Quality tool.

I've worked with a number of routers, but this is the first one I've owned. This router is great to work with, handles are in a great spot, removable cord is nice. Carrying case has a place to put a few router bits... It's only a 1-3/4 HP so the weight is good, had no problem flush-cutting the edge of 3/4" birch plywood, and handled plunge cutting with a 1-1/2" bit no problem. Would recommend for sure. Not suitable for all jobs due to the lower HP, but for most work this is a great tool.

I really like this little router - but it let me down badly!

All the good reviews about run-out, power, weight ... are correct - BUT - the depth lock mechanism is not really positive.Yesterday the cut depth drifted from 3/8" to 3/4"! I blamed the person who was using the router for overloading/forcing the tool, and possibly the cam-lock was not tight enough, as well.Well its now locked as tight as I can operate it without breaking it, it was not being overloaded, and it still drifted from 3/8" to 1/2" before I caught it!Used in my shopmade router table it does not drift, since the Dewalt base is not used in the digital readout router lift, the cuts are precise and the unit continues to be a pleasure to use.Now however I am in the market for a portable router with accurate depth positioning and a lock that actually works positively, maybe a Triton.

it has done everything i've ask it to. i really like the base release. the power cord unpluging from the router is kinda nice too
