548" Dethacther
By Seldomseen
I have only used the dethatcher once so far but it seems to work very well. I think the secret will be in how much weight you place on the dethatcher itself. You don't need much but a small amount seems to help. Now I just need a pull behind sweeper to pick up all the junk this thing brings to the surface.

5Agri-Fab 48" 45-0295 Tine Tow Dethatcher
By rar
This is my second purchase of this 48 inch dethatcher. I purchased the first one around 1998 and decided to buy this second one as a tandem unit to be towed behind the other one.I am very satisfied with this manufacturer's product and Agri-Fab's service department. I broke a few tines in the old one last fall and this spring (they just got old after so many years) and ordered replacements online from Agri-Fab. Cost was very resonable and deivery time was very good. There is considerable "bounce" of the dethatcher if towed too fast so ground speed must be kept down to eliminate this. I use two patio stones in the weight tray, secured with bungee cords, for weight on the dethatcher. This does a good job keeping the tines in contact with the lawn for dethatching. The manual raise/lower lift arm is a good feature to have for crossing driveways, transporting, etc. This feature is not included on some other brands.

4Agrifab tow behind dethatcher
By EVERETT E. DEHART
Great little machine, does exactly what it's supposed to do.Consider very carefully how you'll use this prior to buying. If I had I'd have purchased a different style dethatcher. Specifically, yes, it does a great job of bringing up the dead grass, etc. from your lawn and leaving it BEHIND the tractor. Now what??? You have all that ugly laying on top of your grass. OK, now it's time to hitch up the lawn sweeeper and pick it all up. So, you get to travel around your yard a second time which results in twice the gas consumed and twice the wear and tear on your tractor. If I were doing it again, I'd have purchased a front mount dethatcher for the tractor, that way, in one trip you can dethatch and sweep, or dethatch and mulch if you have a mulching deck and are so inclined. Alternately, you can get a dethatcher which mounts on the front of your lawn sweeper and also accomplish the job in one pass. Repeat, consider carefully how you'll use it.Agrifab is a great american company, have many of their tools. Customer service can't be beat, OK, they don't have an 800 number, but they don't leave you hanging forever, and the folks you talk to are very knowledgable on their products.Ev

5Tons of power

This is a great product with tons of power. I have used it for decking and drywall. 3" deck screws are no problem. The nose piece is great with such easy adjustability. Buy one!

5MaD PowER
By Maryanna H Funaro
Anything you set out to accomplish with this baby is a zip. The 2500 rpms are more than enough to drive screws up to 3 inches with no prob into rafters, decking, and drywall. The depth setter is accurate, and allows for proper penetration into drywall. Grip provides comfort, and the belt clip seems durable, and hasn't broke yet, (as it has on my Dewalt). I always reach for this one... get it?

3Oil in the Family
By Reductio Ad Adsurdum
I have several PC drills/tools that work fine; however, this driver leaks oil/lubricant. I returned it to our area's PC repair facility in Maryland and they could not correct the problem. Their conclusion was that I had to live with it. Neither a cleanly operating tool nor good service. Fortunately, this has been an exception albeit a miserable one. Disappointing to say the least.

Hypro Cast Iron 4-Roller Pump - 7 GPM, 150 PSI, Model# 4101CBuy Hypro Cast Iron 4-Roller Pump - 7 GPM, 150 PSI, Model# 4101C

Hypro Cast Iron 4-Roller Pump - 7 GPM, 150 PSI, Model# 4101C Product Description:

  • Hypro 4101C cast iron roller pump
  • 3/4" inlet and 3/4" outlet, 5/8" solid shaft
  • Use with liquid chemical such as Roundup, wettable powders will wear on the rollers
  • Max. pressure 150 psi intermittent operation (100 psi continuous operation).
  • Max. flow 9 gpm, max. 1800 rpm

Product Description

If you are only pumping water, the cast iron "C" version is recomended. The "C" version can also be used for agricultural chemical spraying, but you may also want to switch to the Ni-Resist or XL version for longer life. Pumping wettable powders through a roller pump will reduce the life of the rollers because of the friction on the rollers. If you are using wettable powder chemicals, Rittenhouse recommends using a diaphragm pump.

