5Excellent Print Quality
By A Customer
I purchased this printer 12/03 and I am a satisfied customer to date. The print quality is excellent, no smudges and it prints pages at a high speed. I thought a starter toner cartridge would be included with the printer but I went though an entire tax season printing numerous returns and IRS publications and I am still using the same cartridge. One minor problem is the noise level. It is loud! At first, you may be tempted to "dash" out of the room. I actually has mine in a closet (it is connected to a linksys wireless print server). Setting up the printer was relatively easy and if you decide to connect wirelessly that process is easy as well.

I recommend the printer for the quality print, the small size and the cost per page. (...) I believe a USB cable is included with the printer but not a parallel cable.

5Great printer for those who want quality black & white work
By Byron Walter
Oh my! Whether printing lab reports from a windows XP system or via the USB port on my Windows 98 Toshiba notebook this printer flies. The lab data is simple stuff but I usually print PageMaker & Excel files via PostScript with my notebook. This printer sucks it all down and spits it out with beautiful results. The 2300 represents a big step in print quality and speed up from my old HP 4mp. Big thumbs up.

5A fantastic printer at a great price!
By Eric J. Fridman
I bought this printer to replace an old HP Laserjet 2100TN. The 2100TN is five years old and still runs flawlessly.

Anyway, this 2300 is great. The noise level doesn't matter to me, but it seems to be about the same noise level as any other black and white laser I've owned - no better no worse.

This printer is definitely very fast. I also like the ability to set so many options through the buttons on the front and to see information on the display. My old printer didn't have a display, just colored lights, so this is a big improvement.

I was even more pleasantly surprised when I found that I was able to take my network card from my old Laserjet and put it in the new one. Surprised once again when I found that my optional extra paper tray worked on the new printer too. And lastly, memory upgrades for this unit are quite inexpensive, and easy to install.

This is a fabulous printer, and I can't say enough good things about it.

5Great replacement for my old Laserjet 4P
By A Customer
This unit replaces a ten-year old printer. The HP site had a tool that recommended the 2300 as a replacement for the old 4P. If the 2300 performs as well, I'll be blessed. Early indicators are this unit is a winner. The print quality is fantastic. The output is quick. Install was easy. The features are better than the old unit.I spent the extra money for HP reliability. I just can't skimp with my home office set up because work interruptions would be more expensive than I can stand.I have no time or patience for paper jams, streaking or tech support calls. Need it all to work flawlessly all the time. HP rocks!

5Workhorse printer!
By Jeffrey S. Foster
Got this replacement printer for my Accountant, she is used to a particular one and figured it would be simpler for her to just replace it with the exact model. Just a word of caution, if you buy a used one, best to reset all defaults then go through each menu matching the settings with your old one, it will take out a lot of headaches when installing it... :) It was less expensive to buy the new printer than to buy the parts to fix the old, and this one came with all new internal parts. :)

4A good duplexing laser printer - recommended!
By C. J. Carter
I took the plunge into printer ownership with this solid device from HP. I've used it daily for a couple of months or more and it has proven capable and reliable.Pros:a) Very good print qualityb) Reliable duplexer - has never jammed on mec) Fast printingd) Compacte) Generally, simple to useCons:a) Feels slightly lightweight and `squeaky', could be more robustly made. Fairly noisy when running.b) Arrived with a power cable that had a defective molding at the plug - exposing live metal within!c) Manual-feed tray options are poorly explained in the manual, and require fiddling about with when printing on various envelopes, for example.I was glad to see a brand-name duplexing laser printer at a reasonable price at last! Although I'd love to print in colour, ink-jets have scared me off due to the extortionate prices of the ink cartridges. I know very few people who are truly happy with their ink-jet printers after they discover their `bargain' requires one or more cartridges at $40-$50 a time; pretty soon they have paid more for ink than they forked over for the printer itself. Clever marketing, but very unfair on the poor consumer. On the other hand, good grayscale printing in duplex meets 95% of my needs admirably - and this printer delivers it.This would be a good buy for a home or small home office.

