5Accept no substitutes
By E. Franz
A dutch oven is one of the most versatile items you can find. Many people I know are intimidated by cooking with dutch ovens, but when you take a few minutes to learn how, you can use it to cook anything! It can be used with variety of foods: stews, cakes, cobblers, breads, poultry, vegetables (basically anything you make in a conventional oven). If you happen to forget to pack your skillet when you go camping, turn over the lid and put it back on the dutch oven. Voila! Instant skillet-type cooking surface!Having used a variety of dutch ovens in my life, I can tell you for sure, Lodge dutch ovens are the best. They are durable and well-crafted. If you have ever had the experience of cooking with a dutch oven that was not a Lodge, you will know what I mean. You should look for a dutch oven that has a lip on the lid for keeping coals on, and sturdy legs, to keep from crushing the coals. Lodge dutch ovens have these features, and are made of quality cast iron. Lodge also has many accessories for cooking, such as lid lifters and lid rests, inserts for muffins, etc.Dutch ovens make a great gift for the camper in your life. Highly recommended!

4Another fabulous Lodge product
By M Frederick
This is the 2nd and most recent addition to our rapidly-growing family Lodge inventory. The size is excellent for our family of 5. Between this and our 14" deep camp Dutch Oven, I've almost decided to get rid of the RV oven! I can't believe we've camped for 7 years without a Dutch Oven. The only thing I don't like about the original finish is the smell in the house during the seasoning process. I'd recommend "cooking" it for the hour in the morning before work then turning off the oven and leaving the house. An attic fan would've come in very handy. You simply can't beat cast iron cookware, and Lodge makes the best. Don't let the price fool you. I'm in the process of throwing out all of my "nonstick" cookware and replacing it with Lodge cast iron.

5Your lodge will outlive you
By Fruit Loop
The effectiveness of this dutch oven lies in its design which served chuck wagons a century ago and campers today! Cast Iron is ALWAYS a good value for the money and it's indestructable (I'm still using my mother's Lodge skillet that she got for a wedding gift in 1954). This dutch oven, designed specifically for the camp or fireplace cook, goes from the fire to the table with ease. It stews and bakes beautifully - get a dutch oven cookbook and learn how to make campfire biscuits as well as those stews and chilis! Also makes a fabulous wedding, shower, or housewarming gift. Forget expensive wedding registries - buy the bride a lodge dutch oven and skillet. She'll hand them down to the next generation. Every camper can use this and so can every backyard griller. Highly recommend!

5Recommended!
By Dennis M. Quill
I recently bought this case to hold my 17" HP7000 notebook and it's almost like it was made for it.

It has a good amount of storage on it -- nice big pouch in front that I have to use for my power adapter. It also has other pockets in the pouch for pens, etc.

The inside has plenty of addition pockets for cd's, business cards and more, and the padding in nice and thick for protecting the computer.

The back has another small pouch for paper, and also an additional zipped compartment with a separator for important papers.

I'm very impressed by the all metal hardware and the large rubber padding on the bottom edges.

This is an excellent case, and the price is a huge bonus. I found it recommended on a forum and am glad that I took their advice, and wanted to pass that along.

The only con that I found is that if you've got a 17" notebook and you want to bring along your power adapter and an additional battery, you will run out of room. Aside from that, go for it!

5Great case for bigger laptops
By A Customer
This case fits easily 15.4" widescreen laptops and you still can place battery on the side. A 17" laptop would probably fit too (I never tried), but the battery won't into the main compartment. Most stores like BestBuy or CircuitCity have this case on display so if you want to use this case for 17" laptop, go to the store and check it out. But buy it here, it's $60 in the stores... (currently the price on amazon is $46.54) For smaller laptops (14" or 15") check out CBT300 Targus case.

Main compartment of this notebook case has two parts with adjustable width: a bigger part is used for laptop itself, and smaller one can be used for battery and power unit. A little nice zipped bag for these two is included. In the middle of the main compartment there is a strap that fixes a laptop in place and it feels really secure.

There are two zipped pockets for files and documents - one inside and one outside. There are two more pockets outside, I used them to put there magazines when I travel.

Overall, this case has very solid feel and is really well padded. The rubber Compu-Tread that runs on the outside of the case (bottom and sides when standing) is very good protection.