5DeWalt, Pay Attention
By A Customer
Large drywall project, 5 people, inexperienced to professional. I made a joke upon arriving about finally having a good tool to use (they already had a DeWalt gun). As we worked, I found that everyone preferred the P-C gun by a wide margin, including me. It is not like the DeWalt doesn't work and the P-C does. The P-C seemed to be lighter, had better trigger control, felt better in your hand, and seemed to work better overall (fresh bits maintained in both guns so that was not a factor). No one could say that one thing was vastly superior, but everyone preferred the P-C gun. The professional had a P-C gun the next day replacing his DeWalt - the DeWalt was never picked up the 2nd day. If you decide to get the gun, you can beat Amason's price by a bunch (well over $20).

4Very Good Selection
By Bill
I have found the drywall driver to be very satisfactory so far. It is the second one made by Porter Cable. My initial thoughta are that the only difference between this on and my previous one is that my first driver all of the nose gear was metal and not plastic. I hope that this one stands up as well.

5Solid as a rock
By A. Hebert
We have multiple trailers (up to 26') in the yard, and fitted with a multiball insert this adapter makes short work of moving them around. It's solidly made, obviously constructed with substantial, top quality materials. Weld joints are professional. This thing will last forever.

5A great tool!
By Michael P. Claudon
I purchased this tool for moving boats around my shop with my 30hp Kubota tractor. In truth I suspected to find a toy in the box, but found an incredibly useful tool instead. It is light enough that connecting it to the 3-point hitch is trivially simple. And having the ability to swap out 1 7/8, 2. and 3 5/16 balls by simply pulling one pin is a godsend for me.Now, instead of fighting with my floor jack when I want to block a trailer up, I can simply raise my 3-point hitch whle standing, slide the blocks in place, drop the hitch and drive away.

4Jet JDS-12B Benchtop Disc Sander
By James R. Beardsley
This is what a disc sander ought to be (Of course at twice the cost of the comeptition it BETTER be) I lookedat Harbor Freight, Grizzly, Delta, and Shop Fox before finallydeciding on this one. It costs a bundle, but is smoooooooth, well constructed (weighs over 100lbs) and built to tightenough tolerances that you actually are cutting what you intendto cut. It is a pleasure to use. This machine is for thesemi pro to professional shop user. If you want a sander thatjust grinds wood or metal, then go buy the Harbor Freight, or Grizzly, they cost over a hundred bucks less. However if you want a machine that just sits there and hummmmmms, and quickly sands exactly where you apply the material then get the Jet.. It will outlast 3 of the "generic" Chinese sanders (Jet is also made in China, but in one of the most modern, well equiped factories in all of Asia)My only quibbles are minor. One of the sanding plate adjustmentknobs was broken when I got it, it will be replaced. Also the sanding disc that comes with the unit WILL ABSOLUTLYNOT stick to the sanding plate. I tried using a heat gun, Itried pushing, I tried saying very very bad words, nothing.Fortunatly I had some good old Harbor Freight sanding discson hand....That is it in a nutshell. If you want the bestbuy the Jet, if you dont want to spend the bucks, and will settle for a lesser machine then Harbor Freight, Grizzly, Delta, and Shop Fox are out there waiting for you...

5Jet 708433/JDS-12B 12" Benchtop Disc Sander
By D. A. Wood
I had originally planned to buy the Delta 12" Disc sander until I read in their catalog that that it could not be used to sand metal. Since I will be using it for both metal and wood, I began looking around for another option. To my delight, I found the new 12" Jet. Jet's sander is far superior. Not only does it have twice as much horsepower, but the motor is TEFC. This allows me grind metal when needed without voiding my warranty or damaging the machine.

The Jet weighs in at a beefy 100 lbs and has a very large cast iron table. It also has a 4" dust port with an impeller which really pushes the dust out of the it's port and an oversized on/off paddle switch w/key.

Most importantly, it runs VERY smooth and the 1 hp motor stands up under heavy infeed pressure. Fit and finish is outstanding as is the documentation.

As far as cons are concerned, I'll echo the previous reviewer regarding the filler strip. I'll likely shim the filler later although it doesn't seem to pose any immediate issues. This being said, I wouldn't let these small issues get in the way of purchasing this sander.

