4it fit
By redhed
It's amazing to me that a slab of egg crate foam and two slabs of pick and pluck cost so much, but this seems to be typical and inserts for other boxes aren't much cheaper. That being said, it fit right in, and does a good job. Be sure to leave an inch around the edges for best protection.

4smaller than I thought
By J. Lambert
When I ordered this bag, I was replacing another. I thought it would be bigger than it actually is. I am impressed with the way the straps hide away. That is very convenient when traveling. The bag will hold a lot of equipment safely and it does give you quick access to your gear. I also like the way the tripod can be attached, not as loose as my Lowepro backpack. The strapping system is good but not as comfortable as some others that I have, to it's defense though it is carrying more gear than the other bags. Overall I am pleased with my purchase.Tamrac 787 Extreme Super Photo Backpack (Forest Green)

5My trusted camera bag for the past 12 years
By G. Morgan
I have had my Tamrac 757 for the past 12 years (the bag has existed since long before it became available on Amazon.com). I regularly use it to carry my SLR with lens attached (Canon 20D and Canon 17-55mm lens) and a usually a couple of other lenses, or three in a pinch, plus various other items (remote release, filters, CF cards, etc). And that's before I've put anything in the top compartment, which is great for food, an extra clothing layer, my panorama kit, or even another lens. I'm constantly amazed (and so are my friends with larger bags) at how much gear I fit in this backpack.Recently, after 12 years of constant use, the main zip failed. Tamrac replaced it free of charge even though the bag was long out of the warranty period. The bag is now as good as new.I like the flexible internal padding system of this bag. I also like the fact that when I put it down, the part that that touches the ground is not the part that touches my back when I carry it. I live in the desert and there are some very sharp plants around!

5Excellent
By Steven Gandy
This is exactly what I wanted...a huge, rectangular bag with all the goodies. I wanted to be able to carry everything and have quick access to it all. Lots of pockets. My only complaint is that (and this applies to every camera bag I've ever bought) most of the pre-configured storage spaces seem to assume older skinny lenses not the fat ones I currently use. So, re-organizing the interior is a must.

5The ABSOLUTE best bag you can buy!
By Margaret Gilbert
I am a hobby or occaisional photographer.I have been searching for a bag for 7 years off and on that offers the size, quality and, inginuity this bag offers. When I started this quest digital was really taking hold and 35mm was almost obsolete. I have several Canon AE/AV series bodies, a truckload of lenses and accessories. (Most aquired in ebay auctions trying to get a single lens).Years ago large pro bags were abundent, They became almost non existent due to the digital age as much less equipment was required to obtain the same goal. One of the bags I obtained when aquiring likely a single lens was a Tamrac. I was very pleased with the bag but again, to small for the fortress of equipment I now had. (And for some idiotic reason I figured I should haul it all because I might actually take a picture). Not wanting to carry 4-5 suit cases or a gross of SLR bags, I re-opened my quest to find the ultimate bag. Big enough that only one bag is required, but not so big that I would have to purchase a pack mule. I began looking only to find big bags are now made in backpack form or like a brief case. Not happy with what I found online and many pro camera shops, I pretty much concluded that what I really wanted simply was non existent. When I finally cleared my head from gross overload, I decided to search the Tamrac web site, and out of the blue comes the specifications of a bag so perfect that I was sure I was having a halusination. Big yet the size below pack mule requiremnt.I went to Amazon and ordered this beautiful, LARGE bag.Everything fit as I had hoped with room for a couple more filters, maybe some batteries and , who knows, another lens!. But I have a problem! This new problem is I bought this so my wife and I had to only carry one bag, except she cannot lift the darn thing. New strategy!I give away all my 35mm stuff and go digital. She gives me this beautiful bag, and with what I owned now is one EOS T2i, and two lenses. What am I going to fill this bag with???? BUMMER.... I have to buy more lenses, filters, more lenses, bigger lenses, more filters, batteries, cables, flash unit and, on sn on and on.This bag is by far the best bag you gan get. As you can guess, I would not part with it but had to spend several thousand dollars to fill this thing in order to justify the bag size and cost to my wife. (not sure what she will say about all the other stuff I had to buy to fill it yet!)The best thing is that is is 100% USA made. The quality, warranty and and desigh are unmatched. As I keep telling my wife, "it only cost a nickle more to go first class"! This bag is pricey, but well worth the cost.

5Tarmac is It!
By Photonut
I've had this bag for 5 years (purchased from Amazon) and it is my primary bag, I have a Tarmac Pro 12 for walking around. The 14 holds 2 bodies and 8 lenses, two strobes, filters and such. With it full of goodies it needs 2 men and a boy to carry around. I love it - period! This bag has been rained on, sat in icy cold water, and nothing in the bag has ever been wet or even shown the first bit of moisture. The slots for media are great, and it even has a pouch for a light meter should you carry one (I do). But then I earn a living with my cameras. If you have a bunch of equipment - Tarmac bags are great!

