5Domke does it - Excellent Bag
By Juma Bannister
Took me a while to decide on a bag because I wanted one to fit all of my gear comfortably in a neat compact size and have a hip/waist belt accessory. This bag does it all well. I got the black one and the canvas is a plus.My gear fits like this;Main Compartment-2 Nikon D700 bodies one with battery grip1 Nikkor 24mm-70mm 2.8 (not a small lens thus mounted on a body)1 Nikkor 135mm 2.01 Nikkor 85mm 1.81 Nikkor 20mm 2.8 (smallest)Side pockets-2 flashes SB 800 and 900 (with room to spare)Front pockets-16 aa batteriesSd8A flash battery packInternal Pockets-Extra camera batteries, Memory cards, lens Caps etc. etc.Its a bit heavy...but that's the gear not the bag and I also got the shoulder pad accessory it a very nice addition. The bag can fit two bodies with mounted lenses or just one mounted and another body. Its also nice traveling size easily fits in the overhead. All in all I'm very pleased, its an excellent bag.

5Ultimate canvas camera bag
By Stuart Pratt Jr.
If you looking for a camera bag that will carry a complete digtal camera system this may be the bag for you. There is three padded inserts, which include two large single-compartments for cameras/lenses, and a two-compartment insert for extra lenses. Three see-through mesh accessory pockets, for extra memory cards, lens cleaning materials and insect repellent. Two extra large side pockets for spare batteries, tripod mounts and energy bars. Two extra large front pockets for product manuals and maps. There is also a zippered compartment inside the bag for any miscellaneous items that you may need.In my bag;*canon 30d camera*canon 100-400mm lens (yes, this bag is deep enough to hold this lens)*canon macro 180mm lens*canon 16-35mm lens*canon 24-105 lens*canon Speedlite 580EX*two filters*accessories, as mentioned above. There are two downsides to this bag, it is heavy when loaded and some people may believe that a canvas bag will not hold up to the elements.I love the feel to this bag, much better than the ballistic nylon bags. The canvas bags tend to "give" more than the rigid nylon bags when carrying them.

5The Mercedes of Bags
By Analyst
This bag is the equivalent of a German car or Swiss watch: no prize winner in the price/value category (it's expensive!) but oh so beautifully engineered and built. There's not a single frill or useless feature. The gear is very well protected but very easy to get at on the fly without having to struggle with straps or buckles. And the thing looks cool--like something a grizzled photojournalist would carry. The tough construction makes it look like it will last through multiple wars (or at least lots of family vacations). My only concern is how long the velcro closures will last, but the flaps themselves should stay down even with less than perfect velcro, and can always be snapped. After buying based on a web page describption, I was a bit surprised at the smallness of the internal space. It's absolutely perfect for my Nikon D70, a couple of lenses, and the odds and ends that go with it, but if I throw in my backup film Nikon body things get very, very crowded. No way of adding my video camera without taking out the padded insert.Overall, I love it and believe I made the best possible choice from the plethora of bags available.

4One tough bag
By C. Henrickson
I have gone through several bags for my camera gear and this is the one I have used the most. It is tough, simple, easy in-and-out, and adequate for most of the equipment used everyday. Cannot pack my 70-200 Nikkor in it, the lens is too tall, but one body, two lenses (one on the body)and a flash fill it up. Side pockets for small stuff and a pouch for papers. Well padded too. I have drug this through Greece, Italy, the Baltic and all around town. Shows no damage, tears, or strains. A simple, strong gear bag. I'll keep this one!

5another Domke
By M.Yatcko
I'm not sure if my review made it thru on this bag. As I've said, I've been doing photojournalism for about the last 25 years. I've alway used Domke and wanted a smaller bag. I shoot with the Canon 50D, a battery pack, and normally take my 14-70 L f/4 and my 70-200 L Is f/4. I can fit all of that in the main compartmet. If I want to take my 580 flash, I just put it in on of the side pockets. As usual, Domke satisfies my photo needs.

4Great product, could use more padding
By Nakuru
Gotta love Domke products. I've owned a Domke over ten years (the smaller satchel model) and it looks as good as new. Needed something that could accomodate my new k10-d and attachments so I got the F-3x.As the other reviewer said, I'm not giving this one five stars simply because the 'floor padding' could be just a tiny bit bigger. Not so much in thickness, but in coverage (it could be bigger). This bag will accomodate a large slr with a medium/large zoom, two more lenses and there is still space for a few more gizmos like flashes, user manual, etc...

4It's my bag, baby. Yeah.
By Geoffrey Hamilton
I wish I owned one of these ten or even twenty years ago. This bag is as close to perfect as I've encountered. Construction is solid, the canvas is reasonably durable. I waterproofed it with a spray-on product from a local camping/outdoorsman's shop. The best thing about this bag, though, is the size. Not too big, not too small. It is perfect for my Nikon D1x (F5-size) with lens, an additional lens or two, both spare batteries, SB-28DX flash, my Linux subnotebook, several compact flash cards, and lens cleaning kit. With some cramming, I have been able to squeeze an F100 camera body in as a film backup, but this is not a comfortable fit for the bag. I have a larger bag for when I need more gear, though. This bag is perfect for light-to-medium travel. In other words, most of the time.Cheers!