All in all, I think this is the best sander in it's class and would recommend it highly.

5Great valve
By The customer is right!
I have a 22gpm hydraulic pump and a 4" diameter 30" stroke cylinder on my log splitter. I timed it with a stopwatch and this valve allows me to have a 10 second cycle time (out and in, under 10 seconds combined!). I suggest using a 3/4 hydraulic hose necked down to the 1/2NPT working ports. Nice valve!

5Quite Pleased
By R. Lanford
I'd been wanting to upgrade my (hobbyist) wood sanding capabilities for several months. I usually do a thorough research job online, then visit retailers who stock whatever I narrow down. This purchase was no exception, but $350 is a chunk of change for some of us, and my "work shop" has limited floor space. After concluding that my belt sander could handle most 'long boards' and table tops effectively, I settled on a disc-only model, instead of a combo disc-belt model. The two features most important to me were, (1) a cast iron table that would accomodate a circle jig, and is rock steady when tilted to 45 degrees and (2) the ability to help me control dust. Horsepower was my third, and less important, consideration.I'll tell you now, this machine is a 'hoss' in all three categories! This machine eats soft maple like a steak knife through warm butter! The table is large and quite heavy and secured by an adjustable stop (at 90) and two locking knobs on either side. It was dead on 90 degrees from the get-go (used an Incra 'Guaranteed Square"). All the hardware was there, instructions were easy to follow, parts (individually wrapped) fit nearly perfect, and setup took about 45 minutes from start to finish, including the stand & dust canister. Incidentally, Jet even includes a ground wire that clips from the body to the canister - to help prevent a flash fire, I suppose - but they're thinking ahead, none the less. The floor footprint is less than a yard square (guess-timate). The 80 (100?) grit adhesive paper was already installed on the cast iron disc plate. It's quiet and virtually vibration free. The only minor downside (if there is one) aside from the $350 price tag, is that I expected the built-in impeller to act sort of like my dust collection system; it gets a lot of the dust but a little still escapes. Again, that was my own expectation, and not bad enough to reduce an otherwise powerhouse to a 4 star rating. The machine just drips with quality so much so, that I expect to pass this one down to my next of kin (hopefully, a long time from now).

412 inch disch sander
By Rosh
I purchased this sander with the dust collector about six months ago. The tool arrived within 2 weeks from Amazon without any damage. Assembly was very simple and required putting the stand together and then bolting the sander on the stand. The motor is very strong and quiet and it has plenty of power for a home sander. There is no significant vibration. The dust collector works very well and there is no visible airborne dust. The only negative aspect is the disc run out. The disc run out was 13/1000 of an inch on the first sander. I called Jet tools and they told me that this is excessive and they will send me a new sanding plate which I replaced. The run out was 20/1000 of an inch with the new disc plate.I called Amazon and they send me a completely new Jet 12 inch sander with free return shipping of the old one. The run out on the new disc sander is 25/1000 of an inch. I have decided to go ahead and keep the sander and ignore the run out after all. The people at JET Tools and at Amazon were very helpful and they gave me no hassle on replacing the Sander. I recommend this sander except for the excessive run out. I hope this review was helpful.

