Lil powerhouse

This inverter version of Yamaha's 1000 watt generator is great. It is super quiet, super light and seems to run forever on a tank of gas. I don't really understand this "inverter" technology, but it is obviously the future for generators. Apparently this generator has a "brain" and gears up or down to only produce the amount of power called for. It is really cool. I also have Yamaha's bigger inverter model, the 2800 watt. We had 2 screwguns, a 500 watt light and a radio on the 2800 watt and it was barely breaking a sweat. This 1000i is the little brother to that great generator. It's worth the few extra bucks it cost over the traditional 1000 watt generators.

Amazing generator for home and camp use

This little power house is the best of the best. Quieter and has a higher surge then the Honda, more fuel efficent and lighter as well.If you shop around it can be purchased for the mid $600's shipped, which also makes it cheaper then the Honda. Runs a small ac unit with ease, even runs my full size side by side fridge ( It might not run yours based on power needs). Lights, tv's etc barely get it off idle when the economy switch is on, allowing it to run all day. As an emergency generator it's very low fuel useage is a big plus, first thing that's hard to find in an emergency is gas. 5 gallons would last you at least 10 days running 12 hours a day at 1/4 load with this unit. My 3500 watt generator uses more then 5 gallons in 11 hours!One pull starting, easy to maintain, ( it even has a small rubber cup built in if you spill a little oil ), whisper quiet, you can barely smell the exhaust, simply the best little generator I've ever used.

Just the best 1kw Generator on Earth

I have had this generator for 2 years now. The power here in mid maine is not too terribly reliable. Since I have purchased this generator, I have had a much better time when the lights go out. The small size and weight also mean that when its time to go out for a tailgate party I can bring the Blender, a fan, lights, radio, and a crock pot. People walking by just cant believe there is a generator running and powering all these things, yeah its quiet, even less noise than the Honda 1kw inverter gen. (This generator was the quietest generator on the market 2 years ago.) When the econo mode switch is on it is incredibly thrifty on gas. Just think it only has a 0.6 gallon fuel tank, and it still lasts all day long on one tank of gas. Last Night we lost power yet again and I had my trusty Yamaha powering the following load, 2 25w compact florescent lamps, cpap machine, 5000btu window AC unit, IBM Laptop, and a 12" tornado fan. Just a note, I start the AC first and then set it to lowest temp to keep the AC compressor from cycling, Then I add other loads. The Generator cant be in the econo mode when starting big surging loads like an ac unit. Even with all this stuff running the .6gal tank will go all night long. I did set the econo mode switch to on last night and the generator throttled down to match the load. I was surprised that the generator wasn't actually at full power with all that stuff on.The best reason to get one is that its Blue, oh and its the best 1000w generator there is. Sure its pricy, but the quiet operation, fuel economy, portability, will having you smiling every time you use it. I will however probably get a cheap 3-5kw generator to do grunt work like power the fridge and the well pump when needed and then turn that one off and enjoy having the clean quiet power this generator provides.

Classy, Versatile & Professional

These have become my go-to earrings. They're versatile, beautiful and comfortable -- all characteristics I expect from quality 14 kt gold jewelry. As others have noted, the size is appropriate for both day and evening. The style works equally well at work and for a fun night out.The design of joined twin gold hoops, one white and one yellow, means that you can mix and match your watch band and bracelets and still look put-together. They're a natural choice to accompany any two-tone jewelry you may have. You also can play around with having the white gold closest to your face or the yellow gold closest, which can be useful if you are trying to coordinate with a necklace.I like the security and ease of a snap closure; there's no worry about a backing going missing and having to find a replacement. In fact, for earrings above a certain value, having a snap closure is almost a "must" for me.These are comfortable to wear, and I've received compliments on them. The only drawback is remembering to be careful about the amount of pressure you use in snapping the earrings closed; I do wish that the vertical receptacle were a bit thicker, and for that reason, I'm subtracting a star (wish we could rate in half-star increments).