One thing that might be of concern is that shoulder strap cannot be adjusted to be really short. I experimented and the shortest I got was 3'6" (provided, you want to keep padded part of it in the middle). For people shorter than medium height that could be a problem.

Other than that I am really happy with this case. It looks stylish and slim, goes well with both casual and business attire. And Targus has lifetime warranty on it. I would recommend it 100%!

5Ideal for Dell Inspiron 9300
By Sean O'Connor
I just bought this notebook case for my Dell Inspiron 9300, and I'm very pleased with it. My Amazon order arrived early without a hitch. The laptop fits snugly into the main compartment with a velcro hold down strap. My mouse, CD's for data backup and cables fit into the internal pocketed compartments. The charger/power cord fits into a separate bag and gets placed along with the laptop. So enough room for all my accessories. The case is sturdy, with what seems to be a steel reinforcement bar and lots of padding. It's going to be a bit heavy when fully loaded with laptop and accessories. The case looks very nice; better than in its photographs.

5Portable Office
By L. Shirley
After reading the earliest review of this "Targus Notepac-Notebook Case", I reentered my search for it by using the bar code(092636920104). I wanted to make sure we are talking about the same case, and we are. As the most recent reviewer has stated, this must be a newer and updated, and improved version of the case.I just bought this recently and I love it. It holds all portable and mobile equipment safely and snugley. I have a 14" screen on my lap top, and I know it is well protected by the nice cushioned padding around the inside section. One of the side pads is velcro adjustable. It forms a compartment where the adujustable shoulder strap sits, but once the strap is removed and used on the case, you can move the padding over(or remove it completely, as the case is cushioned all around) to accomadate a little larger screen(up to 15.4"). Two way zippers keep the case closed nicely.A ton a storage space. The inside of the top cover has a document sleeve, three scratch resistant Disc sleeves, a pocket shaped for media and mobile gadgets, and another pocket that will hold at least 2 encased CDs. Both pockest fastened with velcro. Good use is made of the outer areas as well. Both sides have plenty of roomy storage areas. A large pocket on one side, has a velcro closing flap and inside of the pocket are compartments for a cell phone, pens, business cards, and a key holder. This section also has room for papers, you may need to get to without opening up the whole case. The other side also is nice and roomy for books(not too thick) and files, and also closes with velcro. I like to keep all my loose papers in here. The material is sturdy, the case is reinforced at stress points and seems strong. I didn't find the handle to be too hard(maybe this is one of the improvements as well), it has two non skid "feet" on the bottom, which will also protect the case. It's nice looking in black and, has everything you could want for a good portable office. A great buy and highly recommended for those on the go!Thanks ... Gotta go....Laurie

Anyone that is holding off buying this because you think you are going to get whats pictured, dont let that stop you. They just have an old picture. I bought this and it is the new version of the OCN1 case. Look on the targus website and you will see what it looks like. The new one is much nice and have places for cds instead of flopyp disks. Hope this helps someone.

3Fits large computers, but don't expect too much
By A Customer
This bag is roomy enough to fit comfortably even my Dell Inspiron 8100 with 15.1" screen (the dimensions of my laptop are 13.03" wide, 10.8" deep, and 1.75" thick, which is apparently quite large in the laptop universe). However, it's obviously Targus's no-frills model.

It's quite slim, which can be good for short jaunts, but also comes with some disadvantages. Most obviously, the padding is skimpy. That applies not only to that around the main compartment but also to that covering the handle (made of really stiff fake leather) and the detachable shoulder strap. "Marginal" would be too generous a description; this case is definitely not made for long trips with heavy interiors, not unless you expect to be shifting the bag from shoulder to shoulder or hand to hand every few moments.

Also, there aren't many extra pockets. In fact, there's only one external pocket (the 13" x 9" x 2" one), which opens and closes only by Velcro, and has no sub-pockets. Yes, there are smaller subdivided pockets inside the main compartment where your computer will live, and this compartment nicely opens with dual sturdy zippers along three of four sides. But these smaller subdivided pockets face directly onto your precious laptop itself, without any padding other than the thin film of nylon that holds your extra goodies in place. Personally I would never use those pockets for anything firm and bumpy, even pens, for fear of cracking my laptop's case. That makes those pockets basically unusable unless for soft things like papers, which would fit better in the outer pocket anyway.

