4Replaced old Sharp R5A53 w/RK81 trim kit
By PCMc
After 19 years, had to replace our old Sharp R5A53 microwave which was installed in wall cabinet using a RK81 trim kit. Purchased new RK-530EK (or EKT, they're the same) so purchased the RK-51 trim kit. Installation of the RK-51 wasn't too tough overall (I'm not a pro, but know which end of a screw driver and power drill to use). Couple things to keep in mind if you're going to use the RK-51 trim kit.The trim kit includes a sheet metal ventalation duct (it's like a little shelf/stand) which slides into the bottom of the opening. The microwave then sits in on top of this shelf/stand/duct. The duct get secured into the cabinet/wall opening, you sit the microwave in on top, then you mount the trim around the front. The trim actually comes as four pieces (top, bottom, then two sides), not a single surround like my old RK-81 trim kit which I replaced. There are 6 screws which end up securing everything to the wall. As the screws provided are pretty long (over an inch), you'll want an electric drill so you can drill pilot holes. Only thing I wasn't thrilled about is the side trims snap in place between the top and bottom. That means you need to be really precise about mounting the top at the correct height and I could never figure out how you won't have a slight line/crack between the top/bottom and the sides. Most important thing about the whole installation is the width of the wall opening. Both the bottom shelf and the face trim mount to the face on the cabinet along the vertical sides of the opening. If the opening is too wide, you'll find yourself with no way to attach to the wall, even though the trim is wide enough to cover the opening. If you don't have this problem, or not replacing a similar Sharp RK-81 trim kit like I did, then you can probably stop reading here. However, if you do have either these situations, then here's how I approached it and might give you some ideas. My wall opening was actually too wide (about an inch on each side) leaving me with nothing to secure the new trim into. My old RK-81 trim kit mounted to the wall along the bottom/top edges, not the sides, so the opening width was not critical. Given that, my cabinet maker actually had oversized the width of the opening, which worked great for the cabinet construction, but now 19 years later provided me a bit of a tricky situation. One option is I could have mounted a couple wood strips along the inside of my opening on the sides to fill it back in to the required narrower width. That would have worked and been fine as the outside trim would cover it.However, If you're replacing an RK-81 trim kit like I did, I actually found what I decided was a better and easier option. I found it really easy to mix and match between the two trim kits. The outside trim of the old RK-81 is the perfect size to still fit around the RK-530 (or RK-520) series microwave. I used the bottom shelf/ventalation duct and cord from the new RK-51 kit, but the outside one piece trim and mounting brackets from my old RK-81 trim kit. I ended up drilling a couple holes in the bottom lip of the shelf so I could secure it from the front in the exact same holes as my old trim kit. This secures the bottom shelf/duct of the new kit in the same way as the bottom support spacers did on the RK-81 kit. I then wall mounted the RK-81 trim back exactly like it was before. It fits perfectly, no gap between the inside of the face trim and the microwave, and the microwave door still opens a full 90 degrees. Only difference is I have a 19 year newer microwave. I'm not drilled any additional holes in the cabinet as I had before, so if you try this, decide you'd still prefer to put the new RK-51 outer trim on, you just take the old trim off and mount the new trim pieces exactly like you would have anyway.

2Sharp RK-51 Microwave "Built-In" kit:
By Chad
We have our Sharp microwave installed in a wall-cabinet and didn't like the "unfinished" look of the appliance sitting on a shelf. We purchased the Sharp RK-51 kit to finish the installation. While it was a fairly straight-forward matter to install, I'm not overly impressed with the functionality of the product. The trim pieces surrounding the oven restrict the full-opening of the over-door to about 60-degrees, which presents conflicts when loading items. Our oven is chest-high, and the inability to fully open the oven-door makes what should be a simple task a bit of a struggle; you need one hand free to "hold the door open". The installation looks much nicer, but the trim-kit makes using the appliance less functional as I would have expected.

5Sharp RK51
By Harold
The Sharp RK51 arrived as promised. The quality and fit was as advertised. It was easy to install once the new microwave arrived. A previous reviewer wrote that they had a problem opening the door once they install the trim kit. I didn't find that to be the case here.I would recommend the Sharp Trim Kit to friends.