Versatile earrings, nice feel and quality

I bought these earrings as a lightning deal special last November. I've been very satisfied with them. Size-wise, the external diameter of the earring is pretty much identical to that of a US nickel ($.05) coin. I laid one of the earrings on top of a nickel coin, and when I lined up the bottom of the earring with the edge of the coin, the fastener wire at the top extended just a bit beyond the edge of the coin - at the open end, not the hinge end.I like the feel of these earrings; they aren't too heavy to be comfortable to wear, but they are substantial. They present a nice profile from the front.I've worn them a few times a week for three or four months now, with no problems at all. The fasteners seem to be a little hard to snap shut, but I like that because it means they are not likely to come unfastened accidentally. And they haven't come undone by accident, unlike other hoops with similar closures, which have sometimes been slipped open by contact with a scarf or coat collar.UPDATED on June 30, 2012: These earrings are still one of my go-to wardrobe mainstays. I wear them at least three days a week, and they are usually the only earrings I take when traveling. I have no idea if the quality of the earrings being sold now, is different from this pair that I bought two and a half years ago. However, my earrings (the 14k yellow and white gold version) are still going strong. The wire fasteners are still working well and the finish is clear and bright. I haven't abused these earrings but I haven't babied them, either. The price of precious metals has gone up since late 2009 when I bought these, and my budget's rather tight right now. If not for those two facts I'd be buying the all-yellow-gold version of these earrings in a heartbeat. For now, they are on my wish list.

Don't hesitate!

I had these on my wish list and decided to order them for myself after Christmas, after looking in stores and not finding anything that looked quite the same! They just arrived and all I can say is WOW! Nice look, substantial size and plenty of "statement". Picture does not do them justice. All I can say is don't hesitate, you will be dissappointed if they sell out.

X-Ray Vision

Whether you are a collector or if you need an excellent work knife, you can not go wrong with the X-Ray Vision or any other SOG blade. SOG constructs very good durable knives for a moderate price. The X-Ray Vision is a perfect example, it is a larger version than it cousin the mini x-ray both are partially serrated and maintain their edge, these are very tough knives. I prefer a combination blade to a straight edge because in certain situation the sharp saw like action of the serrations is better, especially on cords, rope, and other hard materials where even the sharpest straight edge has difficulty cutting through. The blade can easily be opened with one hand and promptly lock into place. I have owned this knife for about a year, and it has held up very well considering this abuse it has endured. I would recommend this knife it is idea for all manner of work.

Solid knife

Basics:The blade is 3.75 inches long and .125 inches thick. The blade is VG-10 and is sharp. The overall length is approximately 8.37 inches long and weighs about 4.3 ounces.Blade:The VG-10 blade is durable, sharp and holds an edge very well. There is no need to sharpen the blade once you receive this knife. The blade is bead blasted to provide a low profile by not being very reflective. The blade is tanto style and partially serrated. The back of the blade has thumb ramp serrations to enhance grip utilizing the thumb.Handle:The black Zytel handle is very strong and durable. Zytel is a trademark owned by DuPont and used for a number of different high strength, abrasion and impact resistant thermoplastic polyamide formulations. It fits great in your hand and provides good traction and grip. The clip is strong and can be placed on either side of the knife. The knife is lightweight and comfortable to hold. There's a lanyard hole in the butt just to the rear of the pocket clip recess.Opening:The knife is extremely easy to open. The opening action is very smooth and it locks into place very solid. There is no play in the blade once open.Closing:Use caution when closing as you do not want fingers to be in a position where you can get cut. While this is common sense with any knife this blade is sharp which is unforgiving if you make a mistake.This knife opens and closes with what SOG calls "Arc-Lock". It opens and closes very silently but very fast. Use caution when closing until you are familiar with the operations of this knife.I have had this knife for over 10 years and it has performed flawlessly. Quality earrings for the price

This was a pity gift to myself because it was my anniversary, and I've just had nose surgery. Like other reviewers, I was also surprised at the quality of these earrings. I try to look for bargains on Amazon to make my shopping dollars go as far as possible, and these seemed to be a good deal at $24.99 when regular price was $75. Just since March 16, though, both retail and selling prices have changed on Amazon to be $34.99 and $70. It's very true that the posts are a little thicker than normal, but not onerously so; the result is that the hoop is not going to slide around on your ear, and the post clicks securely into the catch on the other side. The earrings are larger than I expected for the price, which is good, but they are not too big. Nickel size is about right, and they feel as if they have some weight to them.

