAM Compact Camcorder with 3.5 inch LCD Monitor Product Description:

  • XLR Adaptor
  • Patterns can be easily switched between 70 IRE and 100 IRE via a side panel switch, Zebra
  • Lanc Control (L Control)
  • VTR Features

Product Description

Newly Developed Mega Pixel 1/4.7-inch Type 3-CCD Camera System.

DSR-PDX10 incorporates 3, 1/4.7-inch type Advanced HAD? CCD chips, each with a total of 1,070,000 pixels. (690,000 effective pixels for video acquisition in 4:3 mode, and 1,000,000 pixels for still-image capture).

14-bit DXP (Digital Extended Processor)

Use of 14-bit A/D conversion combined with 14-bit digital processing drastically reduces the noise commonly seen across dark areas of a picture. This precision of digital processing also contributes to expanding the dynamic range of the camera so that both dark and light areas of a picture are reproduced with more contrast, thus reducing the wash-out effect.

Advanced HAD CCD Technology

Incorporates the new Advanced HAD CCD technology. This is another key to reproducing high-quality pictures with reduced noise, even in dark shooting environments and with dark subjects.

Optical Super SteadyShot? Function

Employs the Super SteadyShot system in which the horizontal and vertical movements during camera work are detected independently by the sensors. The active lens adjusts and optically compensates
for unsteadiness, while maintaining image quality.

Switchable 4:3 and 16:9 Recording Modes

Captures images in both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. This function is easily selected from the menu.

Precision 16:9 Technology and Wider Angle of View in 16:9 Mode

A sufficient amount of pixels are used to reproduce high resolution pictures in the 16:9 aspect ratio. The Mega Pixel CCD enables an even wider angle of view in the 16:9 mode.

Custom Presets

The DSR-PDX10 offers a Custom Preset feature, allowing the operator to store and later recall the desired camera settings. The following camera parameters can be preset: Color Level, Sharpness, White Balance Shift, AE Shift and AGC Limit
(+6 dB or +12 dB).

4Multi-style Camcorder
By A Customer
The Sony DSR-PDX10 professional DVCAM camcorder is almost identical to the consumer dsr-trv950. (The dsr-trv950 was just replaced with the horrible dsr-hc1000.) The PDX10 is one of the smallest prosumer cameras and has a ton of features. The PDX10 features manual control of shutter speed, white balance, exposure, focus, and audio levels. The PDX10 comes with a two channel XLR breakout box which allows you to connect almost any pro audio source. It also comes with an XLR shotgun microphone. The breakout box can supply +48v power. You can control audio levels independently. The PDX10 features a huge 3.5 inch touch screen LCD and a black and white viewfinder. This camera can shoot in either Mini DV or Mini DVCAM. Another feature of this camera is the anamorphic 16:9 widescreen mode which does not just add black bars on the top and bottom, it adds width to the picture! This camera is very versitile. Without the XLR adapter, and using the small lens hood, the PDX10 is just a little bit bigger than the average consumer camcorder and is easy to take on vacations and capture breathtaking footage with the PDX10's 3 1/4" CCDs. You can also add the large lens hood, XLR breakout box, and XLR microphone and the PDX10 is bigger, but is a fully functional pro camera with room for wide angle lenses, telephoto lenses, ND filters and more! I love my PDX10 and would never replace it. Although it does not have all of the pro features of its extremely popular older brother(the dsr-pd150 and the new dsr-pd170) it is the only camcorder of its size to have all of the features that it does. I would highly recomend this camcorder.