5Excellent heavy duty disc sander
By Michael Tree
I bought this machine a couple years ago when Jet first came out with it.At that time they sold this model without the stand and dust canister, which is the model I bought, otherwise it is the same.It is a big industrial feeling machine, true, quiet, and strong. Not like the little hobby sanders you see for about $100, that often have a lot of plastic parts and an aluminum table.I have done professional woodworking for a dozen or more years and used to sell woodworking machinery.Jet has always had a pretty good product. I have an old Jet 6 inch joiner that was made in Taiwan. (This sanding machine is made in China.) In my experience the Chinese have surpassed the Taiwanese in quality control, although I haven seen or bought any Taiwan machines in a while. The Taiwan machines including my old Jet joiner were a bear to get set up right. It took me about 6 hours to get the joiner set up, including installing the motor and blades, the fence, and truing up the blades, squaring everything up. After that it has been a great machine, totally reliable. The disc sander only required taking it out of the box, IIRC, I think the sanding disc needed to be put on, perhaps. Otherwise it was running in about 10 minutes, and I haven't had to adjust anything on it since.Jet was bought by a Swiss company, and they also own Powermatic (out of Tennessee) now and some other machinery manufacturers. If you need a 12 inch disc sander I think you would be very pleased with this one. It has a fan on the back of the disc with a chamber that blows the dust out a chute, and I am able to adapt this to my HD shop vac, instead of the cannister and it is very good at removing the dust. The plate on mine is true, the table is cast iron and the machine is heavy, very heavy for one person to lift. It has a brake you just pull a lever to stop the momentum, if that is desired. I have no quirks that I have found that need to be changed.I see where someone has had two bad machines. This can happen, but in my time selling equipment, it was rare, and I am sure this is frustrating, especially when the item has to be shipped back and all. I have just not found this to be the case with the Jet tools I used to sell, they rarely, if at all came back, of course they didn't make this tool then. But mine is very sweet.Hope this was helpful.

4Except for a bad table
By Richard Kapuaala
Set up was extremely fast. 15 minutes including removing the rust coat on the table.I didn't have any trouble dealing with saw on my own. I put the feet on by myself and managed to remove the wooden packing feet by myself. I'm not a championship weight lifter, but I am a pretty big guy 6' 1" 230 lbs.I also thought adjustment on the guides lower and top was fairly easy.My first cut was a 3 X 3 x 36 piece of curly rock maple. I sliced a thin 1/16 X 3 X 36 veneer from the face. No burning, minimal chatter considering the blade, and no noticable load on the motor.I guided the piece through at about the same rate I would a similar piece of wood through a 21" Oliver I use to use at a shop I worked at.No doubt about it, the machine is quiet and almost vibration free. I am very impressed with the smoothness considering the price, and the type of construction; the saw is not a cast iron monster like the olivers and deltas I am used to working with, it is fabricated metal. The blade tracks perfectly with out adjusting anything but the blade tension to the exact marker for the blade size. That's a thrill. The saw was delivered right to my garage, the package was somewhat damaged and they only strapped one 40" pallet right smack in the middle of the box (which didn't give me much confidence I expected it to come on a full pallet or crated)but the contents was not damaged, not a scratch or a ding.I would give this bandsaw a 5 based on it's price and size if it weren't for the table. I took a Starett 36" straight edge and some winding sticks and the table is tweaked about 1/32" on one corner. Doesn't make for very accurate cutting. Hopefully it won't take too long to get a replacement table.Have I used better saws? YesHave I used better saws at the same price range? Definately not.The bad table aside, I would highly recommend this saw for any woodworker on a limited budget who wants the features of a resaw and bandsaw all in one inexpensive unit.UPDATE Dec 20, 2004For historical reference please read my review above. Jet makes a good bandsaw, and they responded promptly to my problem with the table. However Amazon does not allow Jet to replace defective parts. All replacement orders must go through Amazon.Since Dec 1 I have been trying futilely to get the table replaced. The first time I called their 800 number the rep never sent my request ahead to the "Appropriate Department". I have called once a week religiously and still no satisfaction.I wouldn't be so bothered if this was just a cosmetic issue, but the saw is unusable without a flat table, it is just setting in my shop taking up space and collecting dust.I would say to you, buy a Jet, but don't buy from Amazon unless you are ready for a lot of headaches and frustrations.UPDATE Dec 28 2004The manufacturer is finally sending me a replacement table. Got the saw Nov 24 2004, set it up Nov 25 2004 and hopefully I will be able to use it by January 5th 2005. Only 47 days after it arrived!

5Powerhouse!
By C. Bayne
I purchased this bandsaw because I burned out the smaller Delta I had. I thought it might be too big for my small space but once I set it up I found it does not take up a lot of room. I also thought its weight might be too much to handle but I can slide it without too much trouble when I need to. I have not yet entered onto a larger project but the dozen or so times I've used it, ranging from 3/4" stock to 2x4's, it cut smoothly and effortlessly. The blade does not wobble at all so it is no problem cutting a straight line. Large curves were easy (I have the 3/4" standard blade now) but I will be getting a 3/8" blade for finer work. Also I thought the 1 1/2 HP motor would be loud but it is not as loud as a circular saw. All in all, it seems to be a powerful, smooth, efficient saw that I envision using for many, many years.