There's also a gimmicky removable divider in the main compartment just in case your notebook is so small that you can fit your AC adapter right beside it in the main compartment, in which case you can use the padded divider (detachable by Velcro, of course) to create separate living spaces for those two items. There's also a Velcro strap in the main compartment to restrain your laptop in its living space.

Basically, this case is adequate, for low expectations. But high expectations would include being comfortable carrying the case and bringing lots of additional items, for example if you want this to be your only carry-on piece of luggage. The only way you'd fit your hardback Harry Potter in this bag is if you left your computer at home.

4Mixed success
By A Customer
I purchased the dpr 1001 in October and auditioned it for 2 weeks before returning it. Please take note that this is really, for the most part a positive review, and overall I was very impressed with this unit. Although it didn't quite fit my needs, it very well may fit yours.

This reciever is an entirely new technology so you really can't directly compare it to an analog amp. The amplifier section is entirely digital making this one of the first of it's kind. I could easily take pages with this review, but I'll try to sum it up with a pro and con list:

Pro:Tons of inputs, many assignable. One of the coolest features of this is the ability to map inputs, much the same way as an audio mixing board. For example, you can tell the unit to use the optical 2 input for Video 1, or Video 2, etc, without moving any plugs. You can also tell it to turn the front panel jacks from inputs to outputs to record something to your mp3 or camcorder. Very nice.

Extremely quiet. The noise floor on this thing is about the quietest I ever heard, almost high-end. The amp is very revealing, a solo violin recording sounds startlingly realistic. Also the tiny details in movie soundtracks such as the whizzing bullets in Saving Private Ryan sounded absolutely clearer and more present than on anything else I'd ever heard, including a set of 6,000$ seperates I auditioned recently at a local high-end boutique. That impressed the heck out of me.

The HK Vmax processing is the first "play your cd's through all the speakers faux surround" I ever heard that actually sounded good. This makes the dsp on my old Yamaha sound like a 1950's reverb tank. Awsome.

Very small and light compared to other recievers in it's class. Since the digital amp puts out much less heat than an analog one, it doesn't require big, heavy heatsinks. Picking up this reciever feels like you're holding a cheap vcr rather than an expensive reciever.

Big LED display you can see across the room and a great remote that is easy to set up and use.

Cons:

This unit has only one real con in my opinion, but it was big enough to make me reluctanly pack it up and send it back; and that is the power delivery. The PWM digital amps sound remarkably clean, BUT they seriously lack the dynamic punch of an analog. They had a difficult time driving my PSB bookshelf monitors, and they are pretty efficient. In plain speaking, the amp sounded clean and bright, maybe a bit too bright, but lacked power. Everything sounded a touch brittle and the bass was significantly lacking. I am an longtime audiophile and no matter how feature packed and impressive a receiver is, if it doesn't sound great, it's useless for me. Ultimately it failed my acid test for sound quality, but just by a hair. Keep in mind I am extremely picky, being an audio engineer and someone who owned high-end seperates in his single, pre-child days, and i am sure a great number of people would be pleased as punch with the sound delivered by the 1001, especially classical fans, as the lack of high-current delivery and lower-mid punch isn't as much of an issue.

To sum it up quickly and simply. This is a reciver that does everything you could want it to, and very well. If you are either a fan of quieter music (chamber, folk, etc) or are mostly concerned with the home theatre performance, i recommend this highly. If, however you plan on driving inefficient audiophile speakers, or using it primarily for rock music, you may want to consider the superior current delivery and more potent bass/midbass punch of one of HK's analog models. I think the digital amp technology is in it's infancy, and although it's not quite there yet, in another few years, who knows?

5An EXCELLENT receiver and value!!
By A Customer
I just purchased this receiver less than a week ago and I am amazed at the value and apparent quality of the piece, especially considering the currently discounted price. The sound is clean, and answering to perhaps one of my biggest concerns, 50 digital watts per channel is more than adequate for a basic home theatre/stereo system. It blows my 80 watt, 2-channel analog (piece of junk) JVC amp out of the water! I am so happy I bought this receiver!