4Finicky, Durable, Eccentric - Hey, it's a Sony
By Bly Magister
Quite often I notice many reviewers associate the word "professional" with this camcorder, which is frustrating since this camcorder is not "professional"; it is a professional consumer (prosumer) camcorder. I own this camera by the way, but I am neither a consumer (respectively) nor am I a professional; I have been to Radio-Television-Film school, which has allowed me to become a photojournalist, but I would never consider myself a professional - I have chosen to be this way because becoming a truly professional videographer slash cinematographer requires some extensive knowledge and experience - two things which I don't have, and two things which you probably don't have either since your on Amazon's website looking at the Sony DSR-PDX10, and reading a review on the camera from someone who is on the job, but obviously has nothing better to do at the moment.Nonetheless, I will attempt to divulge your wonders about this camcorder. As of the current, I have owned a PDX10 since the spring of 2004 - which I suppose is something like a year and-a-half to be not exact. And since I am much better at noticing negative things, I will start with those bad things about Sony's little three-chip camcorder, the biggest problem being the chips themselves. The three charged coupling devices in this camera are all 1/ 4.7 inches in diameter (almost 1/5 inches in diameter) making these chips the smallest ones in the prosumer market. What does this mean exactly? Well it means that the camera is absolutely terrible in low light shooting conditions. It also means that the image is highly susceptible to noise - a thing which wouldn't seem so bad if it were as aesthetic as film grain, but alas, this is interlaced digital video - the farthest thing from celluloid. Small CCD's also mean that the range of optimal exposure levels for this camera is about as narrow as the mind of a narrow-minded person; thus, the image will yield the best quality when the lighting is bright and even. Because of this, the PDX10's image will look its best when the camcorder used for outdoor shooting situations (except at night). This seems like a terrible camera now doesn't it? Not very professional at all, you say. Well, before you write this camera off, I must mention that the PDX10's image at its best is quite incredible for this amount of money. And to mention the unmentioned, this is the only camera in its class that will record in true widescreen (16:9) ratio - the PD170 (Sony's next-best prosumer DV camcorder [$3,500]) can't even do this. Most cameras which claim to record in 16:9 either crop the top and bottom of the 4:3 image, or they squeeze the initial recorded image by electronically changing the aspect ratio (but not the physical aspect ratio) of the pixels, which will later be "stretched" out when viewed on a 16:9 television - this process is physically degrading to the recorded image. Personally, I always record in 16:9 because when viewed on a 4:3 ("full screen") TV via DVD, the over-sampled image looks great, and is also future proof for viewing on 16:9 televisions in "full screen". In fact, the PDX10 has been a choice camera for underwater photographers who want to have the ability to shoot in 16:9 while keeping a small form factor; because of the ambient lighting found underwater, this camera will yield an exceptional image in such conditions (during the day, of course). When I purchased the camera, I also purchased both wide angle and telephoto lens adapters that thread on to the front of the camera's fixed lens quite annoyingly. With the 2x telephoto lens, there is serious chromatic aberration (a condition which is best described in words as blue-ish slash purple-ish hazes of light around subjects displaced in the depth of the image) that worsens the further you "zoom" in. This condition is not so apparent, if at all, wile just using the fixed lens, but then you will be limited to a 12x optical telephoto range. Digital zoom is available, and is broken up into two areas of intensity; the first level is 24x, which isn't so terribly bad as other digital zooms, mostly because the CCD's have roughly one million pixels scattered about each of their tiny 1/ 4.7 inch surfaces, and the resolution of NTSC DV only asks for about half of those pixels to show a proper image. The second level of digital zoom is available also, but I wouldn't advise using it unless you're spying on somebody whose one eighth of a mile away from you.A wide angle adapter is nice to have, but I wouldn't suggest using it if you are planning on zooming in a lot, otherwise you will have to be constantly adjusting your focus. Particularly helpful when using these fixed-lens cameras is an auto focus feature, or more importantly, a push-auto focus feature. For example, you may set the camera to manual focus, and if you don't feel like messing with the focus ring on the front of the camera, you may push a button on the side of the camera that will automatically adjust the focus without having to switch into auto focus mode. There is even a third way to focus, and that is via the LCD flip-out screen, which happens to be touch-sensitive. Just hit tap the screen in the area you want the camera to focus and it will do so - makes rack focuses easy as h-e and two hockey sticks. All three modes of auto focus are very fast; Sony is known for having the best auto focus for video cameras, and this camera is no exception as it was originally designed to be Sony's flagship consumer model. Probably my second overall disappointment with the camera is the manual focus ring that has a naturally sluggish feel to it; I much prefer the precise auto controls found on Panasonic's fixed-lens cameras, which closely mimic the feel of a mounted lens. The PDX10's focus ring gets even more sluggish in cold weather, as the back side of the metal ring is coated with an anti-abrasive lubricant whose viscosity decreases congruently with the clime's temperature.Since I'm on the subject of temperature and climate affecting the performance of the camera, I'll have you know that even the most extreme conditions for humans will not affect the performance of the PDX10. It is known that both altitude and temperature affect electronics in general, and when exposed to the most extreme conditions, they might cease to even operate. Such was not the case when I went skiing in Colorado during late December of last year. I decided to take the PDX10 on the slopes one day, and mindful of the temperatures, loaded the camera with a DVCAM cassette just to test what the medium was all hyped up to be. Somewhere between 12,000 and 13,000 feet at single digits Fahrenheit, I blasted down the slopes holding the small camera close to the ground with idle-as-possible hands; it was fun. Sometimes when you're skiing, within all of those layers of clothing, you kind of loose perspective on how cold it really is outside. Well, looking down at the PDX10's flip-out LCD, I noticed that something was wrong - it looked like the shutter speed was low. But after skiing a little bit more, it finally hit my mind - it was so cold that the pixel refresh rate had increased, or the liquid in the crystal display was getting too cold. That's cold. One of my friend's digital cameras wouldn't power up - that's cold. I began to wonder whether or not my footage would come out ok, but when we all got back to the lodge and played the tape, it was just perfect. Maybe DVCAM does have some redeeming properties whenever you're 12,000 feet above sea level, freezing your rear end off, and happen to be taping something. On other issues of durability, I would like to in fact mention more issues of durability. It just so happened that this camera, in an unfortunate series of events, was catapulted to the ground in such intensity that the lens hood became permanently distorted, the corner of the LCD flip-out panel gouged a scar into the side of the camera body, the original shotgun microphone was rendered snapped-in-half, the high capacity battery was dislocated from the camera body, and the optical sensor for the focus ring was knocked out of place from the impact. Fortunately, I was able to re-attach the battery and continue filming. I was able to fix the focus ring problem myself by taking apart the camera and doing some rudimentary drilling. I don't have any problems with the camera to this day (this happened a year ago). I have worked with other cameras of the like, and can say in confidence that the PDX10, and all Sony prosumer video cameras, feel more durable than the Canon GL series cameras, as well as the Panasonic prosumer cameras - not to say that it is more durable, it just feels durable and has proven to be so. So if you have any doubts of durability, I can tell you in all honesty to not have any doubts of durability when considering the PDX10 and its durability. What you are buying when you in fact buy a PDX10 is a very high-end consumer camcorder that has the ability, in some applications, to be a quasi-professional video camera. If you are interested in filming extreme slash outdoor sports, I would highly recommend this camera for its durability, portability, great auto features, great image stabilization, and better-than-consumer results which will impress the people who see your footage, and might even trick them into thinking that it was a professional camera. If you're in the market for a camera to use for event videography, I would suggest investing in a camcorder that is shoulder-mounted (Canon XL series are a bit front-heavy by the way) and looks good in various lighting conditions (look for a rating of 1 lux or lower), and has readily accessible manual controls. If you're just a very wealthy or eccentric person who would like a video camera to document their own realities, you'd probably be attracted to the new HDV camcorders. If you are buying this camera to make a bloody film or documentary, find out how much it will cost to rent a professional camera and hire a professional to operate it - that will give you the best results. Final word: the Sony DSR-PDX10 could be akin to a very large sink with a disproportionately small drain, if that makes any sense.