5Outstanding resaw machine for under a grand.
By YellowAndGreenBoardBuddy
My budget didn't allow me the dinero to purchase a Laguna, so this was my second choice. And what a great second choice it is - I am not the least bit disappointed. While not an industrial-grade machine, the Jet does everything a hobbyist like myself could want.Unpacking and assembly took about an hour. The crate weighs in at 300 pounds plus, so unless you are a champion weight-lifter, better get a few pallbearers to help you lift this thing.Fit and finish were excellent, and I had no trouble setting it up and tweaking it. The unit comes mostly assembled; the user need only attach the table, feet, and a few knobs. Adjust the guide blocks and blade tension, and you're in business. The optional fence and rail assembly is definitely worth getting, and I had it installed in just a few more minutes.I plugged it in, started it up, and began my resawing fun. I pushed a 4 foot long piece of 6" wide quarter-sawn white oak through the saw, and made up a nice little stack of 1/16" thick veneer. The 1-1/2 HP motor provided plenty of muscle to cut through the wood. All this using the standard-issue Jet 3/4" blade. And without adjusting the fence. No drift. I didn't even install the little resawing bumper thingy. Just resawed boards flat against the fence. I can't wait to see how it performs with a nice 1" Timberwolf blade. This is the third Jet stationary tool I have purchased, and every one is a champ.

3mini-mill limitations:
By Nate
I have both a 36" alaskan MKIII mill and the mini-mill that I operate with a modified Husqvarna 394XP. I use Bailey's ripping chain, and 32" and 20" oregon sproketnose bars, along with a 42" hardnose bar for the really big stuff. In addition to the Chainsaw mills, I own a BetterBuilt Ripsaw, a chainsaw powered portable bandsaw, which can process a 14" cant. I bought the mini-mill to square up cants before milling; I thought it would be easier to use the mini-mill with a guide plank for the initial cut.Turns out, except on smaller logs, say under 15", it is very difficult to keep a perfectly straight cut. With short logs, it works great; also works great for cutting giant logs in half up the middle, where the alaskan can't open up wide enough. BUT!, long bars are difficult to keep perfectly perpendicular to the guide plank, and want to turn inwards; you end up with a wavy cut, even with a very steady hand. Also, be prepared to eat dust with this one. It works best when positioned upside down, which aims the sawdust right at your face. Wear good sealed-face goggles and a respirator unless you like a lung full of sawdust and saw exhaust.

5Perfect for occasional use
By Patrick Austermann
I used this guide together with a McCulloch MS1640CC 16" 15-Amp/4-HP Electric Chain Saw to cut some 10" Maple logsinto boards of 1-2" thickness. It worked beautifully. I did not have any issues with the shield vibrating or coming loose. It is a great money saver if youare a woodworker and come across some (smaller) logs from timeto time.

4Works pretty good
By E. Winemiller
Not a bad little tool, only one small complaint. The screw used to secure the guard that covers the handle keeps vibrating loose no matter how tightly it's screwed down. A bolt and nut would probably fix the problem.I was concerned about using a tool that balances a chainsaw precariously on end, but once it was together it's actually pretty stable. Once you get a groove going, it doesn't take long to set up the cut and I probably spent more time fooling with keeping the saw started than setting up the cuts.Currently I haven't used it to saw planks just square up the sides and then rip into planks on the table saw. Everything I've tried is stuff I could pick up and stuff in the trunk of a mustang, typically about 8" diameter and about 3-4' long. That appears to be able the low end of what it's made to do.I used an Echo 440 saw to do the cuts. It's not bad for the limited amount of stuff I'm doing, if you're doing bigger material you'll probably want something with more oomph.Wear a helmet, if not for safety, to keep the shower of sawdust out of your hair.

Product Description

This new style dust collector will change the woodworking dust collection marketplace. Most woodworkers are looking for the most efficient dust collection system they can find, and the new JET canister filter dust collector, which filters down to 2 microns, delivers the superior dust collection today's woodworkers demand. The disposable clear plastic dust collection bag allows the user to remove debris directly to a trash can without creating a cloud of dust. The canister filter is cleaned by simply turning a handle on top of the unit that will shake the dust away from the filter material and into the collector bag.

