Makita 9566cv 6" Variable Speed Grinder

Top Notch. I have a few grinders and the Makita 9566cv is by far the best of the set, they are all makita. From the variable speed, soft start, 6" blade capacity, to the power it delivers its one of those tools you know you can count on. I do different types of work from woodworking, metal to stone and it comes through in all of them. I specially favor the variable speed which makes the tool very versatile on different aspects of construction.

if you intend on using a osborn log brush buy two grinders if you are going to brush whole house. I am like 90% done and my grinder just smoked and stopped working. WTF now i gotta send it in to makita. looks like i need to waste more money on another one and get overnight shipping to get it here.

Deck Chair vs Spindle Fishing Seats

I decided to purchase deck chairs instead of spindle style fishing seats for fishing from our pontoon boat and am very pleased with the quality of the two Wise Offshore folding Deck Chairs. They are well made, attractive, comfortable, and so much more versatile than fixed swivel seats.We had very fast delivery and the price was better that buying pedestals, swivels,and then the seats. Seats of equal quality to the deck chairs were very hard to find and very expensive.They were easy to assemble with great hardware (had to attach arm rests). After reading of others having trouble removing protective shipping plastic from metal parts, I simply loosened the bolts slightly on one side,removed the plastic, tightened the bolts, and repeated on the other side. No big deal.

This chair is a quality item at a cost lower than any of the competitors. The other chairs available are inferior in consruction. The embroided sailfish is a luxury but the chair is still less expensive than the chairs at West marine. Received from Wise facility promptly.

small size--big power

I install garage doors for a living, and this impact is ideal for this work. Lightweight, plenty of torque, small size gets in tight spaces. I run 5/16 x 1 1/2 lags all day, it works great. If you aren't carefull, it will snap them off!!!! Used to use a standard 1/2 impact, NO MORE, just ordered my second one today. Highly recommend this unit. Davethedoorman.

Excellent Anchor

I have a "small" box anchor that I use for a 21' wakeboard boat. This is the best anchor I've ever used for all types of freshwater anchoring. It holds fast in sand, mud, rocks and weeds. It truly requires no chain and half the anchor line to set quickly. I've been an offshore boat captain for almost 20 years and have used just about every type of anchor made.The box anchor folds flat and is easy to store. Every one of my family and friends agree this is the best small boat anchor they've used. If you ever go to Havasu or local lakes in California, pay attention to how many people use box anchors. I use it with an "anchor buddy" (bungee type anchor line) and it's the fastest way to anchor in shallow (10-20') water.Most anchors (especially Danforth and other fluke type anchors) require about a boat length of chain to maintain the proper angle and weight to set effectively. With the box anchor (no chain - rope only), I don't have to drag chain in and out of my boat when anchoring. Chain always seems to drag mud, weeds and gunk all over my boat. Plus it's a pain to try to keep the heavy chain from scratching my boat.The only complaint I've heard is that it can be a little difficult for some people to open/close the anchor. The locking mechanism is spring loaded and is pretty stiff. I'm sure it's made stiff on purpose to prevent it from accidentally closing (fold up) while anchored. Once you learn to press the locking lever evenly, it's easy.

Best Heavy duty 1/2" Drill !!

The ONLY real heavy duty 1/2" drill in this price range.Tried other name brands (red) broke first day reversing stuck drill bit in 3" steel.The Makita has great designed key to shaft chuck. Others(red) are held by small bolt, breaks and chuck untreads from shaft whenloaded in reverse.I researched design online before I bough, and the Makita DS4000 was the drill I needed.

unexpected

I have been using this drill to mix thinset mortar for the past 4 months. I have no complaints. I burned out my 6 year old Dewalt drill one morning and this drill was the only thing available for immediate use. I'm glad it was. I had initial sticker shock when i heard the price, but this drill is far superior to my last.A metal housing? are you serious? i thought they stopped making tools this well. The 12" grab bar is a nice feature because this drill packs a tremendous amount of torque. It makes mixing a thick bucket of cement easier.This is an excellent tool for the professional who needs this kind of power day in and day out. I would say it is a little it overkill for the DIY crowd or a once in a while user.i reserve the last star for durability. So far so good.

Works well with modifications

I bought this because electric anchors have disappointed me with the quality and function (rope constsntly getting hung up in the spool). It required the purchase of a plate to extend it beyond the contours of my boat but that is just a design issue on the bow. I really like this product and believe it will do the job for years to come.

This is one excellent piece of work. It is very high dollar but I bit the bullet because of some wrist and hand problems I started to have. SInce this is my livlehood and I have a family to support, I could not afford to come down with any career threatening injuries, ones that I could realistically avoid anyway. I have the yelow handle, ax style version and I love it. This company needs to make a smaller version for remolding but I'm in to them now with this one and won't be buying anymore hammers EVER. The price is the one reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars but if you can "swing it", this hammer is worth the money.

I Love This Hammer

I realize most people wouldn't buy this hammer because of it's cost. I got mine as a gift. After using it for the last few months, I would buy one in a heartbeat. I have read a few people talk about the hammer being as expensive as a nailgun and that is true. Everyone has their priorities though. Mine happens to be staying healthy and this hammer will help. I would like my body to age well :-)

I can justify this hammer a million ways. Here is what I love about the hammer for those who are reading this review to find out about the hammer and not my justifications.