4Great unless you need to shoot in low light
By Dick Oliver
I teach videography and have tried many different camcorders before deciding on the PDX10 as the best compromise between price, easy of use, and professional quality. The best feature of the PDX10 is the dual-XLR audio inputs and good quality microphone normally included with the camera. Cheaper consumer cameras often don't even let you adjust audio levels, even if you did add an third-party XLR input.Video quality is both great and poor--that is, great when there's plenty of light and poor when you're in low light or even not-so-well-lit ordinary indoor situations. I shot a well-lit scene with the PDX10 and, right next to it, a $20,000 Sony camera with a $5,000 lens, and nobody yet has been able to tell which is which when I show them the footage. (Interestingly, the more expensive professional camera also did poorly in low light conditions.)I've heard some people say they preferred the old Sony PD-100A, which was the PDX10's predecessor. However, I have both and appreciate the many improvements to the interface and slightly better color quality of the PDX10.The closest competitor to this is the Panasonic AG-DVC30, which has better low light performance but doesn't have as good 16:9 support. More importantly to me, the PDX-10 records in DVCAM format (on regular mini-DV tapes) which puts more data on the tape for each minute of recording. I have found to my great dismay that the regular DV format is VERY prone to errors, dropouts, and rapid tape degradation. I can't tell you how many of my projects have been ruined or nearly ruined by problems with DV! Since I switched to DVCAM-only hardware in my studio, I have NEVER had a visible dropout or data error, even when re-using previously recorded tapes (which saves money, and which only a suicidal videographer would try with regular DV).Bottom line: Buy the PDX10 unless you need to shoot in low light, in which case you should get a Panasonic AG-DVC30 (and splurg on best-quality tape) or save up the extra money for a Sony PD170, which also has good low-light performance. The PD170 also has more bells and whistles (such as selectable frame rate and more switches so you don't need to use menus as often), but for my money I'd much rather have two PDX10's (or a PDX10 and a thick stack of hundred-dollar bills) than one PD170.

