5Review on Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Disk
By A Customer
This item is good for kids i suppose 8+. It is great, the real life-point counter, slip magic/trap cards into the magic/trap cards slot just like in the show! It really lights up when a monster card is laid down or magic/trap card is inserted into the slot. This toy needs 3 watch-batteries, but we know how cheap those are! This is a great present for christmas, birthday, or just for a friendly gift. The price is great, only 34.95! It was supposed to be 60.00, and it was supposed to have the magic/trap card area slide from under the monster card area! This is great, who cares about holograms, kids just need a new device to duel with, and you can duel Head to Head, WOW! This is literally the 1st card playing machine that caculates damage and everthing! Thanks, I really prefer you buy this, I am getting one for somebody on Christmas! Thank You, and God Bless.

5Duel Disk Launcher
By A Customer
Okay, as you probably know, there are no holograms in this thing, but i don't care. Holograms are a long ways off, but they do exist (besides motion cards) and I've heard that they're trying to come out with them in January, so I guess we'll see. Anyway on to the duel disk.

It's pretty useful as it eliminates tables, chairs, paper and pencils (for life points) and the incredibly dorky and outdated duel mats. You may think that the life point counter is digital but it's actually wheels with numbers on them. Each one has a button that moves it down one number. They each go up to nine and the button for the ones digit dosen't move the wheel, it lights up the numbers, so if you use Winged Dragon of Ra, remeber that. There is a switch on the bottom that you can set to make the numbers light up permanently or temporarily when lit.

The graveyard is covered by a red top that flip up so you can search through. The cards are held down by a white tab, but it fills up pretty fast, just put in 20 cards and the rest start sticking out. The deck holder can only hold up to 62 cards, so if your deck is big you might want to consider getting a deck fix, or reconsider buying the duel disk. Some people say it's a real pain to get out the deck and graveyard, but it really isn't. When you take out the deck you sometimes have to dig under to get out the bottom cards, but that's about it.

The monster card area has slots that hold cards by the corners in attack or defense, and you could hold the disk upside down and shake it and they wouldn't fall out. The magic/trap card spaces are in front, so you have to hold the disk down so that your opponent dosen't see your cards. As for the fact that you can't use plastic slips, the only part of the disc that ruins the cards is the field magic card space which pops out the side and bends the bottom corners if you don't push the card down in there, but there aren't many valuble field cards anyway. It dosen't have spaces for fusion decks or a removed from play area, but you can just keep them at the bottom of the graveyard the entire time.

It has a switch on the bottom that shifts it from standby mode to duel mode but it is spring loaded, not electronic so you have to hold your hand down to not get scratched or pinched. It is kind of bulky, but it's lightweightness makes up for that. That's about all. If you think it has too many downsides, wait till' they make the real one, but I think it's cool. If you want to get it, I hope you like it. See ya!

4My boys 10 & 7 LOVE this! I still have reservations.......
By Rosemary A. Bertinelli
My boys Mario & Nicholas have desperately "needed" these for a long time. I was always successful at re-directing this desperate need elsewhere. The thought of spending 30.00 times 2 on a typical Friday night out was staggerging. But OH that guilt everytime they talked about them would burn in me for at least 1 full minute. Then one day I caved! This is not a one person toy. You need someone else who will play the card game with you. The purpose of this toy is to provide a "game board" for playing with the Yu-Gi-Oh cards. The overall scoop on this toy is as follows: The toy is basically a very large plastic toy that rests on your child's forearm. There is a small fabric (halloween costume quality) arm band that is supposed to secure this to the child's arm. There are also two velcro straps which are meant to help hold this securely. This set-up works fine for my 10 year who has an "athletic build" and his arms are fuller. My 7 year old is one of these "drink of water", "skinny", fast kids and his limbs are very long and very thin. I added extra velcro (the stick on kind) to help hold this on his little arm. The weight of the toy makes it necessary for it to fit securely on the arm. There is a slot which holds your "dueling deck" and another which is the "graveyard" (spent cards). The big plastic "wing part" is your game board. The toy is a simple as that. There are buttons that light up and score counters, hence the batteries.I don't know about you but in my world, a 30.00 game board is simply not necessary, BUT in my boys world, I am dead WRONG...and I am the first to admit it. They LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these! This toy is large to store! It is part of my boys room's decor. It is constantly out in my home and it gets a whole lot of "play time." I have spent $60 on small appliances for myself that I have used less. This has made my investment in Yu-Gi-Oh cards worthwhile. This toy gives them a cool and good reason to duel.I have not had any issues with breakage. The toy is self-sufficient and child friendly. There is no impact on my time to set it up when the boys play. They do this on their own. I am constantly telling them to pick them up though...a great sign when you have so much invested in a toy, at least in my opinion.Ovarall, as a parent, I am thrilled that my boys are so thrilled and use these as much as they do. They are not in constant use but there is a consistency to their use. They never end up in the back of the closet. My boys really did "NEED" these toys and I was too overly value consciousness to spring for them earlier. My mistake! If your children are like mine and have been expressing an interest in these, give in and purchase these for them. This will get one of the "WOW" reactions!Just keep repeating to yourself, "it's not about me!"Rosemary
