the lamp is excellent for night reading--

The halogen bulb has two brightness settings-- the components are high quality, and the fit & finish are very good. I was impressed how the lamp was packaged for shipping at the factory-everything was bubble wrapped, or styrofoam protected inside a double box. Set up itself was simple. Quoizel offers a lifetime warrantee against electrical defects. The lamp is more expensive, but you get what you pay for. very pleased with my purchase--

Very Pretty Lamp

I bought this lamp many years ago from Sundance. The lamp sat for several years without being used because I hated the heat given off by the halogen bulb.Over the years, two of the wires that held the glass disk have broken so I no longer use the glass disk.I'm using the lamp again after finding a non-halogen bulb with the same pins that works in it. Xenon 20 watt bulbs by Bulbrite fit and give off far less heat than the halogen bulbs.I love the look and flexibiilty of this lamp, but will never buy another lamp or light fixture that takes halogen bulbs unless I know I can swap to using a different type of bulb in it.My lamp sits next to my desk and provides low level light for the phone and off hour work.

This is a great reading lamp if you have a small space.It is not as large as a normal floor lamp.However, it has 2 intensities, and 2 ways to adjust.It is well made.The glass shade does get quite hot when in use...i have had the identical Quoizel desk lamp like this one for a number of years.I LOVE both of them.