1) It's light. I don't have extra weight in my nail bags. I was amazed at how much lighter my bags felt. I used a 24oz Dalluge axe handled hammer that I loved. I don't get tired hand nailing. My wrist never hurts and neither does my elbow.2)The grip is very comfortable. I had ordered the axe handled version but got the straight handle by accident. I'm glad I got it. I love this handle better.3)Length of the hammer. I like a hammer that is "taller". I've heard that Stilleto is coming out with a "shorter" version, but I like the length of this hammer4)You can replace the face. You can replace the face when it gets worn or you can put a smooth face on it.5)Won't break any handles.

I love this hammer. You will NOT regret buying this hammer.

By the way, I can still sink a 16d in one strike, so don't let anyone tell you a light hammer is for girls or that it can't drive as well as a heavier hammer. I would last longer against a guy with a heavy hammer and still sink 'em in one.

I've been a pro carpenter for more than 20 years. I have had scads of hammers over those years from estwing (ouch my elbow) to 32 oz. vaugns to all sorts of other designs. Since i have gotten the tibone, there will never be another hammer for me. I am ordering another one today for some one on my crew and that will make three in our company. Good compass

Sticks to the boat with double sided tape. Removes the top with two buttons on the sides so you can take it off when not in use. It comes with directions to calibrate it but it was good out of the box. I just used the iPhone compass to double check it. Probably not the most accurate way of doing it, but hey, it's good enough to get me pointed in the right direction. Did not hook up the light...would buy again.

I bought the Ritchie RA-93 Angler compass for use on my 16 foot Lund fishing boat. The compass is accurate, responsive and durable. I mounted the compass to the top of my dash panel with Velcro brand hook and loop material.The compass can be easily removed, leaving the mount in place by pushing the two tabs. This discourages theft by keeping it out of sight of opportunistic thieves. This would also be a good compass for use on a kayak. Water spray, sun and humidity have not harmed this compass in two months of continuous use. I will update this review if I experience any product problems in the future.I highly recommend this product.

Easy, Affordable, and Quiet

I installed two of these chain driven Chamberlains for two doors. My wife was not available to help me with the install (she is not easy, affordable or quiet [just kidding, dear]). However, I was able to do them both myself with the help of a 6 ft ladder, a Makita cordless, a socket set, and a screwdriver.It took me about 38 minutes to assemble the first one and 20 minutes for the second one. After that, each unit required about an hour to attach brackets and mount. A fairly easy job that required some skill. I needed to purchase the screws/bolts required to mount the unit to the support (they give most but not all screws/bolts as every garage is different). My garage required installing brackets to the supports as well.I like my wires neat, so I purchased an Arrow electric staple gun - a good move (the one I bought can handle rounded and squared staples along with one size of nail). Installing the sensors is required, and putting up all of the keypads and sensor wires for both units took about 40-50 minutes. A piece of cake job (with a staple gun), and the sensors mounted easily on their brackets.A light bulb and some tweaking are required (15 minutes each unit). Adjusting the door up and down limits is a trial and error method of rotating two screws to the correct position (opening and closing the door to make sure it goes high/low enough). I didn't have to tamper with the force adjustments, but I don't have heavy wooden garage doors.I helped my buddy install his Chamberlain Primo Belt Driver unit, and I honestly don't think it's that much quieter to justify the extra expense. However, my garage isn't connected to my house, so I don't hear it. It's probably worth the extra $ if a main room is right above the garage. It's not a huge difference, though.5 stars as it's a great buy for the money.** Added ** - I've had these for about four years now, and no problems. They work work well with the Security+ keychain remotes that I've purchased.

Good opener, be wary of Amazon

I ordered 2 PD210 openers in early November 05 and received them in late February of 06. Besides the dealings with Amazon the openers are great. I installed them this weekend and they work well, were easy to install and are very quiet. Be wary of a few things though. Amazon drug their feet for almost 4 months because I clicked the "send in as few shipments as possible" button. After they suggested I split them up I had the openers, in 2 separate shipments, within 2 days. Also be aware that the CLK1 remote keypad control DOES NOT WORK WITH THESE OPENERS! I had trouble programming it and called the support line. One of the first things the recording says is that it will not function with Chamberlain openers that have a purple learn button, like the ones I received. So besides those few things these openers appear to work great, I am happy witht the Chamberlain experience, just not the Amazon experience.

I bought this for my husband for a birthday gift.He loves it.He says it works wonderful and was very easy to install.Was not hard at all like some reviews said.It took all of 20 minutes.Hope this is helpful.

Snow blower cab

This is the best cab I have installed, also my third. The frame went together as designed, and the cab fit very well. The velcro fasteners hold the cab snug yet allow for adjustment. This cab was designed for MTD, even tho it says universal, and it actually works. I did put it on now when it was warm, that helps. The fastening to the handles is serrated to give better grip to the tubes and I like the way the lower support is dished in to give the upright supports a firm seat. I mounted mine just below the control panel, it sits a bit low for a tall person, but it could be mounted above the panel (I think), for a tall person. Watch the overhead door if you do. From experience I taped the joints with electrical tape and replaced the two clamps securing the bottom supports with four smaller clamps. I think it is going to work well, it fits and it is sturdy.