4Great Inconspicuous camera bag
By J. Dascenza
I really like this bag. It doesn't scream "I'm a camera bag with expensive stuff in me!" It has a really subdued look and, from what I have experienced so far, it's also quite durable. I would have possibly added some padding to the bottom of the bag for a bit of cushion, otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

5Excellent camera bag
By Ian Y. Lind
After looking at a number of options, I just purchased this compact Domke bag. Although the canvas version appealed to me, a reviewer's mention of fine canvas dust developing over time put me off, especially given digital cameras aversion to dust. This version is made of strong ballistic nylon.I've only had the bag for a couple of days, but it is well built, holds a tremendous amount for its size, and is well thought out from a photographer's point of view. It "feels" good. Right now it feels relatively empty while holding a Canon Digital Rebel XT and three canon lenses. It's a soft sided bag with flexible interior compartments.[...]

5Great stylish bag to carry all of your gear!
By M. Stenzel
I'm a professional photographer and use this bag religiously. I love Domke bags as they are discreet-looking, have an excellent build quality and sturdiness, and this one in particular holds a lot of gear!In my bag, I have:Nikon D700 with MBD10 gripNikon D300sNikon 50mm 1.8 LensNikon 24-70mm 2.8 LensNikon 70-200mm 2.8 LensNikon 85mm 1.8 Lens3 Pocket Wizards2 SB800 Flash HeadsCleaning suppliesAll of my cablesBattery chargerand there is still room if I wanted to add another lens. The only thing I would recommend with this bad is the shoulder pad to put on the strap. When all of this gear is inside, it can get pretty heavy and the strap digs into your shoulder. With the shoulder strap pad, it's much more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time.

4It's not perfect but it's a good choice
By A photographer
I used Domke bags several years ago when I worked as a news photographer. The design was/is one of the best around for a bag to work out of rather than just to carry equipment. I liked the bag for its "floppiness" and its ability to mold itself to your body when carried. The biggest problem with the bags--and I saw this in virtually every Domke bag being carried by news photographers at the time--was that they wore through due to friction. Carrying it every day meant it rubbed against your side and mine eventually wore a big hole in the back. The only other problem I had with the bag was the lack of weather proofing. Being cotton, when they got wet they stayed wet for a long time.I switched to a waterproofed nylon bag but it had its own problems. Zippers wore out and the rough nylon rubbed against and wore spots on my jackets.Bottom line is--there is no perfect camera bag. The best I've found has been the Billingham brand (those are 5-star bags). They are dense-weave cotton with a waterproofing applied. They don't wear as easily and they don't absorb water. They're as easy to work out of as a Domke. They cost a LOT more, however.I like the Domke bags as a less expensive alternative to the Billinghams. I still like to transport equipment in heavily padded, waterproof nylon bags but, more often than not, I'll carry a Domke or Billingham canvas bag when I'm actually shooting photos.

4The bag for all seasons
By J. Paz
This bag, which I own and work out of is well made, roomy and easy to carry. Its day-to-day load includes a 20D/grip, 85/1.8, 28-75/2.8, 70-200/2.8IS, 580EX and meter, Lightsphere, poncho, M530V and charger, extra batts, filters, blank cds, cables. The bag has plenty capacity for the weight I'm willing to carry, and my limit is pretty much where it's at right now, 20 lbs. I also carry around my laptop in a sleeve and more often than not either a 681B, or a 3021BPro/486rc2. I could find another camera bag with more room, but the tradeoff is that it will not get carried around, but left behind in the car or office. The F2 has a nice hand strap, and a very nice shoulder strap that does not chafe or rub my neck. The bag fits behind the seat of my car unobtrusively, and is easy to carry.

5The ultimate shoulder bag
By Ron Greer
I've been using this model bag for over 25 years and have yet to find a bag I would considering switching to. Most bags look too much like camera bags, have too much padding (unless you tend to drop your bag a lot (I've never dropped my camera bag that I can remember). The Domke F-2 could be slightly larger, for today's larger cameras, but I prefer it to the F1 "little bit bigger bag"; it's too much bigger).canvas shapes to your body, zippered pocket in flap is great for passport, money, etc. A great bag that really works.

5Love this bag
By Jeffrey Achen
I got this bag in addition to my backpack bag so I could store all my gear for more intensive photo shoots. It's a fantastic bag, lots of space, but not bulky. The canvas is sturdy and stylish. Love all the pockets, again lots of room for two DSLR bodies, four lenses, cleaning gear, two flashes, flash bracket, note pad & pen, & lens filters.

4Yes it's a little bit bigger!
By joey
I use this bag for my location shots where I need to bring a bit more gear. In the main compartment I can put 2 pro sized bodies (1D or gripped bodies) 4 lens (70-200 f/2.8 IS fits as well). 2 Speedlites (550/580) can fit in the pockets covered by the main flap. Front/Rear pockets can hold various PocketWizard Plus II, batteries, grids, etc.. the zippered section can hold 2 umbrellas, snoots. reflector and 2 more Speedlites. The inside zippered section can hold business cards, gels and other flat things. All this without trying to pack the bag in.It's a great extended day shooting bag that I'll even strap a couple of compact light stands to.If you're looking for a bag to cary some moderate amount of gear in and like the Domke style then consider this.

4A good floppy bag with plenty of room.
By Dee K
This is a great bag with plenty of room for all my gear and then some. I'm still new to photography but started to outgrow my original bag which was only able to hold my dslr and two lenses. I figured I needed a bag that I could grow into and finally decided on this bag. Another great thing about Domke is that there is an optional strap that could be bought to carry the bag as a backpack.Although I am very happy with this purchase, there are a couple of things I would change to make it even better. The bag is soft (floppy). It would be nice if it had some sort of under wiring to help keep its shape... specifically the lid portion. The front and side pockets are velcro'd shut. I would have preferred buttons of some sort. Ripping open a pocket to grab something can be annoying especially in quiet situations. The front two pockets can be opened after only unclipping the lid to the main compartment. The inserts aren't as well padded as I would like.
