Canon Tripod Mount Ring B

I bought the mount ring on the recommendation of a photo class instructor who said it would better balance the camera/lens assembly and allow me to rotate the camera from horizontal to vertical format.I mounted the assembly to my Canon 30D camera and Canon 100mm macro lens and found the assembly to work quite well, even though a little unbalanced on the camera side. I was able to rotate the camera from horizontal to vertical format easily by loosening the ring screw (black knob) a little.The one problem I had, and thus the 4 stars, was that there were no instructions on how to mount the assembly to my lens. It wasn't obvious how to put the outer ring over the plastic insert without breaking something. I finally figured it out after a couple of sessions. (Mount the plastic insert with the small knobs towards the front of the lens, and then slide the outer ring over the plastic ring with foot facing the front of lens. Press the outer ring forward with a twist until it snaps in place over the small knobs.)

Although the product works fine, for the $150, they could at least include a diagram and instructions!! I never would have figured it out by myself! So thank you to the internet trawlers who answer questions from distressed customers!!

So . . . get it.

If you need this for your lens, and it its gonna be tough not to, there's more or less only one manufacturor to get it from. So ... get it. Just don't lose the inner ring. Oh, the mount works just like the product description says it would, and the ring is the right balance point for both Rebel XTi and 40D bodies.

EF Macro Converter ROCKS

I am THRILLED with this lens's capabilities and the pictures it does. I test shot a corner of a window to determine if it would be good for my insect shots that I like so well.I bought this add-on converter and am thrilled to have added this and the 50mm lens of these necessary items for my set-up. I like nature photography the best and like to use my off summer days for hiking and finding photographs to take in perhaps well-known places but finding unique angles and subjects is what I like to specialize in. This lens will greatly enhance your experience in that 'little world' we commonly trod over or weed-ate away. I built a diffuser using a ping-pong ball over the flash so the lighting would work better. (Works great, btw).As usual, it's great Canon glass that does the trick.

A Wonderful Professional Grade Remote Control

This is a *professional* remote control. You can purchase cheaper remotes for use with the EOS system cameras, but the range on those remotes is line of sight and with-in 15 feet. The range on this remote is over 300 feet.The reason for the high cost is the extended range and you do not need to be within line of sight. I have mounted this remote behind basketball goals and on auditorium ceilings with fantastic results.If you are looking for a unique tool for your EOS camera, this is a great addition.

Excellent binoculars -- at a low price

We bought these binoculars as a gift for friends. Before giving them, I tried them out. They have wonderful optics and nice armor. Our standards of comparison were my wife's Waterproof Elites and my Leicas, both of which were almost the best binoculars available a few years ago. Ours are roof prisms, so are more compact and lighter than these porros. Otherwise, the only advantages ours have is the incredibly close focus on my wife's binoculars. Any optical superiority did not show up in our comparison, which was made on a bright day. It's really wonderful how affordable great optics have become: each of our binoculars cost nine times the price these binoculars. Of course, we do not know how well these Bushnells will hold up under use. But as far as we can see, these are a real winner. If you can afford these, don't get a cheaper pair.

Quality Optics and Value

This was one of two pairs of waterproof binoculars we bought for a recent Alaskan cruise. I like the porro prisim design and was happy with my Bushnell 10 X 50 wide angles. So when I saw these at the price offered I felt confident with ordering sight unseen. Delivery was as advertised and packing great. Of course I had to compare them with the 10 x 50's so I took both outside to view a nearby hill. Other than the obvious differences in power 8x vs 10x, and light gathering ability 42mm vs 50mm I found the optics clear with no noticable distortion on the edges, no light flares or reflections. They are comfortable and easy to carry. I did buy a leather case from Cabellas as the flimsy one that came with it provides only the most minimum of protection.These will compare nicely with Braska and easily with pairs costing twice as much. Bushnell produces a fine product at a good price. On sale...its a great value. Just remember what you are paying for them, and that they are not at the Zeiss or Canon level.

I bought this for birding and general use, after a recommendation from a California Park Ranger. I'm generally pleased--bright optics with crisp resolution, quick focusing, rugged construction. They are definitely worth the money. My only disappointment is that these binoculars are a bit on the heavy side.

The strap is particularly useful for my Bushnell binoculars. As for the cleaner set, I have not used them that much, but they would be of much help in colder conditions and fog-ridden areas to keep the lens clean.

Slik video Tripod

I bought this tripod after using a friends at an event I videoed. I had a cheap walmart Tripod but this one with the Fluid head is awesome, it has full range of motion that the cheap ones didn't. I video motorsports with lots of quick action. So I needed one that had full motion, the up and down with out tipping the the tripod to catch the shot. I'd recommend it just becareful with small camcorders it is a heavier tripod.

Great tripod for videography

Bought this tripod on the basis of reviews. Arrived with the locking lever broken :( Took some time to source the spare part in Australia but now all good. Discovered it's actually an oldish model and rather overengineered for modern lightweight HD cameras. Still, it's solid apart from the locking lever! Works well. Should last a long time. By the way, I bought another locking lever just in case this new one breaks in due course.

Awesome tripod!

I just sold my SLIK 505QF tripod for $100 after owning it for 15 years. It was still like new because I probably only used it 5 times, if that. Now I regret getting rid of it. The other tripods I have are nowhere near the quality of the SLIK tripod. Materials, design and craftsmanship are all flawless! Everything operates smoothly and it's extremely sturdy. This tripod will hold a heavy camcorder with no problem. If you can afford it, this is a great tripod. Worth every penny!