5Satisfied with the HP 2300n LaserJet Printer
By David E. Weaver
I've had my HP 2300n LaserJet printer for 8 months, and I'm very satisfied with it. It's my second HP LaserJet. My first was a LaserJet IIID which I bought in 1992 and still use today. I wouldn't have bought the 2300n except that some movers handled my IIID roughly and damaged the duplexing unit which I had been using almost constantly. It really saves paper and file space to print on both sides. When not in use, the 2300n goes into a power-down mode which is silent and makes it seem to be turned off except that an indicator light lets you know it's still on. Send a print job to it while powered down and it immediately springs to life and processes the task just as if it had not been powered down at all. This is a great feature because the machine does not wear itself out whirring away, making noise and using energy as the IIID does when not turned off.The 2300n is fast. The IIID's speed of 8ppm was considered fast when I bought it, but after getting used to 25ppm, I'd hate to give it up. The 2300n prints at a pace I associate more with photocopiers. My IIID had excellent print quality until last year, about 11 years after I bought it. The output has become dirty. It needs cleaning and servicing, but that's not practical now, especially considering that I live far from a service center and my 12 year-old IIID printer weighs 75 pounds.By comparison, the thirty-one pound 2300n is much easier to lift and move. I also like the fact that it takes up much less space than the IIID does, and it doesn't have those paper trays protruding out of it. The paper is nicely tucked away inside, where it should be, in an easy to open drawer. To accomplish this, the machine is intelligently designed to be slightly taller which is not a problem at all, just a better use of space. The IIID has only 300 dpi resolution which is fine for text, but not so fine for graphics. The 2300n prints beautiful graphics, not in color, of course, but when I want color, I use an inkjet. When I want to print a picture with the 2300n, the high resolution is very nice.I'm still using the toner cartridge that came with the shipped unit, but I keep a spare cartridge on hand. A great feature of the 2300n is the economical printing mode. I can easily turn this feature on and off (from within the Windows XP printing menu) and make my toner supply last longer. Unlike with the IIID, which also has an adjustment for toner consumption, with the 2300n, the econo-mode feature takes effect immediately. It makes the print lighter, but it's still quite readable and appropriate for those times when dark print quality is not needed.Whenever I think of my HP 2300n LaserJet, I always get a nice feeling. I can't think of anything I don't like about it. It takes up little space, It's fast, It duplexes, It's economical with time, energy and toner, It's quiet, It networks, It has wireless capability, It's plug and play, It has an easy to use control panel on the front, and I feel confident that it will perform whenever I call on it.I've come to trust the Hewlett Packard name for quality and performance. I teach English at a university in Japan where I write and print a lot of educational materials. Sometimes I make workbooks and print them in my office. I need a workhorse of a printer I can depend on to produce clean clear results. If my 2300n holds up only half as well as my old IIID did, I'll still be very satisfied.

4Decent Product
By Mark Harkey
I have used a gas pole saw by Husqvarna in the past so I am familiar with these saws. Overall this product is decent. It doesn't cut as sweet as the Husqvarna but it gets the job done. The older reviews in this sequence are for an outdated model that they no longer sell. They fixed most of the problems that people reported below. The latest saw has a hex shaped pole so you can identify it as the latest version. I would recommend this saw for light duty sawing only.Don't think that because this saw is electric with lots of plastic that it is light and easy to maneuver. Extended fully out it takes some strength to use. The Husqvarna is only 6 feet long and lighter, but 3 feet shorter than the longer reach of the Remington. The Husqvarna also sells for 5 times more than the cost of the Remington which makes the Remington a bargain. What makes this saw clumsy to use is the motor location. For example, the Husqvarna has the motor located below your hands. The saw is driven by a gear internal to the pole. That feature is also its limitation, in that the length is not adjustable. With most of the weight positioned below your hands the saw is easy to manipulate. But for the Remington, the motor is at the end of the pole. That puts the balance point at the wrong end which makes it harder to maneuver when fully extended. Set to 6 feet it's not bad. Some of the battery operated pole saws put the weight at the bottom where it should be and could also be a consideration. My only real complaint about this saw is the oiler which didn't work well. Since I'm experienced with chain saws I could see that the amount of oil feed on the chain after repeated pumping was still inadequate. I investigated this later and opened the hole a bit in the plastic oil reservoir which helped. To do this you have to take the chain off. Be careful to put the chain back on the correct way when you're finished. They are not universal with respect to direction. Always use bar chain oil and not motor oil. I had no problems with my oil cap or leakage. Most do-it-yourselfer's don't pay enough attention to safety with these tools and the instructions included don't emphasize that enough. You should treat this tool like a gas-operated tool. I strongly suggest buying at minimum the helmet that is made by Husqvarna with the built in face shield and ear cups. Trust me even with experience my helmet has saved my head while using a pole saw. A lot of the time you stand under the branch you are cutting, and the inevitable can happen. Second and optionally, I would recommend the Husqvarna leather gloves. It helps griping the tool and protects your hands from dings and from bugs and spiders when later moving the cut pieces. With a gas model and for serious cutting I would also recommend the chaps and safety shoes. The Remington also does not have anti-kickback protection built in like most gas model chain saws do, and it also does not have a built in chain brake when you release the trigger like most gas models do. That's why I wouldn't recommend using just the chain saw part of this for serious cutting. I say this because many will use this saw without the pole as a regular chain saw. For serious cutting, this saw doesn't even compete with a gas model chain saw for cutting through thick tree limbs, and a gas model will have all the safety features built in. Use it for what it was intended for and you should be ok.