5Convection Microwave Cooking OTR Unit
By Panng
This is our 3rd version of this same unit (1st one sold w. house...second burned out after 11 years of continuous use! This newest of this Sharp line is very good looking, beautiful Stainless throughout & larger (inside) then previous units...it has really simplified convection & mix cooking with help of it's internal computer. This is great for all of your cooking, especially cooking for 2, we never use the regular oven except for a large turkey (this unit will hold a 10# bird.) There was a problem with one of the large bolts that holds it on the back plate..did not line up correctly...that was a pain. Also shipping by UPS or FED EX ends up with a mutilated box & I'm sure damaged units (we lucked out no damage to unit- the unit is quite heavy 84# so I'm sure the carrier just "heaves" it - so if your box is badly damaged don't even open it - send it back for a new one) they should really be shipped using another source.

5American Made Microwave w/convection -works great
By Jonathan Beeton
I purchased this item for two reasons, 1) because this is a Union Made microwave assembled in TN (the only American made microwave I've found) and 2) It has a convection oven that can double as a 2nd oven.

The styling on this unit is very nice, sleek and not overcomplicated, it enhances the look of my kitchen.

The microwave cooking is simple, with built in functions for thawing frozen items or popping popcorn, etc. You punch a button, it asks you how many steaks you are defrosting or how much popcorn you are popping and it does the rest.

Convection cooking is new to me, but the manual and recipe booklet that come with the unit have already produced salmon steaks with a white wine/basil sauce and cooked a pizza. I've found that in the heat of the summer I can use this oven vs. my gas oven and it cooks faster and doesn't heat up the house as much. There is also a function that combines microwave and convection cooking to get meals done even faster... there are so many things this machine does, I've yet to figure them all out.

A nice feature, you can turn the turntable on/off depending on whether you have a round or rectangular dish.

The unit runs on regular 110 voltage, so no complicated rewiring.

GE, Kenmore and Samsung all have similar units -all made in Korea, all for the same price or more. I chose this microwave because I was tired of complaining about outsourcing of American jobs and wanted to support a company like Sharp that is still making some of their units here in the USA.

3It was a bit of a disappointment
By Colleen
When we were remodeling our kitchen we decided to replace our Sharp countertop convection microwave with the over the range model. I really miss the old one. This new model seems to be a lot noisier than the old one. I went from 1.5 cubic feet down to 1.1 and it feels like I lost a lot more room than that. The hood light is VERY dim and the replacement bulbs (2) each cost at least $4 a piece if you can find them. Because we had to vent this into the kitchen we had to sent away to Sharp for a charcoal filter that cost $20 (filter plus shipping and handling.) We had planned to vent it to the outside but the vent didn't even come close to matching up the hole from our former range hood. The cooking turntable is white and very had to keep clean. It is only a month old and is very stained already.I do like to have the cooking area at eye level.I researched the price for comparable items on the web before buying and Amazon offered the best price as well as free shipping. I am very pleased with Amazon!

5This could be your only oven.
By A. Watkins
Wow, after reading the other reviews I had to throw my 2 cents in. It's big all right but that's the only point I have in agreement with the other reviewers.I've had the R-930CS for almost a year. It really lives up to what Sharp says it does. It bakes, broils and microwaves -- all well! I use it to cook meat and it's done a great job on steaks, fresh sausage and chicken. It also has a nifty feature called Sensor Cook, which is intelligent microwaving. It works for a number of foods including vegetables, frozen entrees and hot dogs. I use it for hot dogs, actually frozen hot dogs. I had no idea how long to cook a frozen hot dog. Not a problem. Slap a couple on a plate, hit Sensor Cook - Hot Dog and the oven does the rest. They come out perfect.Would I get this oven if I just needed a microwave? Of course not. ( I'm not even sure what you use a 1.5 cubic foot microwave for.) But if you need a microwave and a regular oven all in a countertop package, the R-930CS is great. The cleanup of this oven is easy too. None of the horror stories from the early generation microwave convection combos. This one is stainless steel on the inside. No protruding parts. It (so far) cleans up with a damp paper towels or sometimes with a bit of dishwashing liquid.

3Good cooking but a few problems
By A Customer
I have been using this product for 2 years. The cooking results are good and food preparation is speedy. However the turntable motor is of very poor quality (weak plastic gears) so make sure to stay even below the listed food weight limit. I had to replace the motor in my oven (52 bucks if you find the part and do it yourself, otherwise about 140). Also the door and some other parts are not aligned properly. One other review I found on the Net had the same complains about this product quality, in particular the turntable motor was faulty and had to be replaced as well.