5I love the Jet, and I love the JDS Dust Force Also
By Bob Feeser
Looks like Jet took dust collection to the next level, but I would like to clear a couple of things up. I have the JDS Dust Force, which moves 1250 CFM of air. It is built like a tank and is less expensive. Even with the optional 1 micron bag, in addition to the 5 micron bag that comes with it, is less money than the Jet unit. The JDS is built so well, I wonder how they can produce a unit that is so well built, for such a reasonable amount of money. The confusion arises around the bag change when cleaning the unit. The review mentions not having to take the top bag out and beat on it. Not so: All you simply have to do is pat it down, while it is still mounted, and all of the fine stuff that is stuck to it, drops directly down into the lower clear plastic bag. After that settles, you remove the bag, and dump it into a trash can with a 32 gallon trash bag liner. Yes it does create some dust going in, but I don't mind that because my Dust collector is located directly underneath a JDS ceiling mounted Air Filtration system. That also moves 750 CFM so any dust immediately is sucked up into the air filter. I also have a 3M charcoal and chemical cartridge mask hanging in front of me, so at times like this when dust is running amuck, I simply pull the top strap over my head for complete dust protection. Which brings me to the next subject. In the book, "Controlling Dust in the Shop" (highly recommended) the author states that the small particles of one micron or less are what you need to be concerned about. They are the ones that get lodged into your lungs. He mentions that even air filtration systems are a source of large amounts of small particles getting blown into the shop air. The ultimate is a cyclone air filtration system, with an exhaust to the outside, but who can afford three to ten times the price of this Jet unit. So the next best thing is to get a unit like this Jet, or the JDS, , the super inexpensive Woodstock collection separator, available here at Amazon, that sits on top of a 32 gallon trash can. That picks up all of the big stuff, leaving only the fine powder to go onto the Jet collector. That has an added advantage in preventing chunks of wood, or even worse yet, a screw-piece of metal from dancing off of the internal fan blade. Sparks in dust are not an ideal situation. Additionally it makes the whole clean out problem almost non existent. The big chunks are easy to slide out of the metal 32 gallon trash can, and that is not the material that has the fine dust in it. Another point is that the large amount of surface area that these large dust collectors have, saves you a lot of aggravation when planing wood. I used to use a Sears 6HP shop vac in combination with the Woodstock unit. The problem is that the fine powder that was making its way into the sears shop vac, would quickly bury the small filter in powder. (Even though it was Sears largest 6HP unit.) That would stop a sufficient amount of air flow which would jam up my planer. A major problem until I got the dust collector. The Jet and JDS dust collectors have some 40 plus square feet of surface area to absorb fine powder, instead of inches like the shop vac. So these systems are highly recommended. The one thing that I found, was that these portable systems are not designed to give you the same amount of pressure you would need for a whole shop system. You know the kind of results you would need to have a complete metal piped ductwork system, with each tool hooked up to a station. These units are portable, and designed to be used on one or two machines. In addition to the JDS Dust Collector, which is ideal for planing and other heavy dust creating procedures, I recently acquired a 5HP shop vac that draws a powerful amount of air, and has an optional HEPA filter which traps 99.97% of particles down to .3 microns, (yes point three, instead of a whole 1 or 5) This is ideal for those tools that don't create a ton of dust, like router stations. Combining that with an emergency cut off switch, with two outlets, gives me the convenience of walking up to the router, hitting one button, getting both the shop vac, and the router go on at the same time, and one quick touch on the off flap, and it is back off again. I tuck the vac under the router table, so it doesn't get in the way, and no vac hose to trip over running across the floor. At a recent local sale, I picked up a couple of them. Between the super quiet vac model, and the quiet router, sometimes I go over and turn it on just to smile. It is that ideal for the purpose. So get the Jet dust collector, (or the JDS Dust Force, check it out) and get the Woodstock International Collection separator, a ceiling mounted air filtration system, and most importantly a 3M paint spray respirator, because none of these systems really get the job done. The job is avoiding getting the super fine particles into your lungs. What I really wanted to share with you is the awareness of what a problem super fine particles are. I know these dust collectors and filtration systems, have a tendency of creating a false sense of security. They are great, and serve a much needed task. Notice when you first walk into the shop in the morning, turn on the dust collector, or air filtration unit, then smell the air. You can smell the wood powder as it pours out into the air. That smell is the small micron or less particles being sent out into the air. Get a mask, and during the warm times, install a fan in a window, with a fresh air source coming from an across the room opening. Take care of your lungs, hope this helps.