5Great refrigerator for a Semi
By Ray Lawson
I use this refrigerator in a Peterbilt Semi truck and it works great. Unlike coolers the temp in this refrigerator stays constant. When installing it is important that ventilation can get to the rear of the unit. I have mine mounted on the drivers side in the sleeper with a vent added near the top of the wall over the sleeper controls. This unit is built for use in trucks and holds up to the abuse a truck gives. I have been using Norcold refrigerators for 15 years. I only had a warranty claim once many years ago but Norcold took care of the problem right away. They stood behind the product.

3good dive ladder overall
By B. Stenman
I have used the Windline on dive boats over the years and the center column and cross bars works very well. For my own dive boat I bought the better built Garelick dive ladder instead. The Garelick dive ladder has a broader step that does a much better job of supporting your foot when all you have on is a neoprene bootie and or a swim fin and are standing on the ladder. The Garelick also has a foam inner core so if you drop the ladder it floats. The Garelick dive ladder has a white coating that has held up for more than 15 years of regular use. I doubt that the "electro polished" finish of the Windline will last as long.Overall both are better boarding ladders for divers or waterskiers than the traditional boarding ladders. Highly recommend with any ladder that you try it out on calm waters and with people around to give you an assist if needed rather than wait until it is a sink or swim proposition.

5Perfect Dive Ladder
By PE Florida
I have had several dive ladders on several boats and this Windline DL3X is the best so far. It is stainless steel and comes with a strong mounting bracket. I am an avid diver and the ladder is great for getting in the boat when you have scuba gear. I typically stand on the bottom rung and remove my gear. The ladder is very strong and holds my 250lbs, no problem. The ladder is easy to take on and off, when I am chasing lobster I can quickly flip the ladder upside down and slide it into the bracket while I move to my next spot. It makes for quick and efficient diving. Also, it came with two poly storage brackets for stoage inside the boat.I highly recommend this product.

4style & convenience=5 stars, pictures=3 stars
By D. Darko
I am overall pleased with my purchase.PROS:1. really nice style; eye-poppingingly small; attractive aluminum finish; fits in pocket/take it with you everyday.2. fast response (due to fixed focus lens which is also a con); ready to take a picture almost instantly.3. video mode is very fun; takes decent mpeg videos with sound even in low light; i use this feature a lot.4. mp3 function is awesome; except included earbuds are useless (too big for ear hole); good battery life.

CONS:

1. picture quality only fair; fixed focus optimal for subjects around 3-5 ft away. closeups & landscapes not so sharp. low light stiuations for stills pretty bad (i dont like to use flash).2. quality of remote unit for mp3 is bad. after only 2 months the wire crapped out (must jiggle and hold in a certain position for sound to come through).3. battery life for stills & videos could be better but not really bad.4. only 8MB built in memory; i recommend buying 256MB SD card (i wasted money on separate 64 & 128 cards)

you could get better optics in a similarly small package (the sony dsc-u20 for example; sharper pictures but poor video quality, no sound or mp3, cheap plasticy case); but the combination of the mp3 function, fast response as well as attention getting style made this the choice for me.