5Great for cakes!
By Scott A. Armstrong
I was hesitant to purchase this unit after seeing the less than stellar reviews posted here, but I decided to give it a try anyway. So far, it does everything that it is advertised as being able to do. I made a devil's food bundt cake and it came out bakery moist, not dried out as I usually get from my regular electric oven. The control panel is intuitive and it has many useful features. The unit is larger and heavier than I expected, but it does have a fairly impressive interior volume. I like the high and low interior racks which allows you to bake two 9" cakes pans simultaneously. I checked the interior temperature of the oven with a professional grade oven thermometer, and it was within a few degrees of the stated temperature. Overall, this seems like a versatile and useful appliance. I hope that reliability is not an issue. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

It fits perfectly, but It would be nice if it were more streamlined. It looks the same as it did 15 years ago. Maybe make it all black to match the microwave it surrounds.

with a very versatile array of 6 MIC inputs each accepting 1/4 and XLR - MIC6 is a switchable Line/Mic level input as well as being switchable to RCA/phono jacks for tape loop/CD player or patch to a home stereo amp, adjustable feedback suppression. Mic level output is also 1/4 and XLR.Master Gain Control. this mixer has won a permanent place in my seminar room PA rack.It could work equally well for a modest band MIC setup, particularly if you have a mash-up of balanced and unbalanced mics (1/4" and XLR).electronically quiet, low cost, Modular power cord, unswitched outlet on the back, Bus jack to tie into another mixer... what more could you need?

5Mixer Works Well
By Mark Tipple
I don't play professionally, but jam with friends and family once in a while. I was looking for a way to set up 3 or 4 mic's and run them all through my Marshall amp along with my guitar. Although I had to buy a separate preamp to get the mic volumes up where I wanted them, the mixer works perfectly. Just what I needed. So far I am very happy with this mixer. It's nice to have room for a couple more mic's if I want, and the feedback filter comes in handy. Personally I think it has an attractive look to it and the price was very reasonable.

5Great Turntable
By dmill89
Even though this turntable only costs $70 it sounds great and has exelent tracking ability. It is light compared to many older turntables at 7 pounds but it has a shock isolated base so it doesn't skip. The included cartridge is an Audio Technica AT3400 which is a good cartridge with a retal value of $34.However when it wears out I recomend you replace it with a better cartridge.Overall this is the best turntable selling for under $200.Oh by the way the retal price on this turntable is $180.I would like to add the most suitable replacement styalus I've found for this cartridge is the Fisher ST09D Stylus. Although I replaced the cartridge with a Grado Prestige Black.

By JR
For the money, this turntable is an outstanding value. Tone arm has anti-skating device and included Audio Technica cartridge provides very good sound and tracking.Manual cueing device is easy to use and stroboscope keeps speed accurate.Slight hum during play from belt drive but does not inflict itself on sound output -only audible if you put your ear to the turntable. Dust cover is hinged for easy use.Plays my old 33s perfectly without any skipping.

5Great product for the price
By Brian Su
This is a great turntable for $69.99 but just keep in mind that the msrp for this turntable is $180.00 so you're actually getting a really good deal on a turntable that does really well. I've had this turn table for quite some time now and I must say that this machine has far exceeded my expectations. When I first bought this turntable I didn't expect much cause it was so inexpensive. But after playing some of my old frank sinatra records, I must say that the sound quality is great. This is a nice and solid turntable without all the bells and whistles. If you want to enjoy all your 33's and 45's this is the machine for you. You can't go wrong with this machine...so "ADD TO CART"

5Infinity kappa perfects are Awesome!
By E
I had a good transaction for purchase of this product, and the infinity kappa perfect speakers are awesome. Outstanding clarity; definitely a couple levels above my old alpine type R speakers. The infinity kappas are very bright, so I set the crossover jumper to -4db (tweeter has 3 volume settings). I also covered them slightly from the side to quiet them further and to stop lateral reflections in the car cabin. A little quarter sized cover over the woofers (dynaudio style) softened the ear sensative 2khz range, and now they sing beautifully and evenly. I couldn't be happier.

5Excellent speakers!!!!!!!!!!!
By Andrew
I am an ex pro audio installer. I can say these are the best component set of anything I have ever put in. The amount of bass is better than many three way component sets, it sounds like 8" subs. Also the power handling and shear output volumn is incredible. The sound quality is also high performance. Yes, the crosssovers are massive, put together they are the size of a small amp, so you need to plan on making room. The tweets come with three different mounting options and everything you need to mount them. The main speakers are massive although mount depth is not much more than a low end counterpart, just check the mount depth specs first if you are concerned. I remeber back when this set was bringing around $500 and for the price now you can not beat it. You will not be sorry.