5Little Champ!
By Christian Stovall
I bought this little guy the same day I bought a proper gas-powered chainsaw (16" Homelite), both at Home Depot. It took care of all of the limbs around my roofline without a problem. Other than being a little awkward with the pole fully extended (mostly just heavy and long), the operation of the saw, with or without the pole, was very straightforward. I wish I could say the same for the Homelite. After the REAL chainsaw blade came off twice and got too dull to even use, I pulled out the Remington and fell 4 10" diameter oak trees without a problem. Clearly this saw is not to be your primary and dragging around the cord is tedious but it will dispatch limbs without a second thought and if you need it to go a little further, it'll gladly do it. I was reluctant when I bought it, but very glad that I did once I put it to use.

3Great saw but???
By rnbcpe
I purchased one of these 10" pole saws this summer and used it about three times before the chain started jumping off the drive gear. I found that a "c" clip for the plate that holds the chain on the drive gear had popped off. I replaced the clip, but it only stayed on for one more run. I purchased Remington's 14" trimmer version and mounted it to the pole and haven't had any problems since. Some of these saws have the "c" clip and some have bolts holding the plate in place. Beware of the "c" clip.

5Hottest Wok I've Ever Used
By A Customer
This Wok has some serious heat. As a professional chef with Asian style recipes on the menu I've used many a stove top wok. Until now I'd never found an electric wok that could generate enough heat to sear in the flavors of meats and vegetables. Not only does the Breville Electric Wok deliver as much heat as a top of the range stove top wok, its surface is non-stick so I can use less oil for healthier results. Every thing about the wok is clever, from the detachable base, to the dishwasher safe parts, to the cook and look glass lid. Whoever designed this is in to wok cooking in a big way. Very clever, very stylish, very hot.

5Great HOT wok - with terrific instructions
By Andante51
I've done a fair amount of stirfry over the years, and for a long time had a professional level one similar to this Breville. Once it died, I did not get another, and anytime I tried to do stirfry on the oven it was a disaster. Even a new pretty powerful $800 gas oven did NOT get the on-the-stove pan hot enough. I would end up 'stewing' the food, and it bore little resemblance to my stirfry's of the past.I was VERY impressed with the excellent instructions that are provided in the book this comes with. I studied all their tips for an hour, and was amazed at the things I did NOT know, or had forgotten. Someone who never stirfried before could get first rate results by studying just a few pages. Little things are important - I used to just turn it on, and throw in the oil and wait for it to get hot. WRONG! You are supposed to turn it on EMPTY, let it get VERY hot, and only then put in the oil. And I realized I had started to get lazy, and was not doing smaller batches of items at a time, which does end up with better results. If I need to get things out of the pan, I just hold a big bowl or plastic container next to it, and slide stuff up the side and out - or I just tip it up and dump it on a plate. Although it is good to know that once every few months I could actually take it apart for an old-fashioned cleaning, all you really need to do is wipe it out with a sponge. The non-stick surface is fantastic. The temperature dial is excellent, and it comes with the most heavy duty cord you ever saw!Stir-fry is my teenaged son's favorite meal, and without a good wok, I hardly ever cooked it for him. Now when I tell him we're having stir-fry, he's thrilled. Remember this thing would be good for a lot more than just stirfry too. I was amazed that it could slow cook as well. I can make beef stew a one pot dish. Can't wait to try it out on tempura, which it will also be great for! There are also a lot of great recipes in the book.

3Wok is really hot but what's with the non-stick surface?
By Daniel F. Moore
I bought this wok based on the reviews posted here. I have to say that I agree that it gets really hot and I am amazed at how well it performs. That being said, I have noticed that the non-stick surface has a lot of surface scratches and I use a plastic spatula. Yesterday, I made Beef Lo Mein and the pan was just as great as beforehand. However, upon washing it up in the sink, I noticed that a piece of the non-stick had peeled off. My experience with that coating suggests that this will continue to occur as I use the appliance more often. This is very disappointing as this is the best performing wok that I have ever used. I'm crossing my fingers hoping that the non-stick won't continue to peel. That would certainly betray the overall performance of an otherwise excellent appliance

By J. K. Halvorosn
After extensive research I chose the Hitachi roofing nailer and was not at all disappointed. The nailer proved to perform excellent under all conditions. No matter how fast I went it did not misfire or jam. The only time I did have a problem was when I went to use it for the first time. After it was "broke in" it performed excellent. My roofing contractor said that he would buy it from me whenever I wish to sell it (he had to try it out also). I am very satisfied with the purchase I made and have no buyers remorse on this item.

5Cosco Superfold Ladder
By IChingUChing
I am impressed with the sturdiness of this ladder, bought for the features it touted -- portability, compactness, ease of setting up and taking down. Most important to me with the ladders is how safe I feel using them, and this is a five star. It's solid with several safety features that let me get up high with sure footing. Folding it up again is quick, simple and secure and it takes up little space tucked into a corner.

3three-step stool
By Diana T. Rocine
I thought I was buying a ladder with steps on both sides like two previous ladders purchased. This one has steps only on one side and it's considerably weaker than the first two. It, like most things in the new industrial world is in a constant evolution of degradation (for economic reasons I guess).