Sturdy, well made, and simply beautiful

I think the title says it all! The posts are fine and I don't feel that they are too thick at all. These earrings are comfortable and elegant. In response to the two negative reviews based on the size of the hoops, I would recommend that all intelligent buyers READ the dimensions in order to avoid disappointment. I can't believe that people would negatively rate an item because they were ignorant and failed to read the description. The description is very accurate and I am very happy with these earrings. You won't be disappointed with the quality of these earrings.

This is one wicked knife,if you only buy one knife this is it.Total quality,very sharp,and excellent craftsmanship.You can cut small diameter rope without removing from sheath.Nice ballance to it,fits my big hands perfectly.When you take it out of the sheath,it just says "Don't mess with me!" I like the SEAL knife so much, the bigger version ,the TIGERSHARK,is next on my list of fixed blade tactical knives.You could almost call it a small sword, than a knife.

Great all purpose knife

This is an excellent knife from SOG. All aspects of the knife show the high level of workmanship and attention to details. The blade is very strong and sharp.The handle feels good in the hand and provides a solid grip. It works well even when wet. Overall it's a great working knife and I'm very pleased with this purchase. As an aside, if this blade is too long, consider getting the smaller pup version. It's just as good and takes all sorts of abuse and much easier to carry about when hiking or doing outdoor work.

Good Dive knife

I gave it 4 stars because really for recreational scuba diving IMO, a 7inch blade is too long. The Shorter "SEAL Pup" is a better knife. That said, this is a pretty tough knife. Not as strong as the Strider WB or TAC 10/11, but still strong enough for recreational scuba divers. Those other knives are also way more expensive, like 3x this one. The sheath which isn't pictured here is very high tech. It holds the knife firmly, has lots of straps and loops for almost any carry position. So a better choice than those cheapy but flashy dive knives from US Divers.

classic style

These earrings are a good size but still very light. It is a little tricky to learn how to fasten them, but once hooked they stay safely closed all day. The clasp sytem does not show once the earrings are on - so this is a very clean and classic look. I have long hair and the clasp does not tangle in my hair.

Great carriable knife

The Mini X-Ray Vision is a great small knife that is truly a confortable carriable (if you carry a larger knife and bend down, you know what I mean). With the low carry clip the knife is inconspicuous and comfortable to wear.

This knife ships with a very sharp blade, and with the Arc-Loc it is possible to draw, open, close and replace the knife with one hand. Now that's useful!

Nearly Invisible with Low Carry Clip

The low carry clip makes a waistband carry feasible in situations where it is inappropriate to display the end of knife handle protruding from your pants. This carry comes at the expense of less than a second's delay in draw time. We can hope SOG will begin to offer it on the full-sized X-Ray Vision as well.

The Arc-Loc is functionally equivalent to an Axis-Lock from an engineering perspective, differing only in that the locking pin does not slide in a track, rather it is at one end of a quarter-inch-long linkage having a pivot at the opposite end.

The action is very smooth and low-friction.

All it purports to be, this sharp knife very easily opens and closes with quick, one-handed movements. As with many other users, I find the well-placed clip perfect for discreet carrying although -- as the only negative -- it is way too tight.

Beautiful earrings...

I love these earrings. They are really beautiful and so shiny that even with my long hair they're noticable.If you're interested in the size of the earrings, I would say that they're about the size of a quarter. Someone mentioned thick posts. The posts are the thickest I have seen but I like them. Every other pair of earrings I own have bent posts because I forget to remove them before going to sleep. Not these.The price is fantastic and they come in a nice box. Perfect affordable gift!

It's a decent buy

I was hoping that they were a little larger in size and not as thick. However, I think it's a decent buy for only $30.00 I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my girlfriend. It comes packaged in a beautiful velvet blue box thats almost big enough to fit a watch. Very clean presentation when you open it up. The white gold really shines. The free shipping was FAST...and I do mean quick. I ordered this late at night and it arived the very next day. I've never had a quicker shipment for free before. If your looking for a great deal on white gold earings, I think you've found it.

Quality for a Great Price!!!

