The ProVista 7518 Tripod is designed for videographers who need a heavy-duty tripod for a variety of field, studio, educational, and industrial applications. It supports cameras weighing up to 18 pounds. The ProVista is a three-section aluminum tripod with a non-glare black anodized finish. Quick release leg locks are easy to use even in the cold. For fast setup, the locks flip open and close with only a half twist.The top-leg section of the tripod has double-strut construction for stability. A 75 millimeter claw ball adds mobility and stability to your shooting. The 3/8"-16 mounting screw will accept most professional tripod heads. The rubber feet provide traction on any surface, indoors and out. Maximum height for the ProVista is 64 inches, minimum height is 31 inches. Tripod weight without a head is 8 pounds.Matched up perfectly to the ProVista 7518 tripod is the FM18 Fluid Head, which can also hold up to 18 pounds. Designed for heavy-duty use with Mini DVs and large camcorders, offering fluid-smooth 360° panning and 90° up-and-down tilting. Mil Spec, tripod fighting machine..... well almost : )

We have a closet full of broken and worn out tripods. Heads go bad, legs no longer hold up. NOT THIS ONE!!I am fully confident that I could mount a heavy machine gun to this tripod. Built with heavy duty materials. Precision construction, just like the Steadicam Merlin (we have one of those too) that is made by the same company. 10 Year warrantee, and when you see this beast in person, you will understand why. Simply put, the last tripod you will ever buy. Fluid Pan head is ridiculously smooth and ALL METAL!. Comes with a nice heavy duty body bag. I first saw this bad boy on display in the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show, and tried to buy the display model on the spot.

Top end quality. Tough powder coated legs, aluminum castings. Shipping weight is 11 pounds -- B and H included at no extra cost a 3" wheeled dolly and two extra quick-connect plates. Very smooth action on legs, silky glide on extra heavy duty fluid head. I've used O'connors and Millers costing 1,000 smackers, and this head is just as good if not better. Ball leveling and bubble; locks down TIGHT too. Balancing cam is easy and fast. Comes with heavy duty black ballistic nylon bag (which is even lined with sateen fabric and has two zipper compartments and tote strap). The "blue bag" from that Vermont company alone is $200. Very pleased with the excellent construction and fast service and extras from B and H. This pod's a definite winner in all aspects so far. Comes with 10 year warranty so be sure to save the proof of purchase invoice and register the product. Even comes with allen wrench to tighten head screws if necessary. Highly recommend this fine product.

I bought two of these tripods for my Canon XL-H1s. I was looking for the cheapest tripod that would support the weight.The tripod comes with a bag, carrying strap, and an extra mounting plate. Another review mentioned a missing alan wrench. I didn't see anywhere that said it came with one, or why you'd even need one.Another review mentioned poor design on the mounting plate, but it worked just fine for me. You unscrew the tab on the right and hold down on the button on the left, and it slides right out. Then you screw it in just like pretty much any other plate.It comes with two handles, but you'll want to remove the right one if you want to tilt the camera up and down, as the handle gets in the way of the knob that controls that.If you're looking for a professional fluid head, you'll want to buy or rent one of those $1000+ tripods. But this one is more than adequate for projects where the fluid movement isn't going to make or break your film.
