Product Description

The KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer has a strong 325-watt motor delivers the power to handle the heaviest mixtures, and mix large batches easily. The 5-quart stainless steel bowl with ergonomic handle is big enough to handle large batches of heavy mixtures. Its ergonomically designed handle is contoured to fit the hand and makes lifting the bowl more comfortable. The unique mixing action eliminates the need to rotate the bowl by spinning the beater clockwise and the shaft counterclockwise, moving the beater to the edge of the bowl at 67 different points. This ensures a quick and complete mixing action. The Stand Mixer includes a flat beater, dough hook, and wire whip which will add to the versatility of the mixer.

5Monster mash
By Joanna Daneman
This is a heavier mixer than the "Artisan" model, and the bowl raises and lowers on a lever rather than the head of the mixer lifting up. If you make heavy breads or a lot of bread for your family, this may be a better choice mixer with the stronger motor.

You can also add a grain grinder to the front of the device--there's a lid that flips up and you insert it into a hole with a positioning pin. The motor then turns the grinder, sausage stuffer or vegetable grater. The grinders work terrific; the vegetable grater/slicer is a variation on those cone slicers and not my favorite attachment. But for a one-stop heavy-duty device that mashes potatoes, kneads bread, whips egg whites, stirs cake batter or grinds wheat flour or rye flour, this can't be beat.

3I prefer the tilt head model
By J. Brown
I bought this mixer to replace my KitchenAid Ultra Power because it was a smoking deal on Amazon. Here's what I don't like:1. The struggle to snap the bowl in place.2. Because of #1, I have to keep adjusting the screw so the paddle/dough hook, whip meet correctly.3. One ruined paddle that is missing its nylon coating.Upside:1. Customer service is nice. I called to complain about the paddle, and they sent me a new one, free, along with instructions on how to properly adjust the mixer.2. I can make double batches of frosting. Here's how you adjust that screw to prevent the nylon coating from coming off your paddle and dough hook:1. Put a dime in the bottom of the bowl.2. Use the paddle and turn the mixer on.3. Adjust the screw.4. If the dime moves about 3/4" each time the paddle goes by, then your mixer is properly adjusted.

5Extremely pleased!
By A Customer
I just puchased the commercial Kitchen Aid mixer and I absolutely love it!! I cannot believe the difference between it and the hand mixer that I have been using for the last 25 years. Besides looking so beautiful in my kitchen, it mixes beautifully and in half the time of other mixers. It's much quieter than I had expected and it so handy that I use it as much as possible. I do not regret purchasing this very special mixer. It was well worth the wait and the cost.