I wear plain gold hoop earrings almost everyday and over the years I have lost many earrings. After another recent loss, I purchased both the white and yellow 14K gold hoop earrings. I have paid far more than the $29 price for 10K hoops of far inferior quality. Because they were so inexpensive, I did wonder if I'd want to return them once they arrived. I was very pleasantly surprised. Unlike most, these are heavy, don't appear to be "hollow" and the clasp snaps in well so I don't worry about losing one. I love both pairs. I highly recommend them and would purchase them again without hesitation.

GOOD MACHINE..HAD TO RETURN IT

Don't get me wrong here, this is a real good machine. Very heavily built, excellant finish, and very quiet. The dust collection is great, it has plenty of power and tracks well. But I had to return it and replace it with the Shop Fox G4790(see separate review). There were a couple of reasons for this. First you cannot remove the end piece from the belt sander and sand on the radius. This piece is an intregal part of the tracking system and must remain on the machine when sanding. I need a machine that I can sand/shape large radius on. Second..I need a machine that I can quickly change belts, as I will go thru 4-5 differant grits in a 10 minute period. Changing the belt on this machine involves removing parts...too slow. The last item was the casters...they should be heavier duty. If I had kept the machine I would have changed them out for Gizzly 3" locking casters.If none of these are important to your use, I would recommend this sander. It's a nice machine and I wish I could have kept it.

Great Sander - Great Value

I bought this sander from Tool Crib a few months ago. It wasn't on the Amazon.com site at the time.

I went with the open stand because I wanted some storage below. Not sure if that's an option thru Amazon.com.

The sander was easy to set up. The fit and finish was excellent. It runs smooth, though the graphite platen behind the belt sander it somewhat noisy. It seems to have quieted a bit with more use. Bits of the graphite material get all over the place for about the first 15 mins of use but that seems to have taken care of itself.

I found the belt a little tough to adjust as to maintain a given lateral position on the rollers. This is my first belt sander so that might just be due my lack of familiararity with the machine.

The sander has ample power. I have yet to get it to bog down on pine, maple or white oak. The tables are very good. The disk table is machined cast iron and well built. The belt table seems to be pressed from heavy sheet metal but has worked fine for me. It's not flimsy at all. It was fairly easy to square everything up and set the stops. Though on the belt table, I had to leave a little extra gap between the belt and the table because when you tighten the table locks, it seems to pull the table toward the belt. Not a big deal though.

Dust collection is better than I expected. There are sliding panels in the rear of the sander to direct the collection from either the disk or belt sander area. I thought this was good idea. I have a 1-1/2 HP Delta dust collector located about 15 feet from the sander and the combination seems to do a good job at keeping the sanding dust down.

Other than the preceeding minor issues, I think this is a great sander. The value is hard to beat, if not impossible to beat. I find that the sander is very stable on the open stand. It gives me extra storage with a shop-made plywood shelf and saved me a few bucks. Though the closed stand does look nice I though function was more important.

I recommend this sander highly.

Purchased in February 2004 to replace a smaller sander that wore out after 15 years. I was impressed with the quality of the machine. Tracking was easily set up and has stayed true. Plenty of power, smooth operation and the vaccuum system is helpful in dust removal. Only negative was in the foot lever to lock the wheels which bent if I engaged the lock with a foot. Worked fine if one used a hand to set the lock. This flimsey locking mechanism should be improved.

Very nice earrings

I ordered these earrings a little over two months ago and I am very happy with them. They are very light weight and they do not pull on your ears. The size is perfect; very "in" right now. You do have to pull on the stem pretty hard to get them off because the clasp is very tight. However, so far, so good. They have not broken and the clasp has not become loose or anything. I even accidentally left them in a pocket once and they were put through the washing machine. They were completely fine afterward. I do wish the earrings had been about $20 less expensive. But, overall I love my earrings!

Perfect Pair!

I have been trying to find the perfect size, quality and weight earrings for months- and I have found them! These hoops are sexy for night time and still professional enough for the office. I could not be more pleased. I wear them all the time and they are GORGEOUS. Worth the money!

I love these!

I am a hoop-earring-wearer and have lots of hoop earrings. I only wear gold, and I must say I was really happy when I opened the pouch these came in and saw how nice the earrings were. I thought they would be flimsier for the price. They are a nice solid earring, just right for big hoops. Lightweight, but they don't twist and bend. They appear to be very good quality. I will be taking good care of these babies. :)