As other reviewers have noted, the sound is clean, perhaps "too clean" for some audiophiles, however I play reggae, trance, and rock music, loud, and it sounds great! There is adequate bass, and I suspect the addition of a powered subwoofer will take it over the top - that is next on my list.

I suspect that some users who wrote reviews did not have the desire or patience to work through the somewhat laborious set-up required to optimize the sound. While the setup requires a somewhat sizeable time commitment, once you finish it is unlikely that you will ever have to deal with it again, at least until you make a change to your system. It is worth it because an accurate setup results in the cleanest sound I have ever heard, no matter what the source (DVD, CD, PC, TV/Cable, Laptop, Tape, Tuner, etc...I have all 7 of these sources hooked up). 6 of the inputs have connections on the back, while the seventh is made through the jacks on the front of the machine.

I think the biggest asset this receiver brings to the table, besides the crystal-clear sound, is the fact that each of the digital inputs can be mapped and assigned to any number of the seven available sources. There are more than enough digital inputs (3 coax, 3 optical) and outputs (1 dedicated coax, one dedicated optical), owing in part to the fact that one set of input jacks can be reversed from their default setting to become outputs - leaving you with two digital ins, and two digital outs (both coax and optical).

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT, esp. for $500, there is no better value anywhere! And in the words of another reviewer, "This is the best purchase I have ever maid!!!" I recommend that reviewer purchase spell check next!

4Nice amp
By Nigel
I finally had to retire my Kenwood 2080. I liked the idea of an all digtal path. This Amp seemed to be the perfect fit. With my old amp you wire the inputs, wire the speakers, set the surround volumes and you're done.In this Harmon Kardon I was faced with a starship enterprise type remote that comes onscreen, but is poorly designed. I've never hit so many wrong keys in my life. Up and down move the speaker selection (although not in a logical order). I think I was spoilt by the 2080 remote that only added icons I needed to the huge LCD display. I tried controlling my DVD with the remote but you have to be fast, it reverts back to AVR within a couple of seconds (I'm assuming there's another setting somewhere to increase the remote time).I liked the fact I wired an input then associated it (very nice to have, e.g. COAXIAL 3 is linked to VIDEO 4)Now for the outputs, wire the speakers, set the level and sit back and listen. Good in theory but I then switched between my 5.1 source on my satellite and my DVD - all the speakers were wrong again. It turned out that every input mode (5.1 , stereo, DTS, Dolby Pro logic) has its owned settings . I kept getting a deep sense of Deja Vu as I recycled through the various types in my various sources. My Bose AM10s weren't sounding quite right so after back reading BOSE manuals I realised the cross over frequency was wrong. I changed it and things started to sound better. I also realised that I had accidentally set the bass on the L/R channels to go to the sub instead of LFE only. After another 10 or so more Deja Vu settings with the various inputs I was finally cooking. There's a nice EZSET feature to get the speaker levels, there's also a manual set that will show you the Db level to balance (very nice). This amp has a very nice sound on low volumes, I've had it all the way up and there's minimal distortion. On the levels we normally use for movies and music it's very pleasant to listen to. If you like rock concert volumes then you may find this amp runs out of steam. It's the lowest power amp I've owned in many years but is more than sufficient for me.

Overall I'm keeping it, after setting all the various levels on all my digital inputs I feel I owe it to myself. This thing took a while to setup but now remembers all the various combinations and is low maintenance. Anyone who thinks this has a great remote has never used a great remote (like the high end Kenwood amps have).

4Difficult to put together, wheels don't swivel well
By Flavia E. Banu
It took two of us to put this bassinet together. The casters kept slipping so we had to screw them in ourselves; the wheels don't swivel in all directions. Other than that, it's pretty sturdy. We realize now that the canopy which is supposed to go up and down doesn't stay up any more. We had to reinforce the screws that hold it up.The basket below has a mesh on the bottom that doesn't cover the whole bottom of it so when we put stuff there, it sometimes falls through and ends up on the floor. We actually put the baby laundry there now because the mesh is not sturdy enough to put heavier stuff on. I guess it's ok for the price and it does look pretty.I like that the bassinett part comes off - for traveling - but when it's on the base it's very secure. A little more padding on the sides wouldn't hurt.

