Solid and affordable mic

I just used this to shoot an entire feature length film (called Night Things). It acts like a much more expensive mic. One of our best peices of equipment.I would recomend getting a better windscreen if you are going to be shooting outside, as the one that comes with it is very basic. And the shock absorbing harness it comes with is just so-so, so if it is getting bumped around you will definitly hear it.

i bought this for my first feature film and it's very good. if anything it picks up too much sound so you have to be mindful of indoor/outdoor settings and really place it close to the actor(s). it uses one battery and it lasted me all summer. i've never used a boom mic before but while we were editing we found that the sound is really true.

Azden Sqm-2x Shotgun mic

Used for a week at a shoot in a conference room to pick up questions from an audience. Worked great. Better than my other +$500.00 shotgun. Comes with right connectors and connections. Just took out of the package and plugged in. Runs on AAA battery that you really don't hear about until after you buy - my choice of powering the mic anyway.