5State of The Art Dust Collector at a Great Price
By John R. Bachorik
Ordered this DC-1100CK Dust Collector System through Amazon.com. Took only 8 days to arrive from date of order. The system was delivered by UPS Ground. There were two large separate boxes that were unloaded and left by my garage door. All items were extremely well packaged and there were no damaged parts. Assembly of the entire unit took about 1 1/2 hours with no interruptions. The assembly instructions provided by Jet are excellent. The canister filter system is state-of-the-art all the way. Simply amazing at how efficient this system is. Absolutely no dust whatsover escapes from my table saw, band saw or radial arm saw when attached to the DC-1100CK system. Clear plastic collection bags are a great plus as you know when they need to be emptied or replaced. Jet even included 4 extra bags with the shipment!!! I did not have any of the leaks at the entrance port of the unit that other reviewers have noted in the past. I imagine that Jet has corrected the problem at the factory. My unit was perfect in every way. Very high quality components and great paint finish. This unit provides a huge amount of suction and is very quiet in operation. The large, high grade casters on the base of the unit make it very easy to move around my shop from tool to tool. If you are considering a dust collection system for your shop, this is definitely the one to get!!!!! Jet has a real winner here!!!! Cudos to them for a job extremely well done!!!

4Great value in dust collection
By A Customer
Assembly took about 1.5 hours and went together pretty easy, some of the directions are for the non-canister version but are easily skipped. Getting the canister mounted perfectly so there is no sawdust leak is somewhat hard, I ended up getting it as close as possible and using foil tape to finish it. The joint where the 5" inlet for the hose hookup from the blower unit attaches to the filter and collection assembly also leaks. Some caulk and more foil tape closed that off as well. After those two fixes the unit works very well, moves a great deal of air, and is quieter then my old shop vac. Putting the collection bags in and taking them out is very fast and easy. The bag is folded over a round and somewhat springy hoop that is then put into the collection collar and is completely sealed by pulling down on the bag. Took a couple try's the first time to get used to it but is now easy. No leaks have been noticed yet around the bag. I haven't filled the bag yet so I don't know what removal of a full bag is like yet, but after playing around with the collar to get used to it I don't foresee any problems.

After being somewhat disappointed with the performance of the 4" hose and doing some research online I removed the 6" to dual 4" port adapter on the blower hosing and attached a 10' long 6" hose directly to it. This runs to a shop made replacement door on the table saw to get a 6" port on the saw instead of the standard 4". This made an unbelievable improvement in the collection from the table saw. Virtually no dust collects inside the saw cabinet and only a little comes off the top of the blade. I think an over arm guard with a collector pickup would eliminate that as well resulting in almost 100% pickup. With a couple y adapters and blast gates I made two more runs, one to a miter saw and one to the workbench. The run to the miter saw is then split with another y with one branch going to a 4" port cut under the saw and one to the built in 1.5" port on the upper arm. This picks up probably 80-85% or so of the dust. The run to the bench is for the router and hand held sanders and picks up virtually all the dust from those. These are the only tools I have hooked up and cannot comment on collection from any others, but I don't expect any problems as long as the hose and ductwork is laid out correctly.

Overall I am happy with the purchase and would make the same decision again, the only disappointment was with the leaks around the filter and hose hookup assembly mentioned earlier. This was not a deal breaker however due to the easy nature of the fix. The decision to not go with a cyclone unit was based on cost and mobility. This was less then half the price of an equivalent cyclone unit with similar performance and filtering and can be moved around to different areas, a requirement in my garage shop. If needed I believe this unit has enough power to add a separator, but I won't have time to try that for quite some time.