5Fits in your pocket and does so much!
By datigz
I love this camera! It is so easy to carry around with you. I use the MP3 function daily, and now also have a camera on me at all times to take shots of interesting things. I also use the video function a fair bit - just need to figure out how to email video "greetings" to people. I plan on using it to email birthday wishes to friends/family.

The buttons on the camera are small, but fairly easy to use - I don't have any difficulty using them. The on/off button is quite close to the power button so you need to be careful which one you are pressing. It is very easy to add MP3s onto the camera - connect the camera to your PC and copy and paste as you would move any other files. Very simple!

My only complaint about this product is the accompanying software is not user-friendly. I don't like how it downloads all of your pictures into one library. It is very difficult to access a single picture because they are all lumped together in a combined file. One minor concern is the battery - it uses a rechargable lithium battery. So you need to put it into the cradle to recharge. The battery is excellent(5 hours), but if the battery runs out, you can't just run to the store and buy more. This hasn't posed a problem for me, but is something to be aware of if you are planning on using the camera all day (i.e. don't play the MP3 player when you are out taking pictures for the day if you don't have access to your recharger)

The 12MB onboard memory is enough for just taking pictures. If you plan on using the MP3 function, and taking full advantage of the video and sound recording capabilities, you need to buy a SD memory card (these are pricey). I originally bought a 64MB card, which gives you about 1 hour of music play (but that uses up the card). I recently purchased a 256MB card and recommend others purchase at least 128MB. I have over 40 songs on my 256MB card, and still have room for over 300 normal sized pictures, or about 16 30-second videos. For everyday use, this is perhaps too much memory, but if you plan on travelling, you'll need it.

This product is perfect for anyone who travels a fair bit. I really like how it combines several useful features into one product. I don't know how good the quality of the pictures are in professional terms. I am just your average user - the pics look great to me. This camera also comes in a 1.2 megapixel version - I purchased this one (2.0 megapixel) because the pictures had better depth. There is only a 4X digital zoom - this means your pictures lose clarity as you zoom in. The latest version of this camera has an optical zoom, but the camera is about twice as thick, and does not include the MP3 player. I find the 4X digital zoom is adequate for my needs. Overall a fantastic product!

5Pretty Nice
By Jackson
This camera is the smallest out there.. smaller than the size of your avg deck of cards.. even though the 2 MP seems very little, but the image quality is very crisp when set on the highest resolution and on the FINE quality... since i brought the 128 SD card. i dont mind much of the size.. with that.. i can take 119 pics on the card and 11 using the internal memory.. i havent used the mp3 yet so i dont know the quality of it as for the battery life..

5Beyond Compare
By A Customer
These are without a doubt the most beautiful candle holders I own. When I picked up the package this afternoon I could barely carry the box inside because of the weight. The candle holders are very heavy, large and exquisite. They would make a lovely gift for any occasion. You will not be disappointed.

5Beautiful Product. Looks very expensive!
By S. Pan
We originally received these for a wedding present in April of 2005. Last month, letting a candle burn too low, I cracked one by accident. I was so upset! I was thrilled to find them on-line for 1/2 of what the gift-giver originally spent! Plus, the free shipping was fantastic. These look beautiful on our dining room table. They resemble expensive Waterford pieces! Plus, it's a bit of a contempory design which has a nice modern feel. I absolutely recommend them!

5Works good, with slight modification
By Frozen North
For the price, this was a good bargain. However, I wanted to be able to get cables from the front of my rack to the back, and there are no pass-through holes in these units. A hole saw took care of the issue for me. These work well and look good.

4C2G comes with some more handy cable managers
By Edward A. Luczycki
Picked up one of these for a network closet clean up and similar to their horizontal CM's I like the plethora of clips and the way the face plats attach as they allow me to get more cables, tighter without worry that the cover will pop off. As long as you are stronger than the cables, these things will hold tight! All this and they are simple to install and hold tight!
