5Works great for launching and retrieving my boat
By Jay Chan
I am new in boating. Because of my inexperience, I know I need all the help that I can get. One of the challenge is to properly launch a boat and then retrieve it. This post-guide helps me to prevent the boat from floating away while I am warming up the old outboard while the boat is still connected to the trailer (that old outboard needs to warm up with choke for a minute before I can turn off the choke and put it in gear). The post-guide also helps me to line up the boat with the trailer when I need to retrieve the boat.Honestly I am not sure if the model that I am posting this review is the exact model I have purchased. The model that this review is sending to is for one with 40" PVC pipes. Mine has 32" PVC pipes. But that is what Amazon asks me to rate, and I assume Amazon knows their product.I was worrying about if the 32" PVC posts are too short and may not sticking out from the water when the trailer was submersed in the water. This turns out not to be a problem. This may have to do with the trailer is not that long (that is for a 18-ft boat) and the launch ramp is not that steep. The 32" model works for me. Having said this, if you are going to order it, you may want to order the 40" model instead of the 32" model - just to make sure the PVC posts will stick out of the water when your trailer is submersed (especially if your trailer has bunks instead of rollers that you need to submerse the trailer quite low into the water).