4It's not *that* big!
By G_Phillips
I've read other reviews about how big this bag was....even too big, but I didn't find it to be that big. I was hoping to be able to hold all my lenses & a quantum flash, but I have to be choosy about which lenses I take along. The only reason that I rated it 4 stars, rahter than 5 is two-fold. 1 is due to the fact that the bag is designed to carry lenses under both bodies & even under other lenses. This can be inconvenient. I would much rather have the bag be a little longer to where you can just reach in & grab the lens you want rather than have to pull a lens or camera body out & then remove a velcro divider to get to the lens you want. Of course you have your favorite lenses so those are the ones that you want to keep up top. I just pack the bag based on what I'm going to do....wedding, portrait session etc. And secondly, while I'm nit-pickin', the 2 pockets on the inside of the flap are almost useless if you have camera bodies with the extra battery pack attached (such as Nikon's MBD-10 etc.) because if you have a lens(es) underneath the camera body then the body comes all the way to the top of the bag so there's no room inside the bag to put a meter in that meter pocket or anything inside the "film" pocket without putting pressure on that gear and distorting the bag when you zip it. With that being said there are padded pockets on the side & 2 pockets on the front that are both very nice & convenient for extra batteries & memory cards (although don't be fooled by the pictures...the fancy little see-through pouch with the filters & memory cards does not come with it....it's extra). The quality & construction is top notch...no issue with that whatsoever. I got such a great deal on this bag that the 614 wasn't an option & airline travel is a consideration for me as well. If this review reads too negatively, it shouldn't. I just had a hard time deciding which bag to purchase so I thought I'd try to help you all out. It's a high-quality bag, it can get heavy when packed but can't they all.

5A Monster Bag
By Robert W. Lennox
I have bought several camera bags over the years - most from Tamrac. Like everything Tamrac, this bag is VERY well constructed out of the highest quality materials. The layout is spacious, easily fitting two DSLRs with battery packs and large zoom lenses fact to face. I also get two large Speedlite flash units, four additional lenses, hoods, chargers, batteries, AC adapter, filters, and lots of other photo paraphernalia in the Super Pro 13 with room to spare. When I bought this case I also purchased several additional Tamrac accessory cases. My advice would be to buy a couple of Tamrac S.A.S. Compact Filter Cases and hold off on the other stuff until you find out what won't fit in the compartments that come standard with this case. When loaded with my gear this bag tips the scales at 47 pounds. I'm NOT planning on using this bag for air travel. With bulging with full pockets, gear, and a laptop it is TOO BIG to be considered a carry-on unless you run into a kind gate agent. Don't bet on it though, since there is NO provision to lock anything, so security, if checked, will be a problem. I travel a lot by car and RV and plan to use this bag on the road, so it will get a good deal of wear and tear. It's great in the trunk of a car.I depend on this bag every day to protect some very expensive gear. I could spend two or three times what this bag costs and not get equal quality. I have NEVER had a piece of equipment damaged in any way when stored in a Tamrac bag. I consider the cost good insurance.NOTE: The bag does NOT have a "pocket" in the back that could be slipped over a wheeled carryall. <- Hey, Tamrac! This is an easy improvement.

5Made in the USA
By K.W.
This is my third Tamrac bag. As I keep adding equipment I needed larger bags. You can't wear them out. The construction is awesome. My last Tamrac bag I had for five years and it traveled around the world twice and got daily use. As a professional photographer I needed a bag with a lot of compartments and also wanted it to hold my laptop. I still shoot some film so holding my film camera plus my Canon Mark II D5 with lenses attached was a must. There is plenty of room for lenses, a flash and a lot of accessories.

5Quality & Protection
By JDP
Primarily shooting in the elements, I need gear that can go the distance and not require me to spend my time waiting for repairs or replacement. Like anyone else, I give other products a serious look before settling in on the one that's going to work for me. I came back to Tamrac. The biggest reason is the same one when I picked up my first Tamrac bag 17 years ago. Quality. After giving this bag a solid workout, its all thumbs up. To be honest, I expected nothing less. The Tamrac 612 Pro System 12 easily accommodates my two Nikon SLRs, five lens, and other accessories. With interior real estate measuring in at 14.5"W x 7"D x 8.5"H its all about space. Weighing in at a little over 5 pounds its not a light weight by any means. The padded swing gate and velcro locking system safely protects all my gear. Unlike some fixed divider systems, I like having the ability to adjust as needed. From top to bottom and side to side, the grey interior is lined with a thick foam for providing the optimum in shock and vibration protection. I found that the slide pocket with red flag feature is great in managing my SDHC cards and batteries. The large zippered, pop off pocket is another nice add on. It easily holds documents, wallets etc. The front drop pocket provides two separated mesh accessory compartments for easy storage of smaller items. The bag's exterior is a big selling point for me. Its made of water repellent nylon material that has gone the distance for me time and time again. It does an outstanding job of keeping my gear safe from dirt and dust as well. The lid fastens with both a sturdy zipper and snap & lock straps. The two side pockets are roomy enough for small accessories and secure via velcro closures. A full length pocket is located on the back that I use for thin manuals, etc. The bag comes in both black and grey colors. The mounted loops for supporting lights or a small tripod is a nice add on. The handle is heavy duty all the way. The stitching is sound. The shoulder strap is nicely done and won't give up without a fight. The piggy back pocket feature easily allows for the bag to be mounted on wheeled luggage. It does come in handy. Unlike some of the stuff I've seen from the competition, the hardware is first rate. The metal D rings and hooks will last a lifetime.A glowing indictment for the overall quality of Tamrac's products is the fact that in 17 years, I've never had to take advantage of their lifetime warranty against defects. Make no doubt about it, you pay for quality. In the long run, its a quality insurance that delivers big dividends in protecting my camera gear. I'm alright with that.
