Rolls Royce of Trimmers

I recently ordered a Rotatrim 15" trimmer after reading internet reviews of many different trimmer brands. Based on my research, it seemed this was the most reliable and respected brand.When I received this trimmer, I was shocked. It is not just another trimmer, it is a precision made machine! The base is thick and very solid; the rotary cutter housing and slide supports are metal, not plastic. If fact, the only plastic on the unit is the clear finger guard along the cutting edge. The sliding action is silky smooth and the cuts are clean and perfect.Apparently, many graphic design firms and photographers use these trimmers all day, every day. I have been told that under such heavy use, the cutter wheel generally lasts about 5 years before needing replacement. Under less stringent use, the cutter wheel has been known to last 15 to 20 plus years.The fact that many of these trimmers have been in service for over 20 years is a testament to their quality parts, construction, and design.This brand is more expensive than some others, but if you need a trimmer that is solid, reliable, and trouble free for the long haul, Rotatrim is the brand you want. As the saying goes, quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten!

Extremely Solid Photo Cutter

GOOD:I've been using my Rotatrim M-15 for cutting/trimming photos printed at home. I use the Epson Photo R1800 (also top-notch) Epson Stylus Photo R1800 Inkjet Printer The Cutter is so solid and the cuts are perfect.The dual stabilizer bars make this hassle free. and the circular blade makes for even cuts with out ever ruining what you are cutting.SO-SO:The little slider it comes with to help use the built in ruler doesn't help much. I'm always afraid that my photo will slide under it and the slide will scratch the photo.Overall: AIf you like to get the best of things, then this is the cutter you want. Perfect cuts everytime and rock solid.The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the slider scares me (yes you can take it off...and I do, but then again, its a selling feature you shouldn't have to take off)

I purchased this cutter back in February of 2008. I have been a scrapbooker for over 15 years and wanted a cutter that would cut stacks of cardstock along with chipboard, which you are unable to do with the basic plastic trimmers on the market. I did a great deal of research before purchasing the Rotatrim 15. I couldn't be more happy with my purchase as it was well worth the money. It cuts as sharply today and it did when I first received it. It cuts my cardstock perfectly straight, even with stacks, and crops the photos I print out exactly where I want. As long as you allow your photos to completely dry, it absolutely does not damage them at all. The cutter allows cuts from top to bottom and then bottom to top. I am completely satisfied with this product and will never use any other cutter than Rotatrim.