4Beautiful Piece
By BulldogFan
This is a nice color green. Lighter than what the picture shows, but I like the pale color much better. It was fairly easy to put together, but the caster knobs are flimsy, so DO NOT over tighten them, they will crack easily. If you do happen to crack one, go to the manufacturer's website, they will replace free of charge if purchased within the past 30 days.

3Faulty parts
By PenEllaPeaChoco
The only complain that I have is that some of the parts did not have the screw holes drilled in them like the instructions said. If my dad hadn't been here to help me, I would have had to wait for them to send me the parts. The instructions overall could have been better. I'm not sure how long it will last as a toy box since the sides are pretty flimsy.

4The George Foreman of fridges.
By Shawn Kresal
This device delivers on its promise: it honestly does chill your soda/beer/wine orders of magnitude faster than the fridge or the freezer. The downside is that it does not do the chilling by itself: water and ice must be supplied. The directions recommend two trays of ice and two cups cold water, which is more than enough for getting a 12-pack to 38F. My experience was that it took 25% longer using only one tray of ice. The device makes a tiny amount of noise, say 1/10th that of a dish washer, but they brilliantly have a "no spin" (quiet) mode should you be using this in an office/baby nursery/library. The button layout and design are extremely well thought out. Press "Can", or "bottle", and "spin" or "no spin".

All appliances should be this effective and easy to use.

1Cool but doesn't chill...
By A Customer
So I got the Cooper Cooler for my office. It seemed so cool and slick. And the description said it brings soda cans down to 34 degrees in a minute. Doesn't get much better than that right? WRONG!The little detail the editorial forgot to mention was that you have to put ice-cubes (YES, ICE CUBES) in the device in order for it to cool down your soda. Well, I've got a news flash for you - if I had ice cubes handy I could put them in my soda and be done with it. And ice cubes are much cheaper than this device. So bear in mind this cooler is only useful if you have a real fridge near by and want to cool things fast. That's the only valid use-case. There you go.

5Really works, chills drinks fast and easily, great for wine
By Wright Now
I was skeptical at first that it would work, but I got one after I saw it featured in Kiplingers magazine. It worked as advertised. Chills my beer/soda cans quick in one minute and my bottles in three and a half minutes and like they say, it dosen't fizz over which I was really skeptical about. Glass bottles can sometimes rattle a bit but this dosen't seem to be a problem since its still not fizzy. Also great for chilling my wine quickly to the proper serving temp. I never really noticed the taste difference until I used my Cooper Cooler to chill my white wines to the recommended temperature in the mid-low 50s (only took three and a half minutes!!!) vs refrigerator temp which they say is too cold for most white wines. I was surprised that the difference in serving temp had an impact on the wine's taste, flavor, etc... It can sometimes groove the wine labels, but I don't care, but FYI if you collert the labels they have a no spin mode which dosen't sping the bottle. Real easy to use b/c of the electronic touch pad with easy to understand beverage chill settings and clean up is a snap, just empty the ice water bath in the sink. I store my wine outside the fridge now to make more room for other stuff since I can quickly chill my wine whenever I need it like when guests come over or whatever. Really recommend for the wine drinker b/c it can chill your wine quickly to the proper serving temp and great for the person who throws allot of parties since it can chill just about anything! Great conversation piece at parties.

5Berndes SignoCast Classic 10-Qt Stock Pot
By Sandra M.
Berndes is my favorite cooking pot because of the great coating and the nearly waterless cooking potential. I use less oil when I saute' veggies and seasonings, food cooks quickly, evenly, and fresher tasting. Because of the cost I purchased my entire set one item at a time and although I feel I paid a bit more purchasing that way, I am totally satisfied. The only con that I have noticed is that the rims of my pots show nicks from being used and stored inside each other. But, that has no effect on the ease of cooking and best of all, the ease of cleanup. Very often I just rinse with hot water and a paper towel before washing with soap. Easiest!

5Excellent quality!!
By A. C.
This pot worths every penny, I love when I sear my meat on it because it will leave a very nice golden brown coat on the meat, and then everything will be easily removed when I do the deglaze with wine, and that is something that the nonstick pots normally can not do, cleaning such a big pot can be a pain when they are stainless steel but to clean this one is hassle free.
