X-Ray Vision

Whether you are a collector or if you need an excellent work knife, you can not go wrong with the X-Ray Vision or any other SOG blade. SOG constructs very good durable knives for a moderate price. The X-Ray Vision is a perfect example, it is a larger version than it cousin the mini x-ray both are partially serrated and maintain their edge, these are very tough knives. I prefer a combination blade to a straight edge because in certain situation the sharp saw like action of the serrations is better, especially on cords, rope, and other hard materials where even the sharpest straight edge has difficulty cutting through. The blade can easily be opened with one hand and promptly lock into place. I have owned this knife for about a year, and it has held up very well considering this abuse it has endured. I would recommend this knife it is idea for all manner of work.

Solid knife

Basics:The blade is 3.75 inches long and .125 inches thick. The blade is VG-10 and is sharp. The overall length is approximately 8.37 inches long and weighs about 4.3 ounces.Blade:The VG-10 blade is durable, sharp and holds an edge very well. There is no need to sharpen the blade once you receive this knife. The blade is bead blasted to provide a low profile by not being very reflective. The blade is tanto style and partially serrated. The back of the blade has thumb ramp serrations to enhance grip utilizing the thumb.Handle:The black Zytel handle is very strong and durable. Zytel is a trademark owned by DuPont and used for a number of different high strength, abrasion and impact resistant thermoplastic polyamide formulations. It fits great in your hand and provides good traction and grip. The clip is strong and can be placed on either side of the knife. The knife is lightweight and comfortable to hold. There's a lanyard hole in the butt just to the rear of the pocket clip recess.Opening:The knife is extremely easy to open. The opening action is very smooth and it locks into place very solid. There is no play in the blade once open.Closing:Use caution when closing as you do not want fingers to be in a position where you can get cut. While this is common sense with any knife this blade is sharp which is unforgiving if you make a mistake.This knife opens and closes with what SOG calls "Arc-Lock". It opens and closes very silently but very fast. Use caution when closing until you are familiar with the operations of this knife.I have had this knife for over 10 years and it has performed flawlessly. It remains a part of my EDC bag for knife redundancy. Overall, a very nice knife that I highly recommend.
